Tigers help Kim get a shot
By CRAIG HUTCHISON
Edition 1 - FIRST SUN 11 JAN 2009, Page S10

* RICHMOND'S search for a major sponsor hasn't stopped it helping young Aussie athlete Kim Mulhall find some corporate backing.

At just 17, Mulhall is already Australian discus and shot put champion and those in the know say she's a good chance for London 2012 gold.

Mulhall needs sponsors to help her become a full-time athlete and compete against the world's best.

Tiger gun Jack Riewoldt, himself a champion schoolboy with discus and shot put, has thrown his support behind Mulhall.

Potential sponsors can contact the Tigers' office to pledge support.

Just speaking to Kim's nan.  She asked me if I had a copy of the Herald Sun so she could see the article, which I did.
Kim is Gael Mulhall's niece who won two gold at Commonwealth Games and bronze at Olympic.  Her dad Ken played for the Saints.
Kim's nan just told me how great the club has been for both Gael and Kim.  Gael used to train quite a bit down at the Tiges and made good friends with one of the trainers.
She had nothing but praise for the club  :thumbsup
So hope sponsors get on board and help her.

Is the RFC flavour of month or what now :gotigers. Feelgood news stories promoting how good the Club is at every turn  :thumbsup.

There use to be a few Olympians and boxers who use to use the Punt Rd gym in the 80's to prepare and train.

It certainly is lots of feel good stuff, with jack being touted as a gun.  I like Jack and he has potential but don't think he has earned the "gun" title just yet.
