We will still be one game outside the eight plus %
However if we are able to knock off Sydney(big if)
Carlton beat Hawthorn
Freo beat WCE
Ess beat Bris
Regardless of what happens between Coll & North
By my calculations (feel free to correct me) if all of the above eventuates ....teams 9th to 15th will all be on 8 pts with a 2-4 record.
With respect to Melbourne-I feel Geelong will be to good. :lol
-
Unlikely to all fall into place but it just shows you that after all the doom and gloom we are not far behind at all!
Stripes
-
we are miles behind ;D dont let one win fool anyone, its the Tigers we talking about here ;D
-
Yes miles behind St Kilda and Geelong....Dont think theres much betwen 6th and 16th on the ladder ATM.Time will tell-Big month ahead for the tigers.

you forget the problem with our club is not only wins but PERCENTAGE.
you cant buy percentage in a tight comp and we always have a pathetic one every year

Best case scenario.... we flog sydney on home turff and and builds confidence

Given how even the comp is (only the Cats and Saints have kicked away) and being just a game outside of the Eight means we are back in control of our own destiny. We've just got to focus on what we have control of and win up in Sydney this week. Back it up by knocking off the Lions and we should be just % out :pray.

Sad but true.
We need one more win than everyone else because we always seem to be at the bottom of the teams we're tied with. :-\

Boys Boys Boys.....just relax on the percentage issue.Yes it is a concern but still early days. Our victory on the weekend cancelled out the damage our losses to Geelong & Melb caused(in terms of %).Plus you would like to hope that one match this year the stars, sun and moon will align causing us to have a big victory of our own(just like WCE last year)-that cancels out the round one fiasco.
Remember our draw despite a tough start is still a good one and teams like Adelaide & Essendon who are in the 8 with % under 100 still have to play teams like SK and Geelong multiple times.

No doubt mat, but relying solely on precedent, we are not a team that has been able to hold an advantageous percentage against teams with similar wins, if I'm not mistaken.

I think our historically poor percentage may have something to do with the fact that we lose a lot

Sad but true Infamy :help
If there was a such a thing as a ladder of the decade 2000-09 .....we would have the worst % in the comp.87.02%.Even worse than the only team we have had more wins than(Carlton).Still -each year is independant of the last and that provides hope.

Try 1983-2009. The only two clubs worse off than us are now defunct :P

Brisbane 12
Hawthorn 12
-----------------
Essendon 12
Adelaide 12
Sydney 8*
West Coast 8
North 8
Freo 8
Richmond 4*

Oh well that was an ugly six weeks out of the way.
While I only predicted to be 2 and 4 from the first six, the way we lost to Carlton and the Melbourne loss hurt bad and has me concerned about the rest of the season.
On the bright side the way we have been hard at the footy in the last two weeks combined with an easier draw has me hoping for some sunny days ahead.

Horrible Nightmare-ish 6 weeks Chuck....... You know its bad when your mates dont bother giving you sh@t anymore. I almost dont want to say this for fear of being ostracised by my fellow posters but there is a chance we can win 5 out of 6 to nulify this shocking start to the year. There may be more twists and turns to come in 2009.
