His brother was a good player. ;)
Question?
What year did MG kick the ball backwards and who was it against?
-
1995 Vs Geelong Preliminary Final, pretty sure he'd just been crunched by Ablett and the game was well and truly over !!!
-
He could have been captain then. Ahead of his time :D.
Micky Gale was good old fashioned solid hardworking footballer. Nothing flashy but someone who you could rely on most weeks to do his job. I liked him as a player even when he was at Fitzroy so was rapt when we got him and Brodders together.

never blessed with abundant talent but wore the sash with pride

Undeniable courage

I think it was in 1995 against the Bombers when Wanganeen chopped him in the head and knocked him out. It always made me laugh when Bombers fans used to cane Scotty Turner for carpeting O'Donnell and yet forgot that hit and Grenvold breaking Maxfields jaw.
Good player in the era when we did not get nearly the return on our talent.
