Title: Did the Earth just move for you? ..... Earth tremor in Melbourne

Did we just have an earthquake tremor?   The whole house just shook  ???


Edit: yep just mentioned on SEN earth tremors around Moonee Ponds. I live in the Southern suburbs are we just got one  :o.

I was sitting in my desk chair on wheels and I moved back and forth a couple of inches lol.


Tremor was 4.6 on the Richter scale according to news reports.

Heard a bang but didn't feel anything shaking
My dogs went crazy though and I wondered why they were so upset.

The epicentre hit just north of Korumburra in South Gippsland

That was pretty cool, we were watching a horror movie and it was right at a bit when it was quiet and you knew something was gunna happen, lol and it did  :clapping

Yep. The house just shook again followed by a couple of smaller ones.

I put some clothes on just in case my building came down around me  :rollin

Last earth tremor I felt was back in the late 60's.

I was in my bedroom (15yo I think) reading a book (no computers or mobiles or much of anything really).

Dad raced in and yelled "What the hell are you doing?"

The SES reported the quake measured 4.6 on the Richter scale and was centred 5km northwest of Korumburra, 17km underground.
