"The indications are he is about five to six weeks away (from playing) but you get to five or six weeks away and it's only three games before the end of the season so do you play him or not," Richmond football manager Ross Monaghan said on Tuesday.

"He (Richardson) will probably want to (play) but the expectation is five or six weeks but that might change and in three or four weeks, we might be saying he is still another five to six weeks away."

Monaghan said Richardson's recovery was going well but that the circumstances of the season might discount against him in whether he plays again this season.

Yep put him in cotton wool for the rest of the season. A couple of others carrying injuries yet still playing could join him. Make sure everyone is healthy and right for the start of preseason.

Hmmm.

Personally I'd like to see how he recovers from the injury before I make that decision as incoming coach.

I agree Magic.

People need to brace themselves for the fact that he might not be there next season.
He is a legend of the club however that does not guarantee him a place on the list next season, regardless of what the president says.

Fine to put him in cotton wool, but what if the new coach taps him on the shoulder? I'd be disappointed if he's played his last game already.
