Title: Robert Shaw- Hardwick would make outstanding coach at Richmond
Post by: Ramps on August 16, 2009, 11:02:21 AM
According to Robert Shaw who knows Hardwick and seen his development as a player and coach he would make an outstanding coach of the Richmond Football Club. Apprenticeship has been outstanding. Premiership experience at 3 seperate clubs.

I agree with Shaw! :cheers

Because Knights told them they had a good list that would make the 8. Now Essendon know the truth and rumblings over the last few weeks that they made a bad error.

oh, of course, they would have employed such a simple minded criteria...Now you listen up for a minute partner, we're not arguing the toss over the new tuck shop menuu here, it's sa candidates ability to manage/guide/lead 50 people...if you reckon that measure comes down to a flippant remark on his outlook then more fool you....Knights flogged Hardwick through the interview process, and I wanna know why...Now reload.. :shh

I'm worried if Hardwick comes the circus of "The Savior" has arrived will start up again.

I almost hope it's Hinkley so expectations and media lessen.

good to hear.  my fav is still hardwick but as long as we dont' appoint rawlings i'd be pretty happy. and this wasn't based on the past two weeks.  even early on in his rein i wanted us to get an external coach.

If he is the best candidate out there.
Forget the process, offer him the job tomorrow.
Otherwise the Kangas will make an offer, and we could miss out

Would think at the moment that it is

Hardwick $2.10
Richardson $2.80
Hinkley $3.50
Rawlings $8

Rawlings has been 8-1 to 250-1 in the last 24 hours

Hinkley would be close to favorite and would be ahead of Richardson in my book.

I would like to see Hardwick get the Gig.

Then I'd like to see him take the football dept on the Kokoda track. Sydney did it and won a grandfinal, Hawks did it and won a grandfinal. We should do it too, it's a tough track, learn team work, learn to help your mates.

I'd also like to see discipline really put in on the group, one stuffs up then they all pay the price, make them reliant on each other, make them protect each other, make them work for each other. Some 5 am swims in the bay in the middle of winter might pull a few heads in.

Goodluck Damian, hope we get to see first hand what you have got.

The rumblings might be a bit quieter now with a huge win over the Ainter's and sitting in the top 8

After watching most of the Saints/Bombers game last night and seeing what Collingwood did to us on Saturday, I wondered what affect those results might have on Richardson's chances?  After all, he was development coach at Collingwood when many of their current group of good young players were just starting out and now look at Essendon.  Food for thought.  I don't think the race for our coach is anywhere near as cut and dried as some make out.

Agree. Think Richardson ticks a few boxes that Hardwick doesn't but is outwardly less hard-nosed. From the interviews I've read he presents quite well and it could be enough to get him over the line. If its a straight out head coach appointment then I'm for Richardson. If we were going for a DoC and a head coach then for me Hardwick comes right back into it as the two concerns I have about him - never coaching a side by himself and his communication skills - could be helped by a Sheedy-like DoC.
