Like the scenario on the AFL, the ABC schedule is programmed in advance.
Only games not allocated at the beginning of the season are the final 4 rounds :thumbsup
Big game for the Burger as the CLub is celebrating the 1988 Grand Final - 20th anniversary
-
Rawling will get out coached in this match by Gary Ayres
l see doom

Went and saw Port v Bendigo last week. Port are a damn good team for a stand alone and Ayres coaching has jelled them into a formidable opponent for any team. Flag favourites in my book, most probably will play off against Willy.
Play as a team and for each other which is more than I can say about Coburg, will be going Saturday all the same and hoping for the best. :pray Maybe we as a side can learn something from them and at the same time learn what is required to have a dip in september. :gotigers
-
Port are the in-form side of the VFL and it'll be also tougher with the 12/10 rule.

On ya Cogs :thumbsup
18 RFC players named so 3 up to Richmond and 3 down to the ressies unless we keep a 23rd man aside and fly them to Perth along with the Richmond 22.

Surely one will go as emergency so two to omit.
Hyde and Tivs if we are for real but I'm afraid it will be JoN and Meyer

Nope - 12/10 rule applies this week so only 12 RFC can play
The final side will look very different I reckon ;D

If you are going to today's game at Coburg coming from the city direction (on public transport) take the number 19 tram.
The Upfield train line has been replaced by buses today between North Melbourne and Upfield (Just found out now when I got into the city)
Pete (from 1611 AM 3XX) :cheers

Is this the TV game?
-
No
-
Collins good mark, kicks to Putt for our first.
Port 17 - Coburg 6
-
Port 5.7.37
Coburg 1.0.6
Stuffing around with it, turnovers a plenty.
-
how is the commentator keep on bagging the richmond mentality, gees they must hate us
-
Half time
Coburg 3.6.24
Port 9.11.65
They have every reason to compare the way Burgers are playing to Richmond. Same style, same mistakes, same result.
-
Gee it seems they have gone backwards this year the burgers
-
Rance 17 possessions to the early stages of the 3rd quarter according to the commentators. Collins injured. Coburg are a rabble today.
-
3/4 time
Coburg 1.1 3.6 4.7-31
Port M 6.8 9.11 14.18-102
-
Collo ok. Shoulder strapped up and sent back on only to then get winded in a tackle.
Goals: Putt, Collins, Carnell, F.Caruso
Hard to find a good Coburg player in this smashing. Turnover city and "playing as individuals".
Silvester apparently is doing okay at FB because his opponent hasn't had much influence giving the amount of ball coming down into the Port forward line.
Rance - has had 17 possies. Made a few mistakes but at least he's involved.
Collo - got a fair bit of it but fluffed up a number of kicks by the sound of it (not alone in that department). Commentators said he's done well today before he went off. Back on again now.
Jacko - Running hard and getting it but fluffing some of his kicks and has been caught a few times today as well trying to break the lines.
Cogs sounds as though he's done a fair bit of the inside work but that's about it. Got bagged for giving up on a chase.
Hyde - haven't heard him much. Kicked 2 points towards the end of the 2nd quarter which were called selfish.
Meyer - haven't heard his name that much since half-time.
JON - pass. He's only redeeming feature is he tries but he has no idea.
Petts - bye-bye. Playing like it too by the sound of that ball he didn't attack. Got a bit more of it that quarter pushed back behind the ball.
Coburg have no genuine KP forwards - Rawlings had the 3 rucks up forward at one stage just to give us some height to kick to but most of the time they couldn't get to the contest. Likewise Petts.
-
Collins off for good. No point playing with the game over.
Gee it seems they have gone backwards this year the burgers
Certain Richmond players from last year now playing with Coburg this year might have something to do with it. Likewise RFC players who starred for Coburg last year and now at Richmond.
I counted 11 RFC players: Putt, Collins, Jackson, Petts, JON, Meyer, Graham, Cartledge, Rance, Coughlan, Hyde
-
Rance continuing to get the footy and rack up more possies could have about 25 at this stage. Has his possession count be productive or has he turned it over alot?
Rance in top 2 coburg players today according to the commentators.
-
The commentators saying Rance and Jones have been Coburg's best two players. Jones kicks a goal.
38 - 109
-
Hyde goal
45 - 121
-
these commentators are hilarious, calling players Muppets and Idiots lol ... mind you weve been terrible today. Only Rance has a show for next week.
-
bg25 saying Rance's disposal has been "ok no great"
-

One's a Richmond member apparently so I guess they are being honest :yep.
Fort Caruso gets his second. Called him the Logie lol.
51 - 127
-
Another goal in junk time. Nat Caruso
58 - 127
-
Final Score
Coburg 1.1 3.6 4.8 8.10-58
Port M 6.8 9.11 14.18 19.19-133
Goals: F.Caruso 2, Putt, Collins, Carnell, Jones, Hyde, N.Caruso

Sack Wallace.

Gourdis is not playing CHF why?
-
Disgraceful performance but barely surprising.
-
Sack Wallace.
Rawlings is not doing a good job, either at Coburg or as a assistant...
time for change!!!
-
Reserves score?

Thanks for that!
-
Rance must have had a bad last 15 minutes, he went from top 2 coburg players to not even being in the top 6 or 7.
-
Two things are for certain.
Pettifer and JON wont been seen in a Richmond jumper ever again.
JON simply cannot play and Pettfier is running around like a girl.
When will they give Graham a game? Is bulit like a man mountain, would have to better option that Patto.
What I seen today, Gary Ayres is a good coach with his team being will drilled, pity I couldnt say the same about Coburg,
-
It's hard to tell the bests from the radio commentary. You wouldn't have Hyde there. Perhaps Rance got most of his possessions deep in defence so they didn't rate them or his disposal was shabby. Same as Silvester who wasn't named either yet the commentators thought he did okay.
I asked bg25 if any RFC player deserved promotion next week and the answer was "Nope". Meyer was bg25's best of the RFC boys.

Danny Meyer. :chuck.
Question I ask, why and how did Coghlan play Seniors at Coburg today? Why didht he have another run in the 2nds
Thought Hyde was good actuallly. At least he hit targets, JON kicking was at an all time worst.

Should be interesting to see how our rucks go against big Cox.
Patto needs a rest that much is obvious..
Regarding JON and Pettifer, well to put it simply Jon will be great at Coburg for the rest of his career, as for Pettifer bye bye you little weed.
I don't think we will get anything for him come trade week...
Played the year in the reserves who would be stupid enough to offer up a pick up for the most selfish player ever to walk into Punt Road.
-

No surprises there. Both out of contract too.
How did Gus do? It sounded like he had an ordinary game today going by the radio commentary.
-
Will tell you something about Gus.
Best thing they could do to develop him further is to put better players around him, otherwords, Give him ago at Richmond for the next 4-6 weeks. They have carried Patto for so long with little or no improvement.
At least if Gus is bulit like a player who will give you something.
But the "" brain trusts"" at punt road wont take the risk as they are brain dead. :banghead :banghead.
-
Don't shoot the messenger but Miller said a couple of weeks ago that Gus is lacking some of the agility he had last year after missing much of the preseason with that broken ankle/foot he copped late last year.
-
Gary Ayres would make a brilliant coach at Richmond, as l said Rawlings no chance
pathetic effort from Richmond senior players
-
Ayres had his chance at AFL level and came up short with good sides. He was also at Essendon under Sheeds in the last few years when they struggled.
-

What does that say about some Richmond listed blokes playing at Coburg.
No heart no passion no effort. Why? It stems from the environment at Richmond and the failure of the coaching staff at Richmond who have been at the club well before Jade for failing to teach the basic items of work ethic and intrinsic behaviours pertaining to team success. Sure these boys may be "bad eggs" but Terry has also failed them to a certain extents us as paid members throughout his tenure and himself thinking that we all believe his b/s. The fish rots at the head. Just look at the other clubs and look at ours. The differences and results are stark.

Miller should try watching a game and watch Patto closely :banghead
What I seen of Gus today, I liked. Created a contest and as I said, would be a much better player in a better team
-

Wouldnt be too hard to out coach Jade Rawlings on what I seen today.
Players had trouble negatating the opposition flood, they actually had little idea. Poor effort by Coburg today
-

Interesting
Question for you then Jack based on the above.
What should Gus do when the opposition is lining up for a goal and that is not lookng to off load but actually taking a set shot?
Should he stand half way between the mark and the goal square or should he get back to the goal line and try and whack it through for a behind in case the kick falls short?
Personally I know what I would want him to do ;D
Seriously interested in your reply, actually interested in anyones thoughts, we were discussing it yesterday during the course of the game
Poor effort by Coburg today
Flag it folks - Jack & I agree :rollin
-

Hmm how they could have done with a Riewoldt, Hughes or Morton yesterday ;D

There were 12
You forgot Silvestor
-
Unfortunately Coburg cant find a foward target at the moment, the loss of Jack and Cleve and Morts to a lesser degree have really hurt the structure of the team.

Goal Line. Answer, Its Poor coaching.
Coaches need to watch out for that and to instruct players accordingly

Agree goal line.
Next question - if a players inctructed to do it and doesn't it can't be bad coaching, surely that is the players fault

Its up to the coach.
Bit more time on the bench usually gets the message through.
Question for you, Why did you watch the game out in the cold? when you could of been in the luxury of the warm rooms??? Have you been banned :lol

Because the only place to watch footy is out in the open Jack. It is a winter sport for goodness sake ;) I had a nice warm beanie and scarf - not a problem
I don't think I am banned. :rollin

Match Report Vs. Port Melbourne
ROUND 14
By Glenn Robertson
coburgtigers.com.au
Coburg lined up at ABD Group Stadium on Saturday on a cold but dry day in front of their home fans, but unfortunately there wasn’t much to celebrate.
In a one sided contest the boys suffered their heaviest defeat of the year, as Port Melbourne came out flying and had the game sewn up by half time. The Burger boys kept up the fight right until the final siren, but Port were simply too good on the day.
The Borough kicked with the wind in the first term, and capitalised on it with fourteen scoring shots to Coburg’s two. The Coburg defenders were under pressure all day. Daniel Meyer, James Keogh and Jarrod Silvester, although beaten on occasions, were Coburg’s better players in the backline. With the consistency of forward line entries from Port, the boys did well to keep their opposition from reaching the twenty goal mark.
¼ Time: Coburg 1.1 (7) Port Melbourne 6.8 (44)
Christian McErlain played his best game for the season. He found a lot of the ball in the backline and used his possessions thoughtfully. This was one of the rare positives to take out of the game for the Burgers. Although the backline held up fairly well in the second term keeping the Borough to three goals, the Burger forwards could only manage another two, going into the main break forty one points in arrear.
½ Time: Coburg 3.6 (24) Port Melbourne 9.11 (65)
Coburg didn’t have a pivotal forward as they had done all season. Burgers players including Jack Riewoldt, Cleve Hughes, Mitch Morton, Jay Schultz, Joel Bowden and Kelvin Moore all lined up for Richmond this weekend. All have played telling forward line roles for the Burgers this year, and the boys struggled without a bigman to kick too. Fort Caruso crumbed a couple of classy goals to be Coburg’s leading goal kicker with two majors.
¾ Time: Coburg 4.7 (31) Port Melbourne 14.18 (102)
The boys managed to double their number of goals for the match in the final term, but Port also helped themselves to another five, to run away with a seventy five point win, Coburg’s worst loss for the season. Chris Hyde and Nick Carnell were tireless workers in the midfield and collected plenty of the ball, but they didn’t have enough mates helping them out. Dean Putt, Richmond 2007 draft pick, gave his all in the ruck and also snuck forward to snag a goal.
The Burgers will look to redeem themselves this week as they face Williamstown on Sunday at Burbank Oval starting at 2pm.
Coburg Tigers 1.1 3.6 4.7 8.10 (58)
Port Melbourne 6.8 9.11 14.18 19.19 (133)

Best Players:

RESERVES
The Reserves notched up their eleventh win from as many matches on Saturday.
The boys were extremely accurate in the first half, making the most of all goaling opportunities with ten goals one for the half. After half time the Burgers blew their opponents away kicking eight goals to one to finish with a seventy three point win.
Joe Gazzo snagged five goals, while Jake De Sousa and Rhett Jordan kicked three each. The big test comes this week as the boys take on undefeated opponents Williamstown.
