Hi There,
New to this forum. Found it while trying to find info on an old player Bill Durham (aka Derham).
My brother (we are both Tiges supporters/members) fits blinds for a living. Anyway, he was doing a job out St Leonards way for this old bloke when they struck up a conversation. Apparently Bill used to play for the tigers years ago around the same time as Captain Blood. My brother was a bit skeptical about his story so Bill went and got copies of some correspondence (i think they were telegrams) I haven't seen these yet but they were from the Captain.
So, anybody got any info on this guy? Can't seem to find anything on the web.
Thanks.
Tony

Welcome to OER Tony :)
There was a Ron Durham who played for the Tigers in Jack's time. In fact was stuff in our 1943 premiership side and won the B&F that year.
From the Encyclopedia of AFL Footballers:
Ron Durham - 1943-44 and 1948, 59 games, 0 goals (b. 11 July 1921, 183cm, 85.5kg). From Bacchus Marsh. stuff in Richmond's 1943 premiership side. Durham had a nightmare start to his League career when Carlton FF Baird kicked 10 goals on him. However, Durham was carrying a thigh injury in that match and developed into a fine Richmond player. Jack Dyer rated him second only to Jack Regan as a stuff. He was best and fairest in his debut season - the premiership year.

This Durham name left me scratching my head because I thought I'd heard it before.
But I was thinking of Jim Derham(sp) who played for the Dees I think and he was a player manager at the RFC or general manager. Anyone remember him and what he did?

You may be referring to Mr Bill Durham who was President of the club in 1986. He has had an association of the club for namy years.
Ron Durham- as listed in the book and my book, was Richond Full Back, but died- having been electrocuted at his home.
