Title: How many weeks for Solomon's elbow on Ling?
Post by: mightytiges on July 12, 2008, 06:41:23 PM
Just saw it on the news sport reports. What a gutless mongrel. Broke Ling's jaw as well apparently. That sort of cowardly stuff is straight out of the 70s/80s. 7 weeks and gone for the season at least IMO.

Should be a greater penalty than the Hall hit on Staker.
Whatever Ling misses x 3. 6 weeks 9 weeks 12 weeks whatever. Has a poor recent record especially since he has been at Freo. Should be made an example of. That was blatant thuggery to go out and belt a bloke not win the footy. Nothing tough about that.

Freo didn't come to play, just fight.
They're pathetic  :thumbsup

Disagree.

Maybe Hall should have gotten more for his coward act
but solomon should, for no apparent reason,be punished
in any harsher way than Big bad, sooking barry hall.

Both dogs

Well I hope that doesn't makes it OK, that he is supposedly a good bloke off the field ::)

6 suspensions in 30 games for Solly. Great record that  :nope

Agree with you though 6-8 weeks MINIMUM he should cop

If he doesn't then something is seriously wrong with the system

And it looks like Harvey was right!

Freo are a dangerous side - thugs usually are  :banghead

This has to be the most stupid and moronic comment of the year which was posted by some buffon called "Magpie Charlie" on the Superfooty website regarding the Solomon/Ling incident.

Ling should of prepared himself better, held on to the ball too long, should of got rid of it earlier, so only got himself to blame. Solomon had to protect himself, so he lifted his elbow up at the last minute, at the speed he was traveling, there was no way he could of stopped. Good on ya Solomen, at least your not soft. The Match Review Committee has sent Solomon straight to the tribunal. Usually means a minimum of 6 weeks.

Ling is going to miss a month so agree with HT74's equation. Solomon should be gone for 12. The remaining 7 games + first 5 next year.

tiga did you repeat yourself when you said 'stupid and moronic' and 'Collingwood supporter'?  :lol.

8 weeks for Solomon. Will not play till next year, that is if Freo renew his contract as he is out of contract come round 22. Footy career at the crossroads me thinks.

If it wasn't Freo and Harvey wasn't coach he would've just played his last game of his career. At least we now won't have to worry about the thug in round 21.

If Miller has his way, he might end up at Punt road and cost RFC nothing
