Post by: TigerLand on June 15, 2009, 03:58:55 PM
I had to work near Punt Road on Sunday and saw a big Coach outside the front of Punt Road!

Were the boys going for a road trip?

Apparently so. Tigertime mentioned that they were going on one last week.

I don't think this is a major issue.

We have 30 odd players on the list leaving friends and family for a period of time. Can't get secretive about taking 30 players away for a few days.

Tigers on the town
By LUKE DENNEHY | Sunday Herald-Sun | 21 June 2009, pg 127

MEMBERS of the Richmond Football Club celebrated their win last weekend with a night on the town on Sunday.

At least four players headed to Love Machine in Prahran last Sunday night after a big day out to celebrate beating the West Coast Eagles the day before.

About 4.40am Monday, star forward Matthew Richardson, who is injured, allegedlly was seen receiving a stern talking to by security guards at the nightclub on Little Chapel St before being let back in.

The club shut at 5am.

Witnesses said the players had been ``enjoying themselves'' immensely and had had more than a few drinks.

They alleged some staff had not been happy with their manners.

One club insider claimed free drinks had been requested and there had been some unpleasant exchanges.

Richmond Football Club declined to comment yesterday about the night out.

The players' split-round win was the first for caretaker coach Jade Rawlings, who stepped in after the departure of Terry Wallace.

Joining the AFL players at Love Machine were members of the Melbourne Victory soccer team and Socceroos striker Scott McDonald.

"The soccer boys are always so well behaved,'' one nightclub source said.

However, the same could not be said for Aussie soccer's man-of-the-moment, Tim Cahill.

Numerous media reports last week said Cahill had been ejected from a Sydney nightclub for being drunk.
