23 possies at 83% efficiency, 11 marks, 3 in50s and a goal.
Surely has to get the Rising Star nomination this week.
-
Great disposal today, very good
-
This bloke is void of fear.
-
A grade footballer IMHO.
-
Yeah, another example of FJ's ineptitude.
-
Goes good
-
Magic Door kicked 6. So Flossy will probably miss out for another multicultural feel good story.

How old is Daw?
Good question. Been on n0rfs list for a while so might be too old to qualify :shh
-
They'll change the rule for Daw if he's too old. :help
Anyway if Daw is eligible he will get the nod this week.
-
Whoever slips one of his tackles deserves the brownlow IMO

Daw is 22.
You have to be under 21 on Jan 1 and played 10 games or less before the start of the season to be eligible.

So Daw is too old.
Go Floss :thumbsup.

Yep Go Flossy. :thumbsup

Only way he's getting out is if Flossy regurgitates him in time for the Brownlow though. Poor bastard hunts players like he hasn't been fed for a month. Not good enough Richmond, give him a stuffing feed at Thursday team selection night. :banghead :banghead
Got hounded down on BF pre-draft for saying Flossy will be better than Wines. Go big Floss doing me proud today.

Fast Michael voss
I think many of us stated his highlight reel reminded us of Vossy.
If he can be even 75% of a player as Voss, we are in for a great ride!

Double kicks of Ollie wines :shh

Vlastuin wins Rising Star nomination
By Ben Guthrie
11:26am AEST Tuesday, May 14, 2013
RICHMOND'S top draft pick Nick Vlastuin is the round seven NAB AFL Rising Star nominee.
Vlastuin collected 23 disposals, hauled in 11 marks and kicked a goal in the Tigers' important 41-point win over Port Adelaide at AAMI Stadium on Saturday.
The 19-year-old was selected by Richmond with the ninth overall pick in last year's draft after an impressive draft year captaining Vic Metro at the 2012 NAB AFL Under-18 Championships and for the Northern Knights in the TAC Cup.
Vlastuin made an immediate impact at the Tigers in an impressive NAB Cup campaign, but coach Damien Hardwick made him wait for his debut, eventually receiving the call-up against Fremantle in round five.
Since then he has become an integral member of the Tigers' side, adding toughness and determination in multiple roles around the ground.

Que the Norf crying

I don't think Tigger will ever be a flashy/X-Factor player but he will be a relentless workhorse and possibly a general in the mode of Voss. He reminds me very much of Conca with his attack on the ball and our second tier midfield is beginning to look very potent for the future.
Well done Vlas! :thumbsup :cheers

Well done Vlas. Well deserved

Look at Tiga's(?) sig, that looks like a bit of x-factor to me. Or do you have to be aboriginal to have x-factor?

Don't wanna start a bag the first year player thread, but has anyone seen him use his left? Saw him go with the outside of his right but that's just one kick :thumbsup

Floss will be on SEN between now and 7pm.
Summary
* Lids and Jack stood up as leaders against Port with Cotch not there.
* Knew Richmond was one of the bigger clubs when he got drafted. Glad to go anywhere but was wrapped to join the Tigers as he could stay home in Melbourne. Loving every minute of it.
* I think he said Essendon, Collingwood and Geelong didn't speak to him before the draft (as they expected him gone by their pick). Melbourne did speak to him (SEN guy said you dodged a bullet there Nick ;D).
* Debut - Dimma said you've been doing everything right but couldn't get in ahead of others. He might have debuted earlier but Dimma didn't want him debuting as a sub.
* Favourite position is in the midfield. Got a couple of injuries now so I can squeeze in there now. Needs to earn his spot long-term.
* Had a surge in girl attention since being drafted but hasn't taken notice of it/got time for it.
* Nickname - Routy, Flossy or Tigga. Prefers Tigga as he grew up with it.
* Hangs around with Conca, White and down the beach with Astbury.
* Tucky's nickname is "Horse" because he just keeps on going and working hard.
* One of the SEN's guys said that Brendon Lade told him that Vlastuin is one of the toughest youngsters he's seen come into footy.
-

All of good character these three. This is why I really hope Astbury makes it. Strikes me as a very leveled headed, intelligent kid whenever I have spoken to him. The more of these types we get into the club the quicker our culture will change for the better.
What I also love about Conca and Tigga is they are both natural ball winners who fear no one. Only know one way to play and will demand those around them to play in the same manner as they gain in experience.

2 lovely left foots kicks just then, but awkward an action but perfect execution :thumbsup
-
We have one here.
He will be a serious player.
-
Great to see opposition players 'quicken' when they know he is lurking ;).....great pick-up.
-
You know hes a player when Lingy gets moist talking to him
-
Loved his game today and reads the game the a 200 game player. Great pick up FJ.

Gun!

Reminds me of Michael Voss.
Gut runs, uses the ball well, gets plenty of it runs and carries and when he tackles they stick.
Will be captain after Cotch bookmark it.

Robbos Tackle
6. Vlastuin and Ellis
Sounds like a Hungarian legal firm, but no, they are Richmond's emerging stars.
We've said that before about Richmond's draftees and if you want a laugh, have a look at the club's drafting history. Get the feeling we won't be laughing about these two.
Ellis has been described as not having tricks, that's if you don't call ball-finding ability as having a trick. Had 39 yesterday in his 29th game - his first 30 in his career - while Vlastuin, in just his fourth game, had 25.
His give-and-go down the MCC wing and pass to Dustin Martin in the third quarter was a wowee moment.

Bummer fans on bummerblitZ are mad that Ellis had 40 touches and apparently it was only against Melbourne, "a team we struggled to put away until the dying minutes"

I agree. I would even suggest that Conca is ahead of the other two at the moment given the form he was in before being injured. Our last three first round picks are all solid, classy players. We have recruited and developed well here :thumbsup
Next step is to find a quick elusive forward/wingman.
Foley is an inside mid and depth player now. Tuck the same. Newy matches up on the 'high-forward' that pushes up the wings which every teams seems to have now but sits mid table now in terms of our midfield depth too. I just hope players such as Arnot and Helbig can make a case to remain at the club.
The negatives to our midfield for mine remain Jackson and White. Both have strong positive attributes (Jackson's athleticism, strength and leadership and White's speed, endurance and core strength) but both have major flaws to their disposal and decision making. Jackson's decision making and disposal were particularly ordinary at times yesterday.
The positives for the future are clear though when a player like Vlaustin, in his first year and after only 4 games, shows such great execution and poise. Our midfield will be the best in the comp in no time
