It's taken me over 2 months to come up with my low points of season 2004 but finally part 2 of OTP's review of season 2004 is on the main page
http://oneeyed-richmond.com/ontheprowl/article0711.htm
See if you agree..... I think I could have really used that little Tiger Cub during the course of the year :help ;D
Also, the On the Prowl Archives are now available.
If there was an OTP article you missed during the course of the year they are now all readily available on the following link:

And what would OTP be without a trivia question.
It is a "Who am I?" rather than a "who said this?"
-
Only cult hero was Andy Goodwin and by my reckoning he played till 1991.
Over to you guru of the trivia.
Cheers
Trivia Princess lol
-
Who am I?
"I was born in 1963 and played 59 games between 1984 and 1989. I played mainly in defence and was a bit of cult hero to the Tiger faithful.
I was thinking Goodwin too Trivia Princess ;D.
I'll go for John Manton although I would've thought he was a cult dud rather than hero ;).

Yes - Johnny Manton it was. I labelled him a cult hero for 2 reasons:
1/ He took bad skill and being dud to a new level in his day - all others since had aspired to match John Manton's feats ;D
2/ I used to sit behind the cheer squad in the old Southern Stand and I remember there were these blokes who would yell out "Johnny Brownlow" everytime Manton took a mark ;D
The book I took the question from says that Manton left the Tigers after a "falling out" with coach Kevin Bartlett - I wonder if Johnny's ever been back to the club :rollin :rollin :lol :rollin

Can anyone tell me what number John Manton wore?

:rollin The beginning of a 20 year tradition :P. Something tells me next year a certain weekly award will be renamed the Johnny Manton golden turnup award as a tribute ;D.

Geez I've forgotten. Number 11 comes to mind.

:lol :lol
And that looks like Andrew Pursor (sp?) from Footscray in the background.
-
I think John Manton might have been No. 38.
-
Well it looks we might have restored the Legendary status of one Johnny "Brownlow" Manton...
He scored a mention is the current edition of the FTB's "Blasts from the Past"..
And aren't there some beauties in that list.............
Ty Esler
Gary Frangalas
Terry Keays
The forgotten Cloke in Peter.......................
:rollin :rollin :rollin
-
I recognised 5 of them. :o
I think Allan Edwards borrowed my mum's hair for the photo.
I thought Laurie Fowler was Francis Bourke. The photo's too small to see the imprint of Nicholls' face on his forearm. ;D
-
There was also Peter Czerkaski (I think) No. 28
Btw WP, I realise you're in holiday mode an' all, but could you please put me out of my misery and let me know if John Manton was 38 or not. The suspense is getting a bit much. :rollin :cheers

I am not 100% sure myself TS - that's why I asked the question. But 38 sounds right to me.
