Well it's started if you can see it through the thick smog  :-X

Olyroos drew 1-1 with Serbia.

To be quite frank (no my name isn't frank). I'm not really that interested in the game. For this reason alone.
It seem that once they have finished what ever sports they play they tend to head off to do a worlds championship. So why have the game when this happens all the time. Just my opinion.
But here I will say that I like to watch the 1500 swim with Grant Hacket, Boxing and Weight Lifting.
 :thumbsup Thats all folks.  :thumbsup

I wonder if the guy who lit the flame has any eyebrows left today  ;D

They copied Sydney doing the cute little kid thing with their own version of Niki Webster lol but the scroll, globe and the 2d to 3d Olympic rings and dove were impressive. The Aussie got a big cheer too. Got to love all the pollies on their junket getting their face on camera  :wallywink.

Apparently the little girl in the red singing was all mimed and the fireworks outside the Bird's Nest were all fake - prerecorded.  There's also been complaints that athletes families can't get tickets into venues, yet the venues aren't full.

Stephanie Rice has won her 3rd goal medal and scored her 3rd world record in the 4x200 freestyle replay.

That makes it 5 Gold, 4 Silver and 7 Bronze for the Aussies so far.

I happened to change the channel and the games were on and they were playing this game like soccer but they threw this smaller ball. I was actually fasinated with it and watched it to the end. But I don't know what its called. If I was younger and fitter I would have love to play that game.

It's called Handball. It's very popular in Europe.

There was another game of it on last night and it was really good to watch. I wish I was young and fit enough toplay the game. And I also wished it was about when I was a kid. But back when I was a kid if you played basketball you were like an outcast. It was football or nothing.
And Mightytiges thanks for the heads up to its name.

Might be sour grapes but the Tunisian guy had just come back from 18 months out due to doping as well.

Anyway we're doing well provided there's water lol. Reminds me of the Goodies episode where they can't ski so they melt all the ice at the Winter Olympics to win all the medals.

They showed some of last night on Ch 7. That team of Russian rhythmic gymnists were just amazingly freakish  :o.

The most inspiring moment for me so far was that German weightlifter whose wife had died only about 9 months ago in a car accident. It ended up that he had to lift 10kg more than he had ever lifted before in his life to win the gold on his third and the last lift of the night. This was after he had put down his second lift which was 20kg less than his third. He amazingly did it and won before collapsing over the top of the weights on the floor in tears. It put a lump in your throat watching it that's for sure  :clapping.

I for one is very happy to wake up and see Rice in the papers every day of the week.

Bruce can say what he likes about her as far as im concerned.
