This guy is a stuffing rat.
Jumping on the bandwagon but didnt have the balls to do it in the competition he runs.
-
that's nonsense. What's the link?
-
what a joke,
The AFL boss said his code had been forced to take similar action in the past.
You’ve seen how we’ve done that in recent years with Carlton and Melbvourne.
you didnt strip Carlton or essendon of their premierships in years they cheated the salary cap.
squirming slimy little maggot.
-
You guys need to check yr history.
Carlton's cheating was in 2001 and 2002. Jackson was CEO.
Anything before that Dimi was at the AFLPA.
He became CEO in 2003. Ess were fined 80k or something like that for a breach. it wasnt a big deal breach. This Storm thing is huge. People are gonna go down for fraud. It was systematic.
There isnt a relevant comparison or an issue u can whack dimi with.
-
The bummers really big breach was in the mid 90s
-
what a fool he didnt need to make any kind of comment on this matter it has nothing to do with AFL.
Now his words will come back to bite him because of the stupid comparison he has made with what nrl has done to the storm and what LITTLE afl done to melb and carlton.
-
Melb breached the cap in 1999. Dimi was at the AFLPA then.

Yeah, fair enough, my bad.
Yet,
Melb breached the cap in 1999. Dimi was at the AFLPA then.
Why then does he mention Melbourne and "we"

Thanks Al.
I think if you read it in context it makes perfect sense:
The AFL boss said his code had been forced to take similar action in the past.
“The fact they’ve come out strongly is something we would applaud. You’ve seen how we’ve done that in recent years with Carlton and Melbvourne. I think it sends a strong message to everyone, to all people involved in the industry that serious matters of this nature will not be tolerated. I’m not privy to enough of the detail but it sounds like it’s a very, very serious matter," he said.

when the breach was discovered and the penalty was given that cypriot prick was boss and as ox said he never had the balls to punish carlton properly
and we all know why
dick pratt was the man who helped gomez cypriot in teh business world and they were very close
there was no way dimii was gonna punish carlton like he should have bec of pratts ties to carlton
-
Carlton were punished harshly. it has taken them years to recover, the bastards. the breaches were b/w 1998 and 02 or something like that. They didnt date back to 1995. So how could they strip that premiership?
u guys need to try and separate these issues. yr talking crap and u know it.

So if i retract my personal slur, the "you" in my statement is in the same context ;D

While we are talking about relevance, what's the big deal about Dimi being a Cypriot?
-
And i couldn't give a rats about Dimi, or Carlton, or Melb, or Essendon to be honest. i just don't think the issues are connected.
What's happened at the Storm is huge. An enormous story with startling outcomes. people could go to jail over this.
The comparisons with the AFL aren't valid.
-
Storm might not survive this. Players will walk for better contracts who were on funny money. Basically they are playing for nothing for the rest of the year because they can't earn points.
-

he is what he is
he calles himself a proud cypriot so why cant i call him a cypriot
i cant call him an italian, he aint good enough

I dunno, they were only over $300k per year over the last 5 years, it's not that much money. I think the majority of the salary cap breaches were 3rd party payments and payments to player managers.
-
people could go to jail over this.
How? What civil law have they broken?
-
it's Fraud.
-

I don't know about jail time, but you'd think that the Storm would have grounds to sue Waldron for some form of corporate fraud.
-
They have been presenting a fraudulent document to the auditors. It's a crime. Watch this space!
-
as long as taxes are paid and there is no cash in hand so to speak, i dont think they can go to jail for fraud
sure they lied, they broke the rules but have they broken the law, dont think so, unless of taxes were not paid and earnings declared to the ato
-

lying is not a crime, not paying taxes is
-
Oh well, let's wait and see. The fall out is gonna be spectacular.

Somewhere in the dispatches I read that the matter has been handed over to the police. Also expect the tax man to get involved.

If they have cooked the books as a public company or understated their tax obligation as a commercial entity then you're right CR, they most certainly face the possibility of jail. What I am struggling with is that it was all the fault of one person. Something this big and complex had to have more cast members than just Waldron.
-
Mate that's for sure. Wally and his rats

Carlton's cheating was in 2001 and 2002. Jackson was CEO.

You're right CR, Dimwittyou didn't become CEO until 2003. It was Jackson who handed down the penalties for Carlton's cheating in 2001 and 2002.
However, just a few points:
1. In 2001 Carlton were fined $125,000 and draft picks for breaching the salary cap that year.
2. In 2002 they were fined $987,000 and further draft picks for systematically breaching the salary cap between 1998 and 2001. My point being that their cheating went back a lot further than just 2001 and 2002 as you state.
How far back did their cheating go? Well in 1994 they were fined $50,000 for minor breaches. I'd wager that their 1995 premiership was not completely above board.
The salary cap was introduced in 1987, also a Carlton premiership year. With big bad John Elliot at the helm back then, thumbing his oversized proboscis at the lefty socialist AFL trying to kill free enterprise, and drag everybody down to the same level, you can bet your life that a few members of the Carlton side that year found themselves registered employees of Carlton and United Breweries.
I'd love to see the AFL lighten their trophy cabinet of a couple of stolen cups.
-
Mate, don't get me wrong. It would be brilliant if the scum lost their cups. All i was doing in this thread was refuting the original ignorant post by Ox.

Yeah, that's cool. I wasn't having a go at you, I just enjoy highlighting what a pack of cheating scumbags Carltank are.
-
Pack of silver spoon sucking cheating mofos! >:(
-
What I hate most about them is how unrepentant they were about their wrongdoing though. They're like your typical unreformed criminal. Sure they sat out a couple of drafts, and it set them back a few years. But when the AFL went all soft, and changed the rules the year we finished last and should have had the no.1 pick, Carltank so openly and shamelessly lay down for a third of the 2007 season just to steal what was rightfully ours.
And now their illiterate scumbag hordes chant "KKKKRRROOOOOOZZZ" everytime he touches the ball, just to rub it in to the rest of the comp what they did to get him.

what makes things worse, is that they are still cheating now!!!
-
Yeah, exactly X-Files. Judd "the environmental ambassador". Seems the only thing we can smell cooking down at Carlton is the books.

exactly and who knows what else pratt and carlscum did for judd to lure him across
even his tart sems to have gained out of that deal

well said sir
-
Bent mate, you need to have a read of the thread i think.
-
Demetfagg0t was the league's football operations general manager during the time Essendon and Carlton cheated - was he not?
the no.2 behind jacko
-
so which premiership you taking off Carlton?
-
Carlton
B: Michael Sexton Stephen Silvagni Ang Christou
HB: Matthew Hogg Peter Dean Andrew McKay
C: Milham Hanna Brett Ratten Anthony Koutoufides
HF: Dean Rice Earl Spalding Matt Clape
F: Greg Williams Stephen Kernahan (c) Brad Pearce
Foll: Justin Madden Craig Bradley Fraser Brown
Int: Scott Camporeale Adrian Whitehead Glenn Manton
u reckon that was under the cap?
Dermie does not ...
-
You said they should be stripped of their premiership from when they were found cheating. they weren't found cheating in 1995. And if you have to rely on Dermie to back yr argument, then that argument is lost my dear fellow!!
-
i am not trying to find an argument my dear fellow in this case.
all i am trying to do is outline the Storm did indeed cheat - salary cap wise - very similar to Carlton FC, Essendon, Sydney fc (a-league) etc.
the storm were only 200k over the cap ... (1 mill approx over 5 years)
got a very raw deal imo. more so when you note carlton only lost a couple picks, essendon had nothing happen to them, Sydney fc got off almost scott free due to the owners owing both the league and the club (Lowy) ...
-
Fair enough ol' Bentley. Have you read the thread? I think there's a few misconceptions that we managed to iron out.
-

Justin Madden eh? So taking payments under the table is not new to him these days.
u reckon that was under the cap?
Dermie does not ...
