I/C Morton Patto Tivs Moore
Emer/omit: Jackson Schulz Raines / Hyde White Howat
Bring it OOOOOON!
-
Thanks Moi / MT,
No Cass in the squad? Is he injured? I thought he went quite well in the pre season.
-
Cant see Shulz playing
My Line up of that would be
B King Thursty Bowden
HB Newman Polak Jordy
C Jackson Sugar Tambo
HF Edwards Richo Petts
F Morton Lids Brown
Fol Simmo Tuck Foley
I/C Polo Patto Tivs Moore
Emerg Hughes Raines White
Ommit Howat Schulz Hyde
Could see a reason to include Hughes in the 22 for the extra tall foward to bother Carlton. I am surpirsed that Jack R is not in a team of 28.
NB: Edited to fix some spelling. There is probably 17 mistakes still, you just have to learn how to speak Fluffy.

Cogs and Jack confirmed out.
Mark Coughlan won't play against Blues
March 19, 2008
Tigers onballer Mark Coughlan will miss tomorrow night's season-opening match against Carlton. Richmond has opted for caution with the midfielder, who is coming back from his second knee reconstruction.
Richmond assistant coach Brian Royal said Coughlan needed more game time with Coburg in the VFL before he would be selected for his first AFL game since 2006.
Young key-position prospect Jack Riewoldt will also be left out of the squad after showing glimpes of his talent in several practice matches over summer.

I won't bother again ::)
Any moral lectures you want to give me on that as well :P

Thanks for posting the squad Moi :cheers :bow. It was a rush job while walking out of Vic Park.

If Howat there, that means he's been elevated from the rookie list, which means my post the other day about Meyer going on injury list is true.

I'd suggest he would've replaced Cotchin, not Meyer.
-
Well, SEN said Meyer was on the long term the other day, so don't shoot the messenger.
Whoever he replaced he's in the squad.
-
I hope Cleve can grab his chance and cement a spot in the 22 for 2008

And Gregory Miller said that Cotchin will return after he comes off the long term injury list in round 3 so yup either-or. And I assume they decided not to elevate a second which is a good call.

So do I Wayne

Schulz vs Houlihan should provide some comedy if they line up like that ;D.
Cam is very lucky :-\. I thought Polo's form at Coburg was pretty good.
Tivs is obviously now on the outer.

It was no shock to me that Polo, Edwards and McGuane missed on R1 given how little 'senior' practice they got - the writing was on the wall. I fully expect them all to be pushing for a place in the next 1-2 rounds and regular senior players through the season. Re: Tivendale, how different that we are now developing a bit of depth and confidence in our younger players so that a serviceable player can be left in the 2's. Will keep the competition and pressure for a spot keen and that can only be a good thing. Howat's obviously done the same thing as 2007 - got very fit pre-season and impressed with his output thus far - let's hope he improves on his showing in early 2007!
-
I am all for making players earn their spot but their is a time when it becomes clear that a player is simply not up to it and should not get a game, that time for Howat has long since passed.

Those reasons are true but if Cam's getting a game then our depth is still very fragile. Sure he's one of our fittest and hardest workers and always has been but his one-sidedness and need to play wide outside is his downfall. Rather Polo who can play inside or out and has a more all-round game IMO especially as we need to match Carlton's ballwinners to win.
-
Just out of curiosity we have 7 changes from round 1 2007
In: Simmo, Browny, Thursfield, King, McMahon, Jackson, Hughes
Out: P.Bowden, Krakouer, Gaspar, Tivendale, Polo, Hyde, McGuane
---------------------
The Blues have 9 changes:
In: Judd, Hadley, Jamison, Grigg, Hartlett, Bannister, Bower, Edwards, Jackson
Out: Fisher, Walker, Ackland, Bentick, Kennedy, Lappin, Russell, Whitnall, Wiggins
-
Schulz ::) they cant be serious?
I thought the tiges were half a chance and then they go and name him, now no chance, play duds , get dud result.
-
I was like this :gobdrop when I saw Howat's name
Staggered by that
-
Howat is like a boomerang, gets thrown away, keeps coming back :gobdrop
-
Howat is like a boomerang, gets thrown away, keeps coming back :gobdrop
he is crap lets be honest.
watching a guy who looks 50 kilo's where as u have guys like morton and polo pushing for spots.
my hunch is he will be left out.
either that or wallace has lost the plot already.
schulz-yeah well im used to that idiot getting a game when he should'nt
-
Ok yes I know it is sad but....I have just been watching some of the game from last year where we beat the Pies. Anyway from that win too tomorrow nights game there are only 5 player changes.
In against Collingwood:
Tivendale
Edwards
McGuane
Graham
Connors
In against Carlton:
Moore
McMahon
Schulz
Simmonds
Hughes
So there you go the biggest load of kill the time until the game trivial crap you have ever seen... But when you look at it not too many changes at all.
-
jay wont play.
-
jay wont play.
Thats what I am thinking.
-
jay wont play.
jay cant play you mean
-
I didnt know we had such an embarrassment of riches that we could leave out Mitch Morton lol. Theres 2 much sameness for me. Our club is a circus sometimes. If we lose tomorrow its not gonna be a pretty week in the media.
-
jay wont play.
jay cant play you mean
Look out it's old mate the positive one. I tell you what I am sick of hearing and it has nothing to do with your continual bleating about everything at Tigerland with a heartbeat Jackstar.... ::). I am sick of the press and everone saying how poor old Carlton will be missing Kruezer, Hampton and Ackland. Well we were in the same position last year and nothing was said. Also when did Kruezer become their no.1 ruckman. If they are going to miss him then by Geez we are going to miss Cotchin.
-

I think you will find and I hope that Mitch will be a late inclusion for Schulz, Howat or Hughes.

I'm upset about how our midfield was named; Tuck, Johnson and Foley. The same trio that got pantsed every week last year. Something different would be nice.
and apologies to Foley, it's not his fault :banghead
-
Our big problem tomorrow night is in the midfield. We have issues, how are we going to stop Judd, Stevens, Carrazzo, Murphy and Gibbs. We'll have real problems if we cant stop there mids.
-

Wow apart from Polo and McGuane what dead wood that is compared to all the Ins.
I needed some hope after the awkward team.
Im back off the canvas again. ;D
-
Wow Morton named as an emergency & Howat in the 22 :o
Cant believe that a rookie has been elevated into the 22 at the expense of a trade ::)
Anyways, could be ducks & drakes but any late changes will provide further insight into the Tiger hierachy's mindset of the preseason.
-
l'm very surprised with that lineup
-
jay wont play.
jay cant play you mean
:clapping :clapping :clapping your spot on jack
Carlscum wont fall for that poo, they should have just named Morton in the team be done with it
Wallace thinks his fooling Ratten with that lineup ;D his been in the suntan machine too long :lol

BLX, you're verging on the really pathetic, but if you get off on your superiorty complex that you can spell and your lovely to all the players, I'm happy for you :lol

Well I'm glad Moi posted it. Saved me from typing it out all again lol :thumbsup.

Yep the name of the game for us tonight. Use what should be our ruck dominance to give us first use and at least match their mids in terms of inside 50s and then hope our bookends can bring it home. As Jack said we need to stop Fev which means put the supply under constant pressure. With Judd and Stevens underdone we also need to run them off their feet running in numbers.
