LAUGHTER was in short supply at Richmond in the first half of the season, but it's doubtful whether even in the club's glorious flag-winning years was there as many giggles as those thtat filled Punt Road Oval earlier in the week.
New coach Jade Rawlings invited five-time premiership star Dermott Brereton to training to do some specialised work with the Tigers' forwards, with the group including rookie-listed Alroy Gilligan, an 18-year-old goal sneak who came to Richmond from remote Fitzroy Crossing in Western Australia via Claremont.
At the end of the session, the teenager asked Brereton a question - "You played footy, Gordon?" - to which the football icon replied, "Gordon? It's Dermott."
Not discouraged, Gilligan's response was, "You do the cooking, don't you?" Pssst can confirm it was definitely Brereton at Tigerland, and not Gordon Ramsay.

Elroys a superstar comedian, so even if he doesnt make it in footy he would be good to have around the club. Ive noticed some improved performances from elroy lately and I think he will make it eventually.

Think he taught them how to flip a burger and cook a carbonara. And I hear that they ate well before the game :lol
