Overlooked as No.1 in last year's draft by the Blues who took Kreuzer instead. Will Cotch come out tomorrow wanting to prove them wrong?
-
Nah. He'd be grateful. Who'd want to play for Carlton.
(Apart from Judd and Kreuzer :shh In Judd's case that decision calls his character into question. Kreuzer still has the young and stupid excuse. lol.)
-
Yeah he may. If he outplays Kruezer and we win that would be extra salt into the wounds of the Caltank supporters. Cotch is a confident fellow so he would be keen to perform on such a big stage regardless of who we were playing.
To beat his good mate who he has been competing with for years who be further incentive IMHO.
Lets see how he handles a pressure game at such a young age.

He's been receiving the ball from Kruezer's ruck work for many years now. He'd be able to read him pretty well you would think. Might be a bit of an advantage to us. :thumbsup

I hope Cotchin has a ripper, and Carltank fans look on in disgust as Murphy continues to hack the ball around the MCG.
I wonder if Blues fans realise that the reason Murphy and Carrazzo get so many touches is because opposition allow them to. :lol

He was overlooked by the Filth :nopity

Enough motivation there to step it up and outperform Kruezer :cheers

It probably won't be a big deal to Cotch but it won't stop me yelling out whenever he gets the ball - "How could you not draft Cotchin" and "they didn't want you Cotch so stick it up 'em" ;D.

Enjoy the experience MT for you will be watching a future legend of the game :gotigers

This game was a good indicator on how good Cotch will be when you look at Carlton having all those early picks in the likes of Murphy, Gibbs & Kruezer. For mine Cotch showed today considering his experience and preparation that he has all 3 of them covered for sheer natural talent. I loved the tackle he shook off early on with a well balanced foot plant. They played it slow-mo on the tele and it was brilliant. If you look at it closely He didin't actually shake the tackle as such, he used the defender's momentum against himself, planted the foot and the next thing you see is the defender on his rear end with Cotch scooting away for an effective inside 50 which I think resulted in a goal! You just can't teach that stuff. :clapping

agree with you tiga....cotchin is a beauty and will soon develop into a champion..
highlight of the day was obviously the passage of play u described.....not only breaking the tackle but having the poise to deliver the perfect pass too...
cotch just has great vision...one play he took a great contested mark at half back and as soon as he landed, assessed his options...fired off a handball to a team mate and we broke away for a goal.....
also great at the end of the 3rd to see lids and cotch streaming up the middle of the G together with cotchin firing a perfect pass for browny...

Hes going to be a sensational player caught at a club with little idea of getting success. Only Deledio and Cotchin are Premiership Material, whilst Morton, Hughes and Riewoldt offer some hope. We have a long long ways to go.
-
Shame he's had no preseason and can only be used in bursts because everytime he comes onto the ground he shows his teammates how to clear the ball out of heavy traffic and hit a leading teammate lace out. Just freakish awareness, preipheral vision and a brilliant footy brain. Always thinking 2-3 moves ahead like a chess player.
Murphy was the bluebagger Cotchin broke free from in that play tiga mentioned. Even he admitted on Before the Game that Cotch is so strong already.
