What changes, if any, would you make this week for the Hawthorn game on Sunday?

No change.

Although on a match committee view, Tuck's living dangerously and McGuane's spot isnt concrete so those two could be in the firing line if they think anyone deserves a call up from Coburg.

Agree on all points. Perhaps Connors should be an inclusion.
No Bowden Petts and Tivs and we kick 40 goals in 2 weeks. Doesn't that say anything?

If there are no injuries, then no changes

If there needs to be change then I'd consider Polo for Franklin.

Hahaha, maybe, but Franklin is a different player to the one Polo towelled up 4 years ago in the VFL.

Yeah that match was on Anzac Day 2006 when Polo towelled Buddy and the following week Dean made his debut in the dreamtime game. Later in the year Wallace played Hall on him when Buddy fronted for the Hawks against us in Tassie.

Maybe, at his best, Polo is a brilliant shutdown player. Perhaps you never know, didn't Kris Massie shut Buddy down last year.

In (Out)

Hughes --- Hyde

Cotchin --- Tuck

Jay or McGuane to match up against Franklin

Thursfield or Moore to match up against Roughead

Leave the team, leave Tuck alone, he is doing his bit.

The way Coburg performed on Saturday there's not too many knocking down the door. No change for me too although we could bring Cleve in to try to stretch the shorter Hawks backline which is there one weakness.

I'm inclined to agree with this.  Tuck might not be starring but he is still doing a fair bit of the bullocking work that is generally done best by the older, harder bodies.  He hasn't been our worst in the past 2 weeks (not that we have had that many play poorly) and I think he is earning his keep by taking a lot of the knocks in and under, allowing guys like Deledio, White etc to get out and run.  We still need to maintain balance in our structure, even though the kids are now starting to lead from the front.

He does do his bit, he puts his body on the line every game, found under packs fighting for the ball, puts on the blocks needed for our midfielders to break free. This is why you see Tuck chasing midfielders after his body has copped a huge whack & people want to drop him.
Its not going to happen.
give the player more credit  :thumbsup his doing alot more than some are seeing cause their eyes are following the ball. Take Tuck out & you take out midfield protection which is very valuable

I'd bring Bowden in for Hyde despite the success of his tagging jobs last week.
If Joel isn't a better option than Chris, I'll go hey.

They're now predicting 16 degrees and the worst of the showers on Sunday. Might make things interesting if they're right.

Yes, go small and run.

I think we can do this.

i remember a game where we beat the dawks by scoring only 4 goals and it was pelting down.

benny gale kicking the sealer or saved the day by marking on the goal line, cant remember

lets hope history repeats and blingers kicks the sealer

Remember it well Round 3 1995
Richmond 4 16 40 def Hawthorn 5 4 34.
First time we beat the Hawks in 10 years. :thumbsup

16 with hail on Sunday after a Saturday with plenty of rain.
Buddy may not be a factor after all which will suit me fine if the game is a slog in the slop. The way we tackled and have played tough footy the last two weeks we are not without a yelp in conditions such as those especially with the run we have provided. Hawks coming off 3 interstate trips in 4 weeks also could be a factor in the last quarter on a heavy boggy ground.

We have a good record in the wet too. Kept the Pies to just one goal in a half in 2006.

We'll see how much Buddy (dis)likes contested footy.

Ha Ha - VFL 'Artic' Park - The same day the dogs almost held Carltank goaless at Whitten.

Stood in the rain all day on the terrace, figured I was allready wet once I got there so what the heck.

Went home very happy and soaked to the jocks ......

What the theatre goers of today would of thought about something like that  :rollin

If it is wet then it will be a midfield tussel where playing behind and staying down in the marking contest suddenly becomes important. Before that Collingwood game that was mentioned, I remember the Tigers practising wet weather football like before the game. They had obviously been drilled in this style of play all week while the Collywoobles where still doing dry weather drills before the game. As a result we smashed them. I am sure TW will be running through similiar drills this weeks  :cheers

I'm looking forward to the game even more now

If it's wet I'd drop Polak for a smaller player.

The unofficial squad based on watching today's training:

B: Jake King, Will Thursfield, Kelvin Moore
HB: Chris Newman, Jay Schulz, Jordan McMahon
C: Brett Deledio, Shane Tuck, Matthew Richardson
HF: Matt White, Graham Polak, Richard Tambling
F: Nathan Brown, Jack Riewoldt, Mitch Morton
Foll: Troy Simmonds, Kane Johnson, Nathan Foley

I/C (from): Adam Pattison, Chris Hyde, Luke McGuane, Shane Edwards, Cleve Hughes, Daniel Jackson, Andrew Collins

Joel and Petts also trained with the squad but Plough has already said they won't be playing for Richmond.

Putt, Gus and Meyer were also out there but they obviously won't be playing either.
