Another will Sheedy replace Wallace phone poll ::) :sleep.
-
this is just the start, as i previously posted elsewhere a scribe mate of mine from one of the rags has told me TW is in the sights of a lot of them this season if it goes all pear shaped..batten down the hatches, and well all know how the RFC deals with this pressure. :yep
-
True rogerd3. Today followed yesterday's quips about us being relegated to a second division in an expanded 18 comp. We and especially Wallace are in the media's gunsights big time.
-
Sorta like fishing up North, just chuck a piece of red paper on a hook and you get a bite.
Not really hard at all.
-
Wooden spoons will do that.
-
well terry and miller are stearing the ship, lets pray they turn it around
may god help us all
gold coast tigers here we come
-
Tigers the topic again on the radio tonight.
Mike was on 3aw earlier tonight saying how disappointed he was in us last Friday night as he thought we'd be the big improvers this year (well we can't get any worse than last Mike lol). He said despite the poor preseason game he still thinks we'll be much better this year.

Howto shoot my confidence and optimism down in one hit - Mike saying we'll improve.....
We are now officially doomed :rollin :rollin

totally agree the last thing we need is this bloke pumping us up. :banghead

The results of these preseason games are meaningless but hopefully winning comfortably keeps the media wolves from the Punt Rd door for the time being. The loser of last night's game was going to be under the gun.

It is obvious that us and the Dees would struggle this year. Problem is the Dees have a new coach and we have one in the fourth year of a five year contract so we are the better bet to have a go against. Also Tiger fans tend to jam the hotlines to voice their disapprovals over a game whereas Melbourne fans get into the Range Rovers fill the suitcase take the chains for the tyres and go to the snow. Melbourne despite their results this year will not be under the eyes of scrutiny as we are. We just have to win regularly to keep the media speculation and headhunting to a minimum and the wolves from our door.

That's true HT74. Eade and the doggies will have to produce too for that reason of being in the job as long as Plough. As you predicted there was no mention of the Dees losing today and no angry Dee callers.

Well it's official ....
Rohan says "Richmond will be crap"
but Melbourne and Essendon (9th) will be a lot better than others think.

I can actually understand why he would say that too.
As I have said numerous times, it has nothing to do with the scoreboard but the way you play.
Carlton were terrrible in the first half last nite but showed something in the second half.
Richmonds game plan was crap against the saints, same as the majority of last year.. If the tiges are going to dish up short kicks, sideways backwards and doing "'circle work ""in D 50 each week, nothing is more certain, they will be CRAP! And will win the wooden spoon!

When the Hawks had put the cue in the rack?
Mitchell and Buddy didnt even step foot on the ground in the 2nd half.
The hawks were playing for next week, no doubt about it.
-
The whole footy community knows that Buddy has a knee problem.
I have no doubt the Blues changed there game plan after half time.
This included more inside runners and less handballs to stationary targets
-
The Hawks took a few more off than just Buddy. Bateman was rested too IIRC.
Deep down I don't have a problem with the media saying we are crap. We sadly haven't done anything to prove otherwise. But they seem to be softer on other sides whose preseason form has been woeful after a poor year last year. What has Melbourne done to convince Rohan that they won't be as bad as some think. Same goes for the doggies who Rohan still thinks with make the Eight. They lost their last 7 games last year by an average of 50 points and nothing so far this preseason shows they have rectified their deficiencies. As for the Blues - any side that is down by 8 goals at quarter time is nothing short of crap. Last week they just got over a Port ressies side.
-
Well tonight Bucks reckons we'll win 5 games this year (so no priority pick), Healy reckons we'll improve and there's been a huge overreaction to one poor NAB Cup game, and Dwayne Russell reckons we'll beat Carlton first up.
-
we were bad v the saints, but the blues were shocking ve the dawks
-
Well there'll be no excuse for lack of motivation in round 1 given all the negative and derogatory media comments.
-
Its not so much hearing all the derogative media commentary which is justified and then using it as motivation for the next game, and once a win has been achieved we go back to old habits b/c the heat is off. Richmond need to play with a high intensity week in and week out regardless of what is being said or not. The players need to have a sterner self evaluation and take more pride in their performances and their footy club.
-
Well we'll be under the spotlight in round 1 given we start the whole season off. Everyone will be watching in primetime and there will be nowhere to hide if we freeze like we did against the Saints. We need to be positive, hungry and play with intensity.
-

That would have to be the first time in living history that the eternal Richmond hater has picked us!

Well since backwards, sideways football has gotten us nowhere I can't see the risk in playing a different style. It is not like our results will be any worse

Dwayne Russell thought Matty Rogers had died 2 years ago :stupid.
Healy had to tell him Matty was at a golf day on behalf of Bridgestone 4 days ago.

Was probably confused with Jamie Tape, was a few years ago now tho
-
People do get mixed up. :D
Had a mate ring me from a restaurant last year to tell me that if Paul Broderick hadn't died he'd swear he was sitting on the table next to him. :help
-
Matty( Roger ) Rogers is alive and very well ;)
-
