It's been mentioned as part of the fan training day next Friday that there'll be a sprint to see who is the fastest at Punt Rd.
I reckon Whitey will pip Lids in the race. What do you folks think?
-
I think Lids is still #1, but wouldn't surprise me to see Gourdis win it
Should be a close one anyway
I think the bigger guys will be able to finish off better compared to Whitey's little legs
-
I read somewhere that Whitey was into aths as a junior and took it quite seriously and was really quite good at it. If he trained specifically for running when younger then you would expect him to know a bit about technique. Wouldn't surprise me at all to see him win it. Watching the GF sprint this year he actually looked like a runner. Giving the whole field a head start and still hammering them. ;D

Wouldnt think Gourdis will be involved even if he is training with us, he's not a Tiger at the moment. :-\
And given the way Whitey burned the last 30m in the grand final sprint this year I think his finishing will be fine.

He will be in a week, he has participated in everything we've done so far so why wouldn't he be part of this?
-
delidio ran 10.7sec for 100m at a school meet a few years ago, thats serious speed. if he hasen't lost much of that pace he will easily be the fastest at the club :thumbsup

Lids and Whitey have ankle niggles and won't be running. :shh
In the AFL matches I have seen:
Lids runs quickly with the ball to avoid tackles, to break the lines and to deliver the ball.
Whitey runs super quickly with the ball - out of packs, to break the lines and to deliver the ball,
AND
super quickly to lay fierce tackles. (Plus to the bench when required :lol)
Add Foley to the mix and it won't be long before we have the quickest and deadliest midfield going.

Because he is not a Richmond listed player, so how can he win the "fastest tiger." Makes no sense.
He is simply a player training with our squad, who is trying to get back onto our list at the moment.

They both seemed fine on Wednesday. Whitey especially was flying and breaking lines in the game-based drills ???.

Not so sure about "trying" to get back onto the list, I think you'll find its guaranteed unless another club poaches him
He's trained with Richmond the whole preseason, despite an invite to train with Carlton, he's never trained elsewhere
The new recruits have all been given their new numbers, yet 33 is still vacant, Gourdis' number
Gourdis is not listed as a "departure" from the club in the new report
-
Matty White would be the quickest I reckon
-
MXMLXV is the quickest i heard. In the bedroom that is.
Amercian pie styles his mrs tells me.

Well that's great for the Goo and I'd be glad to see him on our rookie list, but once again he still isn't on our list and wont be on the list on the 12th of December so he cant be our Fastest Tiger. Petty point but it's correct even if we do get him a few days later. It would be ridiculous to have Gourdis compete and win our "Fastest Tiger" if he was then snaffled by another club 4 days later. ;D

Were those Grand Final sprints timed?

Lids' one wasn't timed on his youtube clip.

Deledio won the 100m sprint at the fans training day. Whitey, Foley and Kingy were the others in it. Kingy tackled the mascot 15m out lol.

YES backed the winner onya Lids :thumbsup
-
Lids is obviously a mudlark lol :clapping. Whitey should ask for a rematch on a dry track ;).
-
Lids killed the spint yesterday. Went off track for abit to chase the mascot, then came back running stright and still won by miles.

So true
Wet or dry track I don't reckon it would have mattered...
Put the foot down when challenged, looked to have plenty in reserve
