Ben Cousins near Anzac Day return from hamstring injury for Richmond

Ben Cousins must be pinching himself: with Richmond coach Terry Wallace under siege, the Tigers recruit's possible return from a hamstring strain has barely raised a mention.
While Wallace's future in Tigerland continues to be put under the microscope, Brownlow Medal winner Cousins is itching to return against North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium this Saturday.
Cousins has recovered steadily since injuring his left hamstring in round one, and he may be a major bonus for Wallace at the selection table. - Running defender Andrew Raines is also recovering from a knee injury.
Whether Wallace - in desperate need of a win - is tempted to rush Cousins back to AFL action without a hit-out in the Victorian Football League remains to be seen.
"It will be interesting to see where he plays in his next comeback game," former Brisbane Lions forward Alastair Lynch said of Cousins, who was put through his paces at Punt Road on Tuesday.
"Will they be brave enough to slot him straight back into the AFL side, or will he play for Tigers' affiliate club, Coburg, in the VFL?"
