The changing face of Tigerland

The Richmond side that thumped Melbourne by 80 points in the final home-and-away round of the 2008 season at the MCG last Sunday contained only five players who were members of the Tiger team which contested Danny Frawley’s last game as coach, in Round 22, 2004.
Joel Bowden, Daniel Jackson, Matthew Richardson, Jay Schulz and Greg Tivendale were the “survivors” from that Frawley farewell match of ‘04, which took place against the Sydney Swans.
Of the other 17 players in the Richmond line-up that day, just four have remained on the Club’s list in 2008 – Nathan Brown, Mark Coughlan, Chris Hyde and Andrew Raines.
The other 13 – Justin Blumfield, Wayne Campbell, Mark Chaffey, Tim Fleming, Darren Gaspar, Ray Hall, Brent Hartigan, Andrew Kellaway, Andrew Krakouer, Ben Marsh, Billy Nicholls, David Rodan and Luke Weller – have all departed Punt Road since Terry Wallace took over the coaching reins.
Only four other players from the 2004 senior list are still at Tigerland today – Kane Johnson, Chris Newman, Kayne Pettifer and Shane Tuck.
With Tivendale having played his last game for Richmond, in last Sunday’s Round 22 clash with Melbourne, the extent of the Club’s list-management changes over the past four years really hits home . . .

Very weird article. What exactly is the writer trying to prove?
-
Just trying to show everyone they've turned over the list I assume.
More an advertisement or the clubs change than a news article.
-
Don't you know following Richmond makes you bipolar? :lol
-
I think he was without a story so he came up with all that and he could be mates with Frawley. A lame artical.

Justin Blumfield was the most insipid footballer after signing to Richmond.
Classic example of someone chasing $ and not giving a stuff about playing for the club.

Looks like he was just trying to compare round 22 in 2004 with 2008. Only 5 current Tigers played in the 2004 team and there's only 9 survivors with Tivs and Hyde included who are now retired/delisted. Tuck and Moore were emergencies in 2004.

I don't think it was a case of chasing the $$$$ Ox as I am pretty sure when Essendon off loaded him because of their stuffed up salary cap they were paying some of his contract.
I think it was more a case of he didn't realy want to be at Richmond
On top of that I reckon he was only an average player and in a poor side it stood out where as in a what was called a good side he looked better than what he probably was
