Title: Trade Week 2008
Post by: WilliamPowell on October 05, 2008, 09:17:19 PM
Well it is finally upon us (well in few hours it will be  :P)

Trade week 2008.

Sadly I am in the country for it this year, while last year I was fortuntate enough to be out of the country and enjoying NYC  ;D

MT, is however relieved I'm in Aust as it means he will save a fortune on TXT messages  ;) ;D

So what will happen  ???

Will the RFC be a mover and trade maker  ???

Or will we hold onto them draft picks  :pray :pray

Whatever happens post it here

We don't need 20 new threads daily on the same thing  :thumbsup :rollin

Welcome to 3 days of nothing :sleep before the domino effect kicks in Thursday once the first big trade is done followed by a mad rush from midday to the 2pm deadline on Friday. A bit silly to make it last a whole week.

At least Craig Cameron will know where the right room to go to is lol. Hopefully it doesn't involve giving up good picks for other clubs duds  :pray.

Ayce Cordy for Western Bulldogs 1st draft pick will happen Monday morning and deservedly so, looks to have a 10 year 150+ game career in front of him (injury free).

IMHO, the new F-S ruling is spot-on as it rewards a team if they rate a junior more highly than an "incumbent" club.  The Doggies will pay market rate as it should be.

Well it was "shock horror" not at day one of trade week

Alot of talking and no action....

What a surprise  :rollin

Is everything going to wait until the O'Keefe deal gets done?

SEN was reporting that ALL clubs made enquiries about O'Keefe

No mention of the Seaby thing, actually said there was very little interest

No interest in Farren Ray

And Schwarz suggested that Laidley had put Hamish McIntosh in the "window" and on the market

Day 2

and another  :sleep :sleep :sleep fest

Why this thing is spread over an entire week is nothing short of stupid

More rumours and no deals

Anyone want to predict when the first deal is likely to take place

I reckon it will tomorrow arvo around 3.48pm  :rollin

Day 3 and I was wrong on the above prediction

Did anything happen today :help

 :sleep :sleep

Hamish is supposedly off the table, why he was ever on thier beggars belief ;D

O'Keefe likely to go to the Dawks.... are they really looking at him as a forward or maybe a pinch hitting MID

All I know is it is bloody boring  :sleep :sleep :banghead

 ;D

Expect a big deal to happen by 12.00pm then the mad scramble (aka fire sale) from 1.00pm to 2.00pm

And then thankfully it is over  :P ;D :help

Until then it's more of this  :sleep :sleep

Win for the Bulldogs

Why bother on a number of levels?  Corrie is no good and neither is pick 93.

Sydney: Rhyce Shaw + Pick 61

Win, win.  I have a feeling Shaw will do very well in the Sydney environment.

Pick 93 just satisfies the trade rules. You don't anymore have to use picks that you've gained via a trade so the Pies got Corrie for nothing.

Good to see the Saints have added some hardness to their midfield  :rollin. Imagine having Ray and Fiora in the same side  :o.

I don't rate Prismall, and if he turns into a star for the Dons, i'll happily eat dog hair.

How well or not Prismall comes back from his knee will be the main decider.
