I started barracking for RFC in 1985 when I arrived in Aus ( maybe it is all my fault), nearly 30 years of pain!!
While not illegal, it is definately frowned upon to change teams.
However when players change clubs their families also change their allegiance.
If you could change, who would you follow if not the Richmond Tigers?
-
I hate Carlton supporters so much I would barrack for the Pies. The enemy of my enemy is my friend!!

No one, without RICHMOND there would be NOTHING :shh

Reported this and I'm not joking. Sick of the immature users on this site. Editing people's quotes are not funny, especially when the person doing it is illiterate despite wanting to become an english teacher.

I voted no one, just cant replace what the tigers stir in me!
Would probably follow the suns as an interest if anyone.
Maybe an interest In bombers for my fathers side :banghead :chuck did I just say that?
-
I would turn to basketball and follow the Melbourne Tigers a little more aggressively.
Go Tiges

With pain and disgust I ticked Western Bulldogs.
DESPISE THEM.
However, ive lived my entire life in the West.
The truth is, if Richmond was no longer, I would go back to my VFL roots and go to Williamstown games, and also Altona in the local comp.

Hawthorn, and I'll explain why:
-I originally chose Richmond when I first came to Melbourne in 1971, because most of my mates at Primary school were Tiger fans. So was the neighbour who took me and my Dad to the G to see our first game, so I guess I can thank/blame him.
However, there were certainly good portents for me to have followed Hawthorn at the time, if I'd known:
-They won their first ever flag in 1961, the year I was born
-They won their 2nd in 1971, the year I started following footy (as I said)
-As a friend of mine once said, a lot of their supporter base seems to be made up of angry Poms, so I gues I fit the bill there too.
-If I'd have been able to look into the future and see the 30 years of misery that lay ahead for Richmond compared to the glut of Premierships through the 80s,90s and Naughties for Hawthorn, then yeah I would definitely have chosen the Hawks. But like that robot kid in AI, once you make that imprint on your soul, for better or worse, you are stuck with it.
-
If the Tiges packed it up I probably would too but I do admire the way the Swans go about it.
-
Tigers are the only team

Ridonkulous. I make a good club sandwhich. With two pickled onions just for coach.

Hawthorn as I have grown up in a Hawthorn family.
I wouldn't change a thing though other than a few more finals and a few more flags.
Whilst Richmond have tested my patience they are a part of my psyche and the next few years will be reward for people like us.
Cannot wait for the roar on Grand Final day in the last quarter when we kick a goal and we know that the drought breaking Premiership will be imminent to all at the ground. :thumbsup

geoff ogilvy says right back at ya :clapping or if you prefer tiger fanatic Marc Leishman :shh

Have always had a soft spot for the Swans, from way back in their Sth Melb days. Don't know why, no family history, maybe just felt sorry for them when I was kid as they were perennial losers back then. Whatever the reason, if we were to fold I reckon I would end up following them but I can't imagine it would ever be with the same passion as the Tige's.

I'm talking about Boston. I fly over a couple of times a year
-
I would no longer closely follow football if I didn't follow the RFC. I enjoyed watching the Lions rise in the 2000's.
-
Having lived in Perth for 24 years... dockers...maybe.
-
Only because I live and have lived in the West, I'd say Footscray

Not like Nought.
At least there is some sort of character at the Dogs despite their frailties.
I can remember wanting them to win the 97 Prelim then laughing my head off when they didn't.
Fast forward to 1999 Grand Final and I was only one of two blokes at a mates GF bbq who didn't give a rats tossbag who won. Talk about conflicting emotions glad the Cheats lost but couldn't care less that Nought did.
My toilet roll holder has more character and soul than Nought.

After 32 years of misery and despair following the Tigers and being the butt of all jokes from every other poonse the other teams can go and get stuffed. I have earned the right to be a Tiger for life and if it's my lot then so be it. I would follow no other....never...ever...eat em alive

You can stay, the rest of you so called "supporters" can go and get stuffed.
-
My grandfather lived in Richmond and loved the tigers. I jumped on board too and never looked back.
Can't imagine supporting anyone else.
But with years of poo since '80 I've learnt to appreciate great footy as well as great players especially great organizations that continue to produce a high standard of acheivement.
I will always hate the cheating scum!

Swannies = respect.

The club is based in Mandurah, south of Perth near Peel inlet.

I am the same, had every chance to barrack for the Hawks, worst still, my wife barracks for Hawthorn and asked me last wednesday who was playing in the GF.
That is truly hateful.

Best thing you can do now is ask her who won.
