Had to get on here:
Umpiring has been worst I've ever seen. Finally just got a free for Silvester against Hale.
<bronx cheers>
Good first half, we're over possessing the ball a bit. Stick to our new ways and just attack long attack long.

How does a drawing mentality sound?
im sure if you see a Tom Scully running around in the yellow and black you wont be thinking about a meaningless draw against North.
be proud they did well just not good enough to get over the line.
this game proves how good Jack R and Moron will be.
ALL THEY NEED IS HELP IN THE FORWARD LINE:

I was cheering for North, believe me. A small part of me wanted us to win, though. :P

Tigers blow it as Roos force a draw
4:54 PM Sun 19 July, 2009NORTH Melbourne caretaker coach Darren Crocker has his first premiership points, after his side recovered a seven-goal half-time deficit to draw against Richmond at the MCG on Sunday.
Leigh Harding’s third goal put the Kangaroos six points clear with barely 90 seconds remaining, but Mitch Morton replied to salvage something from the ashes of a game Richmond had several clear chances to win.
The scores finished level on 12.13 (85) apiece.
A thriller looked highly unlikely when Richmond piled on four late goals to take a 42-point lead into half time. But five goals to one in the third quarter cut the gap to 16, and the opening two goals of the final quarter brought the Roos within a kick.
Goalless after the eight-minute mark of the third quarter, Richmond had a string of opportunities to seal the win late in the final term.
A bad turnover wrecked a promising attack and a mark to David Hale, whose straight kick put his side in front for the first time since Harding’s opening goal.
Richard Tambling then hit the post with a set shot from just 30m.
The result leaves Crocker still searching for his first win since taking over from Dean Laidley after round 12 this year.
Lachlan Hansen kicked the game’s first goal inside four minutes but the first half was one-way traffic from then on. Led by Robin Nahas (two goals) and the busy Jack Riewoldt (three), the Tigers carved the game open with five unanswered goals.
North counterpunched briefly in the second quarter, but conceded four goals in time-on, and it wasn’t until the 14-minute mark of the third term that they were able to eat at Richmond’s lead.
With Brent Harvey inspiring the stuff, Harding kicked his second goal, before Hale, Corey Jones and Andrew Swallow chimed in to unexpectedly breathe life into the game.
The Tigers received a double blow ahead of the bounce, losing in-form pair Ben Cousins and Trent Cotchin to illness.
Both are expected to be fit for the clash against Essendon at the MCG next Sunday.
Full report and details to follow.

Yep I am going to look forward to a Tom Scully running around for the Tigers and Tigers losing, then putting up with people on here sooking about we never win and then say in 2 years people calling for a coach to be sacked and a tank fest again because we need to re-build
Yep I am really looking forward to that - should be sensational :thumbsup

Cheer up GR. We simply ran out of juice with a young side. The umps helped North get back in it too ::). Remember we didn't have Foley, Cuz or Cotch in the midfield yet for a half we spanked them out of the centre and should have been 10 goals up at half-time. I was more worried going into the game we'd get beaten comfortably today with no Foley, Cuz or Cotch out.
-
yep, and I looking forward to the announcement of yet another 5 year plan ::) ::) ::)
Or maybe a 10 year plan now that Gold Coast is coming into the comp

Cuz & Cotch yep a massive difference ... Foley er.... NOPE. Don't think he would have made much difference at all :P

Even simple people can see that if we get the right coach in and he stickes to playing the kids, get some luck on draft day and we get better at developing our young stars, things will turn around at our club and we will be a force again. Get these things right and the 'winning culture' will take care of itself.
It's looks to me that you are the one on here SOOKING!
And just on the re-build, i'm not really sure if we are trying it again, i don't think we ever really went down that road properly with TW. Picking only a few kids in each of the drafts while he was there. We have a chance to pick up 6-7-or even 8 young players to our club in this years draft. Not all will make it but out of those 8 maybe 2 or 3 will be 100/200 game playes. Do the same for the next few years and that will be a re-build.
I only hope you stiill care enough to be watching WP. Chin up!

WP, i'm not really sure why you are so upset?? As you have said on here before, you are against tanking and that's fine but do you think we are tanking? I don't, i think we are playing more kids and actually playing better but still loosing. The facts are we just aint that good. We need a bit of luck with selecting our next coach and even though you don't agree, we need a really early pick and the priority pick. :thumbsup
-
ya chin up WP.
Post - 3 games
Vickery - 5
Nahas - 13
Hislop - 15
Rance - 11
Graham - 14
at least we are getting games into this
+ Cotchin, Morton, Edwards, White, McGaune, Thursfeild, Polo, Rewoldt
less 50 games.
-
Yep agree with BT and Bentleigh on this.
Get the game time into the kids, a few good draft picks and while I have written off 2010 maybe 2011 onwards with a young team maturing can mean some sustained winning times.
