THE player purge at North Melbourne yesterday intensified after contracted midfielder Daniel Harris walked out at Arden Street following a long-running dispute with coach Dean Laidley.
Harris, 26, who has played 82 games in succession and is under contract until the end of next year, wants to be traded but has not nominated a club of choice.

Harris, one of the competition's best at centre clearances, has asked the Roos to open discussions about his future with all other clubs.
Although contracted to North for 2009 in a deal struck this time last year, Harris this week told coach Dean Laidley he felt his game would benefit by playing elsewhere.
"Daniel's asked to be traded, and we'll go down that path next week," Laidley said last night.
"We're not going to let him go for nothing, though. He's contracted to us, so it is up to his manager and the clubs to come up with the right trade options for us."
Laidley would not speculate on what North wanted in exchange for Harris.

Would he do any good with us or do we have enough of his type of player already. I'm thinking that we have enough of his type now so I can't see us going after him. But you who are closer to the action will have a better idea that I do.

A few of our supporters have always wanted us to poach Harris over the years because he seems to save his best for us :P.
He might be a handy depth player in the midfield for a club pushing for a flag but he's too old and inconsistent and not for us anyway.

Probably just an SEN rumour but they were saying late last night that Richmond and Essendon were interested in Harris. They also said that North were expecting no more than a 2nd round pick for him.
