A caller to SEN believes Hardwick will poach Hawthorn's Strength and Conditioning coach Peter Burge over to Richmond.

Whispers on 3aw said Hardwick may poach Andrew Russell and Peter Burge from Hawthorn who are their fitness, strength and conditioning staff.

A change in fitness and conditioning staff is overdue. We've basically had the same staff since Spud was coach. Having a reliable and permanent training base and new facilities at Punt Rd (end of 2010) will help also.

The few stuff ups this year with players playing when they shouldn't have or going back on the ground while injured would have the fitness staff and medicos under the pump.

And let's not forget or underestimate the impact of running out of condition in almost every single game this season - children's bodies or not.

good.  there doesn't seem to be alot of skinny blokes down at hawthorn.
