Dimma said the Club has to decide on who will be promoted off our rookie list in time for the start of the season by this Tuesday arvo.
So who do we all think should get promoted?
-
Petterd for me
-
Yer think it definitely has to be Petterd. Though wouldn't be shocked if it's Stephenson.
-
Not sure, I think it might be 2
-
Is Foley on the LTI list seeing as he's expected to be back rounds 5-7? Because then we'd get an extra one.
-
Has to be Petterd.

Can this be done ?

What happens when Foley comes back though? Heard Dimma say in the presser that we have to do it by Tuesday this week
-
Voted for Relton Roberts

My understanding is clubs can have 38 - 40 players on the main list and 4 - 6 on the rookie list.. Currently we have 38 on the main list and we can list up to 40 as long as the total is 44 overall..
Correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe we are able to elevate 2 onto the main list without any long term injury listings

This was my impression too.

Yes it can. The number of games required for the player to be out though was extended this year to 5, which might be why Dimma said Foley is aiming for rounds 5-7. Previously you were allowed to elevate one rookie pre-season, and one mid-season. Last year Miller was our pre-season elevation and Addam Maric was elevated due to someone listed as LTI.
-
Hopefully we can elevate 2
-
Pettard.
-
I selected Lonergan ... Why???
If Petterd plays, he will take one of these players positions;
Ellis, Vlastuin, Houli, Morris ... IMO, these four should be playing round 1!
Add Chaplin, Rance and Griffiths ... the round 2 add Grimes.
Lonergan adds more inside midfield.

Good point Torch
i went Ricky because he is more veratile,. ie can play forward, back and mid
-
I voted Pettard and Lonergan. If Maric goes down Vickery will have to 'man-up' and become our first ruck. Griff to the forward-line and Grimes down back.
-
Pettered because his "sweeping" off the HB line has freed up Newman to play on and FWD of the wing whcih is a win seeing Newman's penertrating long kicks seem to be back
-
Not sure. Don't have many inside mids which would mean Lonergan but can see the point about the verstility of Pettard and can see the advantage of OS in case Maric gets injured. Believe all three have shown something in NAB cup.

In the frame: rookie list special
By staff reporters

Sunday, March 17, 2013
Eligible clubs have until 2pm on Tuesday to nominate rookie elevations to fill vacancies in their primary lists and cover long-term injuries. AFL.com.au examines where your club sits and which players are in the frame to be upgraded.
RICHMOND
Players: Ben Darrou, Sam Lonergan, Ricky Petterd, Orren Stephenson, Steven Verrier, Cadeyn Williams
Status: The Tigers can elevate through the nominated rookie rule. They don't have any long-term injuries - although Nathan Foley remains a bit of an unknown - so at this stage they will have to use the rule if they want to elevate.
Clubhouse leader: Petterd, Stephenson and Lonergan have played the most with Petterd the most notable in a new role at half-back. The decision to elevate will come down to what the Tigers think they need more; Petterd's work in a position he played in as a junior that could release Chris Newman up the ground, Stephenson as a back-up in case Ivan Maric gets hurt or Lonergan on the inside in the event Foley is out for n extended period. Petterd is probably leading.

petts is a monty , playing him at HBF allows us to push up ellis and newy...he's looked good lthroughout, sure with his hands and cool as a cucumber. I tellya though if Lonners continues with the scintillating form he will be knocking the door down. bare in mind though that the tigers midfield is harder to break into than Fort Knox right now :shh

Stop disrespecting Kayne Pettifer. Ricky has a nickname

Well if we can't call him Petts should we call him Terds?

Petterd has been very impressive in the pre-season and should be elevated at some stage, BUT we need to bring Stephenson into the side as our first priority to give big Ivan a decent chop out in the ruck. Vickery's pinch-hitting at some centre bounces is not enough, and we need to ease Maric's workload.
-
Yer play Stephenson against the Cats. Funnily they have no healthy rucks left. Stephenson would be no.1 if they'd kept him. :lol
-
Yep it's tempting to manage our ruck stocks and play Maric on average for 4 weeks and then give him a rest with the Big O filling in for a week. We play the Eagles in Perth I think in round 5 which will be tough to win. Save Ivan the flight over to Perth and let him rest up for Geelong the following week.
As for Petterd, as others have said he's a dead cert. to play round 1.

Five players are expected to be elevated from rookie to senior lists before today's 2.30pm deadline.
Richmond can nominate one player to be upgraded for the season.
Ricky Petterd and Sam Lonergan appear to be in a head-to-head battle for promotion to the Tigers' senior list.
RICHMOND
Rookies: Ricky Petterd, Sam Lonergan, Steven Verrier, Cadeyn Williams, Orren Stepheneson, Ben Darrou
Richmond hasn't decided which of its rookies to upgrade, given ex-Demon Petterd has been solid all pre-season and former Bomber Sam Lonergan was exceptional in the wet last weekend. Lonergan might have to bide his time but Petterd is more versatile.

It's Petterd and the Big O
Richmond has promoted mature-age recruits Ricky Petterd and Orren Stephenson from the rookie list to the senior list in the lead-up to the opening round of the 2013 season.
Petterd and Stephenson have been rewarded for their impressive performances during the Tigers’ pre-season campaign.
