Richard Lounder had one good game too.

Shane Morrisson had one good game too. For Brisbane.

Ray Hall had a good game to in the 2001 2nd Semi.

If missing a goal from 3 mm out and missing a target with no pressure in open play by 20 metres late in the first quarter with an open fwd line and two free players is classified as a good game...........

Edwards will never be more than just a player.

But he setup a miller goal - never mind that miller was the only player in the 50

afl standard players don't miss that many gimme goals, the expression can't kick over a jam tin was invented for this bloke. That up and under off the side of the boot went 3 meters and thing is it's not a rare occurrence  :lol

Not a player

Your keen TM. Up at 6:55 on a Sunday to bag Edwards and might I say justifiably. Been playing on your mind all night lol. :lol :rollin :lol

Agree with you and most not a footy player I see blokes with similar size like Stokes Byrnes Betts
even Fasolo in his second year do more in 20 second cameos that what Eddie the Eagle Edwards has done since his debut.
Not good enough.

Take the blinkers off coach.
Edwards is obviously contributing in a way Hardwick wants him to otherwise he'd have been dropped don't you think?
Watch the good things he does out there as opposed to focussing on his errors.

Tambling is playing the role Dimma wants, that's why he's getting a game. You guys need to take the blinkers off. He's doing what the coach wants. Required player at Richmond which is why he's playing.

Gee clearly you don't go to games because most people who have 2 eyes can see Edwards and Hackson are getting gifted games for 2 reasons only

1. Dimma and co don't rate anyone else to take their spot
2. His playing Favourites

Someone who barely touches the ball for 90 minutes cannot justify a game but we are Tigerland of course so I expect Edwards and Hackson to play 200 games

The football department has a better handle on what players roles are than you or I.

Are you are aware for example WAT that Edwards was number one in pressure acts for the club last week?

Not important you say??

If Dimma drops him then fair enough but I'd suggest he's a long way from that.

Standby for another hissy fit.. ;D

Pressure acts.

hahahaha heard it all now

90 minutes of football touches the ball SFA but as long as he has a few pressure acts its all good.

He is only getting gifted games because well there's no on else. No depth

SE tackle count in 3 games this year

4, 0 and 4

8 tackles in 270 minutes of football.

Yep thats it guys pressure acts are keeping his spot in the team

Mate he won't drop him, I know that and I didn't have a "hissy fit" or havent had one for the last year when he should of been dropped.

He might have a role at the club but what is it, perhaps they are getting him to turn the ball over on purpose so our defence has more practice at rebound football or being prepared for the unprdictable....who knows. If that is the case he is playing brilliantly.... :thumbsup

Yes, but who are they written by?
Some of Edwards' plays are so quick it challenges my eye on a high def telly. How on earth are the buffoons drinking in the standing area going to know what he has done?

Edwards is just another lightweight flanker who has little impact on a game.

Another relic from the Wala$$ era.

He can beef up another 10 kg and his impact will be that of Cory Bell or Scott Bamford.

You want to know why Titch gets a game?

He does do what the coach asks of him every week, follows the game plan and works his frikin behind off for his team mates.

His work off the ball is what a lot here don't see. The unglamorous stuff that any coach loves in footballers.
Covering for players, standing in gaps, pressurising the opposition, working the corridor up and down..
He has an excellent tank and busts his behind defensively all game when guys like Martin, Maric & Riewoldt are sucking for air at the end of a match.

Another of Shane's strengths is that he takes risks. This can look bad if it goes wrong which many focus on but equally it can look fantastic when it comes off.
His hands are elite. Unlike someone like Jackson, Edwards has a VERY good footy nous and regularly sets up play which results in attacking passages of footy for the Tiges. When Cotchin kicks that goal, the guy who gave it off is often Shane.

Sure he has weaknesses. His footskills do let him down too often and he's not winning enough of the pill but he is nowhere near as bad a player as he's portrayed as by some on here otherwise he'd have been delisted as one of the 30 odd players who've departed in the last couple of years.

He may be upgraded in time but for now he is in our best 22 and still may improve yet.
Dimma's a fan and he's popular with his team mates.
Hope he has a great season culminating in playing finals.

Some of us actually do appreciate him.

Agree with most of that Magic, I was a fan early doors but he just hasn't come on as hoped. Went backwards last year.

The thing is where as previously he was average but probably 10-15 on our list, he is now 20-25 on the list. That's a good thing. If he doesn't improve he will go out the back door pretty quick now.

Just look at Dookieberry clinging onto the bowl for proof

Stop potting Y&B. Good blokes over there

Agree, Oxx. Sometimes things just don't magically click for blokes who have already been around for years with 100 or so games under their belt

Yep, as much chance of Edwards becoming a better player now as we have of beating Geelong this week.

Having said that I expect to see Shed running around for Richmond for the next 4 years at least  :lol

Great forward press Gents, Mickey Malthouse would be proud  ;D

Shane Edwards plays like a fast bowler who can't consistently hit a decent line

Some of the comments in this thread are a disgrace.
Shane Edwards does have deficiencies with disposal on the odd occasion, however he gives it everything he's got when he runs out for the Y&B... he runs all day, is great in contested situations and never hesitates to put his head over he ball... something I suspect all posters on this site would baulk at. >:(

I agree Magic. Edwards does some brilliant things on the field at times, things that no other Tiger can do. He just needs to do them more often. Sure his accuracy by foot needs to improve but his reflexes and ability to get out of tricky situations is exceptional.

^^

This comment is flawed,if not by one line.

"He just needs to do them more often"

80% more often.

In the carlton game edwards did a few great/clever acts.

Its just the shocking mistakes either side of this good form that is the killer. Id keep him ib the seniors ahead of jsclo.
