Title: Honestly
Post by: WA Tiger on August 14, 2011, 06:59:46 PM
Honestly......Hardwick is only doing the the same as every other selfish coach for the the RFC has done.....He is coaching for HIS job.

He should be playing players like Hicks, Post.....ra ra ra..

At least Bailey was smart enough to coach for the future.

Honestly what did the win do for us against Sydney....NOTHING!! Nothing but keep the feral small minded short sighted supporters at bay.

We need that pick ahead of the Crows like a cure for cancer. Watch next year when the crows have "that" player and everyone will be complaining like they did when Sanchez kicked the winning goal against the Dees.

HONESTLY WE DID NOT NEED THIS WIN.............IMO.... ;)

Bask in your glory now.......it Will haunt us!!!!

This isn't going to cost us pick 1 & 2, or a priority pick, it's pick 10 or 12!!

I'd rather see a win.

Great win but too little too late. The win doesnt hide how far behind we are but still a win is a win.

Just leaves me more frustrated that todays team lost to Port and GC.

The only downside is not the picks, its too late for that, its the fact that we have all but guaranteed the Bummers now playing in the finals.

Today's win was more then just a meaningless win against another bottom team.
Today we played 4 good quarters against a mid-table side that are a very good(besides at MCG). So yes we might lose a draft selection spot by 1 place but we gained confidence in the game plan and players in each other. Hopefully today's win leads to a strong finish off to the year and a big pre-season.

Yep, can't say we won because the opposition had put the cue in the rack.  Be interesting to see some of the theories trotted out this week by some posters.

4 competitive quarters and a win, wont happen every time but it happened today.
Exceptionally please with a few players.
The draft pick would be sensational, but bottoming out deliberately is unnecessary.
At this point in the season Im sure dimma and the coaching team have already put some lines through players names, and at this point I hope they would be playing for the pride and respect they lost. "stupid??"I know, they should have done this earlier on but they didnt and now they have to live with that.

The only thing thats gets me is that teams like Essendon, Melbourne, Footscray were playing for finals births and they are really not that far removed from where we are IMO and if we didnt give them a headstart or fall away in the last quarters we could have beaten them all.

I still think the turning point was the loss in Darwin, I dont care we sold the home game, that doesnt matter. It was after that loss the boys lost confidence in everything and never really got it back.

Im rambling but who cares, show us some fight tiges and yes drop some poo performers and give some kids a shot too.  :)

I thought it was a good win for several reasons....

1, I was very happy with Dea's performance today. On past occasions he made silly mistakes under pressure but not today. Showed some good signs for the future.
2, Every time when the Swans hit us with some scoreboard pressure we responded.
3, We still got a win even though the likes of Jack, Dusty and Foley had below average games.
4, Essendon must be weeping into their kleenex to see how good Houli really is....GUN! Talk about the fish that got away.  :clapping
5, Rance had another cracker and is getting better with every game.
6, We beat a top 8 team. Nuff said.

Sorry mate but I find it hard to fathom how you missed Post on the ground. How much of the game did you catch?

I don't understand how you can make a comment about a game and its value or lack thereof when you didn't know who's playing and possibly didn't see much of it.

Anyways......

you are amazing WAT.

Thanks Damo, my wife says the same.... :thumbsup

Why win now....oh hang on...hope, spirit lifting, great for the young guys....PLEASE, it was the same last year.

What do I want, I want to win games.....games.....not a game, games. Games we should win, games that would see us in the 8...... Is there a problem with that..

It was a good win, i guess if you were there you wouldve been impressed. It was a 4 quarter effort. Watching Rance destroy Goodes was something else. Seeing Graham actually take grabs was nice and as usual watching Edwards and Jackson run around in circles was frustrating.

I do agree though, if anything it makes you more frustrated as a supporter that we lost the plot since Darwin.

That loss destroyed our whole season and these wins, although meaningless are better than losing.

Talk of anything else other than a good win are nonsense. We generally do well against the Swans at the G, no matter where we are placed on the ladder.

We still have massive issues like Dimma needing to clean out the list and get some experience in his coaching panel if we are the move forward.

If the alternative is playing like the rabble-esque Port Adelaide  , I will take meaningless wins like today every time.

The million dollar question remains why couldn't we play with similar passion and commitment against the Power and the Suns.

I was thinking yesterday, maybe the players are playing for their contracts and decided to extract the digit  ;D
But I hate losing, so it was a good win, although the game was pretty sub-standard, especially in the first half!

It was good to beat a side that has had to wood on us. Agree with comments about it being a 4 quarter effort by the team. You need to create a winning culture. To beat a side that had everything to play for is a good sign. Losing for the sake of getting draft picks is going to get you nowhere look at Melbourne

For me the positives were as follows:

We beat a side that had everything to play for
The Swans were virtually at full strength
We won without Chris Newman playing
Cotchin led from the front
The Swans are a dour side that has troubled us in the past. We met every challenge they threw at us and should have won by more
Houli has been a great pick up for the club
Jack, Grigg, Nahas and King played well. The tackling in the forward half was really good
Rance and Lids were very good. Rance has improved greatly this year and is job on Goodes who has killed us in the past was very good.
Martin showed great spirit despite having an off day
Football is about winning games. Winning games brings higher memberships and more sponsors. This club should never tank. Although it was a good win against the Swans we are a long way off being a good side and I realize that and am not going to get carried away with the win.  We need a quality ruckman.

WAT, if you were there, you would understand this was not just a meaningless win.
We pumped a good side who had everything to play for.
We were led by kids, who played very well.
The club needed this win. An eff knows i bloody well needed it for my mental effing wellbeing!
