Well we all remember last year's matchup with Hydey :help.
Who should get the job on Goodes this time around?
-
I would suggest win the midfield battle and remain as hard at the contest as we were against North - then it won't matter.
-
Jackson at the start I would imagine
-
I'd expect Jackson or Polo if he plays midfield. If he plays more forward, Moore.
-
I'd like to see JON play on him if he goes into the middle. Not for a whole game, but just for experience.
JON has a good defensive side to his game, has more height than any of the other midfield options and also has the speed and agility to keep up. He won't have the tank to play a full game on him, but I'd like to see how he goes.

Sounds like a good plan to me!

Plan A....Daniel "wrecking ball" Jackson
Plan B...Rance
Plan C...Polo

Plan B...Rance
We were discussing this while watching training and Alex's name came up as well. It could blow up in our faces if Goodes is chucked in at centre bounces against Alex's inexperience (switch to Jacko) but elsewhere Rance has the size, athleticism and never say die attitude to be considered as an option for Goodes.
-
Depending where he plays I'd go a combination of Jacko/Rance/Polo.
Reckon Jacko for the most of it, rising in confidence & he's got the motor and the muscle for this task which is a big one.

Another choice outside the square is to place Richo on Goodes. They did play on each other in that exhibition state game last year. The risk is Goodes will do a 'Waite' and run off Richo if the Swans get more of the ball but likewise Richo could hurt Goodes the other way, keep him accountable to a man, and push him back so his possessions are not damaging. Anyway just a thought.

Richo completely dominated Goodes in the all stars game, it could be an option

Rance is a good option as I reckon he has a bit more "toe" than Goodes

Sorry Infamy but you are wrong.... Goodes had a bigger influence than Richo in that game.Goodes was even named in Victorias best.
-
As much as I love the big fella if we play Richo on Goodes we will be playing right into swans hands.Goodes will chop us up badly with Matthews lack of defensive pressure.

Sorry mat073, but I'm not wrong at all. Richo only played on Goodes for a quarter and Goodes in the interview after the match said that he was glad Richo was moved off him because he didn't get a touch. I never said Richo played on Goodes the whole game, in fact these days, having the same opponent all game is pretty rare, even more so in an exhibition match.

Come to think of it -Did anyone have an opponent that game :)

Hang on Infamy....I may just ask you to produce audio proof of this Goodes interview. :lol
