MELBOURNE has lost highly respected football operations manager Ross Monaghan.
Monaghan, who played a key role under football general manager Chris Connolly, is set to become Richmond's new football manager.
He will replace Paul Armstrong at Punt Rd and will be reunited with former Demon Craig Cameron, who has taken over as head of football with the Tigers.
Armstrong has become the development manager of the AFL Coaches Association.

The speed (and lack of public angst/comment) with which all this has happened makes you think it has been on the cards for some time.

Yup, absolutely agree, shows Armstrong was straight up and honest he was leaving well before he actually left.

That's the way that Paul has always operated and he deserves our best wishes in his new role.
A warm welcome to Ross Monaghan too.

Almost a case of the last person to leave the Dees turn off the lights. Cameron obviously got Monaghan to cross over with him. Not sure why we would poach people from the reigning wooden spooners in their current state but Monaghan also spent 10 years at the Calder Cannons during their successful years.

Didn't even know he was at Melbourne this year until now.
