This season is effectively over so.....
What advice would you give our club to do from this point on?
What players should stay and go?
Should we change our team structures and play different players in different positions?
Should we change our style of play or concentrate on continuing to reinforce it?
What should be our focus over the Pre-season - fitness, skills, strength, etc
Should we recruit more assistant coaches?
What doyou think we should we do from here?

I think we should top up with older players, trading away all our draft picks.
We're not far off a flag I can feel it, we just need some hacks that look good in other teams, give them fat 5 year contracts and then watch us take the next step..... ::) :lol
Keep our first round pick.
Try to get a ruckman, but not at a ridiculous cost.
I think minimal list changes, Hyde, Tivendale, Pettifer and the rookies apart from Collard to go.
King looks out of favour, maybe trade for a ruckman or late 2nd/ early 3rd rounder.
-
Sack TW and bring back Frawley.
:cheers

Enjoy round 22
Enjoy the Burgers final campaign
And don't trade away our first round pick unless we package it to get one of pick 1, 2 or 3 in the national draft

Thanks but no thanks. I reckon he was a bigger dud that Terry

The starting point-
Keep our picks- take the best available at each pick.
I would trade for Adam Thomson from Port- I can see a direct player for player swap here.
I would promote Collard from the Rookie list.
Hyde, Tivendale, Pettifer, Howat & Cartledge to be booted immediately.
Players like Jake King to be put up (Port Adelaide are showing interest from what I understand)
Danny Meyer to get another 1 year deal.

What's with all the love for Danny Softcok Meyer?

Finally we agree on something.
Soft cok he is.
100% correct.

I think we should trade for a better pick not an extra player given our list. I think cutting players in 08 will be the hardest in years. Beyond the obvious (at least for me) in Tiv, Hyde and hopefully Petts iis hard to pick a standout dud.
I think we should make sure we keep topping up our coaching staff and hire in quality not just people from the 'old boys' club. Free should go IMHO! Caused too many problem in too short a time frame to now be able to work productively within the club.
I think we should work on our Style somewhat. I think we should retain our run and carry game but we should focus far more on shepherding, screening and blocking for each other rather than looking to recieve. We are starting to develop bigger bodies and we need to continue to apply the defensive pressure on and off the ball if we are to make the next step. Teams which are more defensive which out muscle us around the packs and pressure our ball carriers have been our Achillies Heel this year such as Adelaide, Sydney, North and even Collingwood who are a very well drilled tackling team.
Schulz should go forward and Rance back to fill the void. I would love to see Gourdis and Collard given and few games this coming year in the forwardline and Meyer around the ball. Collins should be given an opportunity too if he continues to perform. Richo and Bowden need to stay on the wings next year so both ends can continue to develop as unified teams.

Chin up chaps, its still possible to make it. Only need the Lions to beat the Swans by 150+ and us to beat Melbourne by the same! Not hearing the fat lady yet.
;D ;D ;D
-
We're playing the right team to attempt a 150+ point win, I just can't see the Lions winning by anything to be honest, I think the swans will knock them off.
Sydney should be stripped of all their points anyway for having 19 men on the field.

Sounds good to me. Only trade for a need (ruckman) but as you say wayne not at a ridiculous cost. Another Simmo for Fiora-like 3-way trade would be really handy right now. Otherwise try to trade for another top 25-30 pick to boost our draft options. Schulz and King would be trade bait.
Move Polak also onto the rookie list if we can.
-
We were only able to get Simmonds for Fiora under threat of the first PSD pick
Won't work this year from 8th pick
Would rather take Vickery or stick with Cartledge as a mature bodied ruck, or both
-
If we end up with pick 8 id be favoring taking Vickery. That lad seemed like he could take a grab up forward and play in the ruck.

The 5 year deal we offered also had something to do with us securing Simmo ;). No other club would risk such a long contract. We had Miller then though so I can't see the club offering 5-year deals to players anymore.
I'd be happy with Vickery at pick 8 but I'd be very surprised if he is still around in the draft by then.
