RICHMOND expects injured midfield duo Trent Cotchin and Mark Coughlan to play for Coburg this weekend as they return from serious injury.

Cotchin, the No.2 pick in last year's draft, has been hampered by complications from a broken foot and has not played any football for Richmond this year.

Coughlan underwent a full pre-season in his return from two knee reconstructions then tweaked his hamstring during his return to football.

Richmond coach Terry Wallace said today that while Cotchin would play for Coburg, he was still some time away from his first senior game.

"We are hoping Trent gets through the week and will get a half of football in on the weekend and that's the starting point for him to work his way back to match fitness," he said.

"That will be really pleasing for him. He has been really rapt to be back out on the training track and doing everything and we look forward to him playing. He hasn't done a pre-season so we have just got to work him back into it."

Wallace said Cotchin had spent the pre-season doing cross-training, and was desperate to start playing football.

"Football fitness, I would say (it will take) half-a-dozen weeks. If a normal player will have one practice game prior to the NAB Cup and four or five games through the NAB Cup competition, he hasn't done the pre-season at all and it would be unfair to think he would be any more than six weeks. He probably thinks he is two (weeks away).''

Wallace said suspended forward Kayne Pettifer had crossed the line between aggression and too much ferocity at the ball.

"Blokes need to be competitive and tough but you also want them to be disciplined. We haven't lost many players through suspension. You need to be competitive in games, so sometimes the circumstances mean you will have blokes up at the judiciary."

Don't let Cotchin and Rance near the players who ared riddled with Cancer. There are 14 players who have Leukemeia on our list. Not including coaching staff.

I would think the Trent will be playing for the Coburg 2's if he is only playing a half.

I look forward to seeing what he can show us.

Will also be good to see Cogs play this weekend.

Hopefully we will draw a good crowd at ABD Stadium this Saturday.

Let's hope Coburg don't play only a half this week  :-\. Seriously it'll be great to know how Cotch goes whatever level he's playing first up.

Is this the joker who has been banned from forums more times than I have been banned from PRE (Hi Rosy)

 :cheers

I have to admire his persistence, I gave up on PRE about 6 months ago.

This character just keeps coming back. (Is it Jackstar playing games?)
