My late Grandpa served in France in WWI

I have a complete copy of his service records because they are now available on-line at the National archives. We also have some momentos from time in France....

One item I have is his metal trunk (didn't use suitcases or duffle bags in 1916). It is battered, dented but I have it and believe it or not I absolutely cherish it

I never got to meet him because he passed away before I was born but I wish I had

He was overseas for 3 years

But I have been told many time he never spoke much about the war. He would only say he did what he had to do so he could get home.

LEST WE FORGET

My Uncle Stan is still alive. He's 82 and lives in a nursing home nowdays. He served in North Africa.
