Melbourne - The Demons have lots of spots where they need help. Naitanui can do anything they want him to do so that is a great start if they pick him. Naitanui or Watts, the Demons can't go wrong with either player, but maybe they can get a player like Watts in the 2009 draft while Naitanui is more unique. They need more onball options and this draft can provide all they need, Zaharakis, Hill and Robinson would improve their team. Brown could be similar to Garland, a player that can grab a spot as a tall option at either end of the field.
West Coast - The Eagles lost a lot of their midfield to trades, retirements and delistings and can reload here. Rich, Swift, DeBoer and Banner all bring different attributes for midfield roles. Another key position prospect, like Ross, or a ruckman might be who they pick later in the draft.
Fremantle - The Dockers don't have a lot to worry about, they either get one of the two WA star prospects or Jack Watts. Watts is someone who would be perfect beside Pavlich up forward. But even if they do get Watts more help is needed up forward, and Tom Lynch could add a different type of forward to the lineup too. Clancee Pearce might be used at half back while Liam Anthony is someone for an AFL club to try at half forward, or possibly in the midfield.
Port Adelaide - Adding Hartlett would mean the Power have a young trio of talented onballers, Salopek, Boak and H Hartlett. It won't be long until the Power have a large hole in the ruck. Browne would give them a huge ruckman to develop, while Rhys Stanley might be a more versatile ruck option. Another defender is needed too, Alex Stopp is someone they probably consider.
Essendon - For a team that lost Michael to retirement and only has Fletcher for one more year, Michael Hurley seems like the perfect pick. Jetta and Nahas would help down the other end of the field, and the Bombers need a few more smaller players to compliment all their big forwards. Strauss might find a spot in the back line.
Carlton - They need a tall forward and tall defender, McKernan and Klause would be good fits. Heyne may be someone who does more than McKernan and Klause at AFL level in 2009, possibly as a medium forward. Tom Hill could become another key forward option in a few years.
Brisbane - Coach Voss needs to rejevenate the Brisbane midfield and a draft that brings in Jack Ziebell, O’Keeffe and Breust would do that. If those three reached their potential the Lions would have new versions of Voss, Lappin and Hart. Daye is a local player that could be depth in the back line or a possible midfielder, he might have the versatility that Darryl White possessed.
Richmond - Vickery, Schoenmakers and A’Vard would make Richmond taller up forward, with Vickery also being used in the ruck. With Richardson and Simmonds at the veteran stage of their careers, replacements will be needed for them soon. Stanton might be someone used as a midfielder like Tuck is.
North Melbourne - Yarran would change their forward structure, giving it more variety. Shuey might also be used there, while Suban would add to their back line. Taylor Gilchrist is someone to develop for the future.
Adelaide - The Crows get some immediate help with Broadbent, who can play in the back line or midfield, and Ballantyne who has been kicking goals at WAFL level and will provide a small forward option for the Crows. Redden and Cahill are future help for the ruck and centre half forward.
Collingwood - The Magpies have been drafting tall, so when other teams are using this draft to get bigger the Magpies can use it to add to their midfield. Blease and Sheehan will make the Magpies faster in the middle. Smith could be a future small defender. There is a chance that Scott Reed becomes a better player than whomever Collingwood draft before him, so he will be a steal for them late in the draft.
Sydney - The Swans can plan for the future and when Hall and Jolly leave it will be at the time that Johnston and Roughead are ready for AFL, although Johnston should be able to help them in 2009 as well. Bart McCulloch is a project pick for the future and he has a good combination of height and mobility to build on. Kade Klemke might be a NSW player that isn't already attached to a team with the scholarship rules, so the Swans would be a good destination, and there might be a spot for him in their back line soon.
St Kilda - They need another player to take marks and kick goals, and Aaron Cornelius makes sense for them. Will Young is a player a few years away and he could also be a tall forward, or defender. Walters would provide a bit more pace, and Ryan McKenzie could also help eventually in the middle or the back line.
Western Bulldogs - Every time they play one of the contending teams in the AFL the Bulldogs look a bit short. This draft could change all that, as long as the Bulldogs change their drafting ideas, something that does look like it has already happened. Trengrove as a defender and ruckman, Cordy as a forward and ruckman, that would be a successful draft. Adrian Bonaddio is dominating the VFL and he would add another taller player to the Bulldogs' forward line, one that is ready to play right now. Zach Sengstock could be a player developed for the back line.
Hawthorn - A tall defender or two could be what the Hawks look for in the draft, and grabbing both Lisle and Milne would help in that spot. VFL veteran Peter Summers could be a player that adds to their depth, and would be ready to play if injuries hit, something that a contending team can use. Christopher Hall would be a pick for the future.
Geelong - Ranga Ediriwickrama is already there, probably, as their last pick in the draft. Sidebottom and Rockliff would provide depth at each end of the field, Sidebottom could be used as a small defender while Rockliff is depth behind Chapman up forward. Jones would be a player to help in the back line. The Cats went tall last draft, they might go small in this one.

If Geelong were to get Sidebottom & Rockliff I would seriously spew up. They will both be very good players.....

Isn't Ranga also a handy player and they're getting him for nothing as a scholarship player!

I can't see McKernan going before Vickery although I'll be pleased if Vickery slips to 8.
Schoenmakers is a 191cm left footer from Norwood who is mobile tall who can play either end. We really need a big tall forward (196cm size) so I'm not sure we'd go for another Jack Riewoldt type.
Stanton - meh.
A'Vard - don't waste your time with NSW/ACT players. Geelong and the Pies got their best players on NSW scholarships.

We will end up with Lewis Johnson who will be the best key forward available. Vickery is tipped to go to Port

Here's some youtube footage albeit against NSW/ACT. He's a good right foot kick.

Do we like these boys, they look like they could fill a forward spot

They're both not big tall forwards. Johnston is 192cm and Schoenmakers is 191cm although Johnston is bottom age so he may still grow a few cms. Need to wait until the draft camp to get their up to date heights and weights. I didn't mind Shaun McKernan either (195cm) when I saw him play for Vic Metro against WA but others query his kicking.

Johnston has been playing mostly U17's footy at North Adelaide. He's only played 3 SANFL ressies games. Not because he's not good enough to play older age footy but apparently North Adelaide want to win the U17 premiership and being bottom age he's eligible. So some Crows fans are saying Johnston will probably start in the State League ressies (Coburg ressies if we drafted him) given his lack of open age footy.
Here's his stats:

Schoenmakers played 12 SANFL ressie games for Norwood this year for 20 goals.

Compare that to Rich (Subiaco) and Naitanui and Chris Yarran (both Swan Districts) who'll all be playing in the WAFL seniors Grand Final this weekend after playing most of the year at senior WAFL level.
