Good to see Polly is okay and playing.
Not looking good for Rainesy if he's starting on the bench although Thursday team listings are meaningless these days.
Cleve obviously gone playing in the VFL ressies.
I thought everyone said Putty wasn't too bad last week yet he's been dropped? ???

Well he is named in both squads
What happens if we have call up of a tall for tomorrow ... Putt would then find his way to Coburg seniors

all of those best players may find themselves in the team next week :o
-
Strange how we havent experimented with a Gourdis or Gilligam since Jade took over, would have liked to see either one debut to be honest.
Are we honestly going to look at bringing Simmonds or Schultz back in with there futures surely decided either way? 2 games to go I would have thought a Gilligan debut shows alot more than 2 more games to a Simmonds or Gilligan. I wouldnt mind seeing Gilligan and Nahas roaming Riewoldt and Posty. and having 30 metres clear from the half forwards..
-
this is really pathetic from those Richmond listed players!
how on earth can so many AFL listed players get beaten in the VFL!
seriously!
this is a problem. that Craig McRea must be useless!
Jade Rawling probably will not coach Richmond next year, but i bl**dy hope he stays at Richmond and coach's Coburg!
probably the players are useless full stop.
-
Gourdis has been injured. Gilligan is not ready.

We can not "experiment" with them because they are rookies and we have only 2 places on our list for elevated rookies. One is held by Nahas and the other Silvestor
-
Nahas occupies the free rookie after 11 rounds spot. Who is on the LTI at the moment? We have Richo, Petts and Cotch gone for the year.
Gourdis is injured. Probably won't be around next year anyway.
Coburg today had 12 RFC players - Silvester, Putt, JON, Schulz, Hughes, Post, Moore, Gilligan, Patto, Thomson, Raines and Simmo. Werribee had just 5 Kangaroos.
Browne played in the ressies.
Polak didn't play so his ankle mustn't have come up.
Coburg has crashed in the last 10 weeks. After being 5-2 and in the top 4 they've lost 8 of their last 10. If they had won today they would've been back in the top 8 given Collingwood and Sandy lost.
-
Actually come to think of it perhaps no-one is on the LTIL
Certainly Petts & Cotch aren't

Ta WP. So Silvester can't come in again either then.

funny how that corresponds with the time that rawlo left them....he's a coach in the making rawlo, not yet at tigerland he aint...still too raw...he'd probably be better served leaving to a finals bound club in 2010 and cut his teeth with an expereinced coach...Id love to have him at coburg...but something tells me he's ready to move on :thumbsup
-
I think it has more to do with the players that were promoted from Coburg to the Richmond side at the time Rawlings took over
-
Think you will find its the assistant coaches who have always been the problem at Richmond
McRae, Rawlings, Royal, King, all should have been shown the door along time ago & we wouldnot be in this position
Blind Freddie could see that, there the ones teaching the skills :rollin :rollin

WERRIBEE TIGERS v COBURG TIGERS
CHIRNSIDE PARK
SUNDAY 16th AUGUST
The Burger players and supporters headed down the highway to Chirnside Park in Werribee on Sunday to take on eleventh place Werribee Tigers. It was a must win game for the Coburg with a loss all but ending their hopes of making the finals. It was hard to pick a favourite heading into the game with a very tight battle predicted.
Coburg were strengthened by the return of full back Jarrod Silvester, but lost star Joel Bowden to play his farewell match for Richmond.
In blustery wet conditions it was clear a highly skilful game was out of the question and the harder team at the ball would come away with the four points. The first quarter was low scoring with only three goals kicked for the term; two of those to the Burgers giving them a slight seven point lead at the first break. Troy Simmons was again a dominant player in the ruck giving the Burger on ballers first use of the footy. His marking around the ground was also a standout
Coburg Tigers 2.3 (15) Werribee 1.2 (8)
Both sides traded goals in the second term, although both were inaccurate wasting easy goaling opportunities. It was a delight for Coburg to have Silvester back in the side as he dominated across the backline and single handily put a stop to numerous Werribee forward surges. He was also well supported across the backline by Kelvin Moore who held multiple contested marks. The scores at the main break were level with just four goals apiece.
Coburg Tigers 4.7 (31) Werribee 4.7 (31)
The third quarter continued on similar to the first half with neither side able to open up any type of sizeable margin. It was a hard scrappy type of game that seemed to suit both sides. Jay Schultz was Coburg’s key target up forward taking numerous contested marks and providing a great lead up all day. He finished with a match high four majors and was one of Coburg’s better players. Alroy Gilligan was Coburg’s only other multiple goals kicker chiming in with two goals. Werribee took a three point lead into the final change with the game still well and truly up for grabs.
Coburg Tigers 7.8 (50) Werribee 7.11 (53)
In a do or die last term for the Burgers the boys gave it everything kicking three hard running goals for the term. Andrew Raines and Adam Thompson both lifted and provided great drive out of defence, but unfortunately it wasn’t quite enough. Werribee kicked four straight goals for the quarter and ended eight points ahead as the final siren sounded. Burger coach Craig McRae would have to be proud of his teams efforts, but disappointed that they couldn’t come away with the four points.
It is still mathematically possible for Coburg to make the finals but results will have to go their way. This Sunday see the boys take on the Northern Bullants at NAB Oval starting at 2pm and the reserves at 11.10am.
Coburg Tigers 2.3 4.7 7.8 10.9 (69)
Werribee Tigers 1.2 4.7 7.11 11.11 (77)

Best Players: J. Silvester, T. Simmonds, K. Moore, A. Thomson, A. Raines, J. Schulz
RESERVES
The Burger reserves continued on their winning streak defeating the Werribee Tigers by twenty seven points. The Burgers were in control for most of the game but had to fight off a fast finishing Werribee who got within a couple of goals late in the third term. Ryan Allan snagged three majors for the winners while Ben Considine played his best game for the season. He was well supported by Jason Morgan, Lachlan McQuilken and Jason Morgan.
