Easy answer, Ty's a favourite ;D

No Surprises.

when ty rucks its not like we are one down in general play... sorry orren
-
Yessss Big Vick :clapping
-
Your stuffing kidding me
You'd have to be dumb not to make that change. Stephenson is useless around the ground. We did better when Maric was rucking last week anyway. Vickery sets up alot with his work off the ball and provides a good tall marking option. Mcguane is no good as second tall. He's good on the third best defender

All of a sudden Vickery is a champ. :banghead will be easy to look good against a leaking backline.

That Brissy side is very ordinary.

Provided some excellent tap ruckwork to our boys who were well on top in clearances.
In so many words he did what was asked of him.
Vickery was always going to come back in when available.
-
That Brissy side is very ordinary.
Wrong, with Andrew Raines on the bench it must be an strong side to keep a gun like him out of the starting line up

You are being facetious,....surely.

Better still, what did Vickery do that Stephenson didnt?
Ty's worst is as good as Stephensons best unfortuantly
Didn't take opportunities away from Jack, miss goals or stuff the defensive 50 either.
Hard to do them things when you never make it out of the center square by the time it's another ball up :lol
-
McDonough getting closer 8)
-
Should have been Stephenson/McGuane out, McBean in.
Vickery averages 1 goal per match. Hes been held goalless for half his games this year. Not good enough for a supposed 2nd tall.
Bring in the Beaner!
-
That Brissy side is very ordinary.
We need to be careful not to underestimate them. They have some good young players like Zorko
-
as ive said previously, i hope they use vickery in the same way they used stephenson, as a second ruckman, and not revert to a forward giving a chop out in the ruck.
let him ruck for a large portion of the game and test his mettle.
-
If Jack can get on top early they will have to swing Merrett back, and with no Brown that's a serious whack to their fire power.
-

Believe I read somewhere that Ty has been doing 40% of the ruck work, only classifies as part time 2nd tall
-
stuff!!!
Edwards out Nahas in!
He wasn't even an emergency!

Not Robin!!!!!!!!!!!! :pray
-
he'll be hungry to get his spot back, could surprise
pressure for spots is something we haven't had for a long time, pressure for FINALS spots is something we haven't had for eons
let's see how he goes
-
why name the donut as an emergency then when someone can't play bring in nahas who was not named as an emegency?
Why?
Huh? Huh?
Please explain!
-
cause Robbie threatened match committee with a turkey slap

Will probably provide more than Edwards has for most of this year

Edited for accuracy. :thumbsup
-
McDonough deserved a game based on performances in the twos. I think this is bad selection.
-
Nahas super sub off the wing. McDonut stiff through. Ideal debut for the young tyro!!!
-
Really liking the support for Duncan Donuts. I miss him.
Steady on, JT

That's actually clever and funny.

Strange decision if you ask me. Would have loved to See McDonough and was the perfect opportunity to bring him in given his form and swap like for like. We must really be playing for keeps this year - experience takes precedence over potential. Very different approach to our past match selection decisions.

Golden page of classic OER banter :thumbsup
-
he will be sub and sook and then we can stuff him off
-
Bit crook today but I would have gone if the donut played. As it is I'll rug up and watch it on the telly. Nahas is probably being played to pump up his trade value but I am well and truly over his many limitations. Bring Matt and Liam in against the GWS.

I have had 15mins to think about it and I am now officially filthy that Donut was overlooked for Nahas. What is this, his 5th chance this year ffs >:(. Surely Matt (and RFC) would have more to gain from him being the sub this week.......smacks of the ridiculous decision to go into the game against Sydney short one tall defender ::)
-
Seriously, McBean is better skilled below the knees than Nahas.....and he doesnt fall over......and he can stick a tackle....and he doesnt drop marks.....and.....

Yer I worked it out that it's his 5th chance this year and 6th game. He has been dropped after every game except one.
-
Every team needs a scapegoat
-
Although I dont like Nahas as a player anymore because we have found better talent, I hope for his sake he can string some games together. He could apply some serious forward pressure if he lifts his game. That being said, I definitely dont prefer him over Edwards but lets see how he goes.
-
Huge win last week, finals bound, yet one disagreeable selection is cause for a few to skip the game.
So soft I would wipe my ass with em. Unbeleivable.
Im on my way to the States. Gonna miss the whole freakin finals series (I'll fly back if we make prelim). Go and watch every tiger game you can. Cherish it. Cherisshhhhh itttttt.

Lovely 'turn of phrase'......... and display of hypocrisy Willy.... :clapping BTW: 1st quarter, 2nd touch, Nahas on his left side 30 metres out, turns back inside and loses a shot on goal ::) Enjoy your trip :)

Shouldnt play again. Was nowhere near it today and a missed opportunity to give a kid like the donut a game.

wheres the hypocrisy you talk about? :huh3
I too am stunned that someone would not attend a game just because of one team selection. That is petty and pee poor.

The fact that he also didn't go to game.....for whatever reason........and as for your last comment I did say I was crook.......and hey Al, football isn't the 'be all and end all' for me so it doesn't take much to dissuade me from going. Why does it matter to anyone else if I go or not anyway? That you or Willy would concern yourself with my attendance is a little discerning. BTW did you enjoy Robin's game today ;D
-
not sure what you basis for saying willy didn't go to the game is, but I cant see anything in that post to suggest that was the case.
Also, I dont recall seeing a post by you saying that you were not going to the game because of the selection of Nahas, or even that you were not going for that matter, so that was never aimed you.
You obviously did not the read the post in question, but why would you think it was aimed at you?
-
Willy was there
Saw him trying to pick up some security guards but they wouldn't give him their numbers :-*

"I'm on my way to the States" (Willy quote)....."gonna miss the final's series" (another)......and that was in response to my statement that I was crook and another reason for not going was the selection of Nahas.....your'e not playing games are you Al??

Doppelganger?

No im not playing games. One poster specifically said that they were not going to the game because of the nahas selection. (That was the target of my post, and id be pretty sure it was of willy's to. he never quoted you, nor was his post directly after yours.)
Now, to me anyway, that is worlds away from not attending games due to international travel..
Im pretty sure you have misread/misinterpreted things here.

REPORTED
For sprouting mis-conceptions, misreading and mis-interpretation has never occurred on OER
-
Probably me.
I said it last time he was given a game and I'll say it again.
If Nanas plays another game I won't be going to that game. If the match committee don't take that game seriously I won't either. It's not like we don't have better options now. He had his shot and he's poo. He could've & should've been traded when his currency was good and they stuffed up. Simple as that. He shouldn't play another game, ever again.
And I'll say another thing, if Vickery wasn't 200cms and 23 years old with potential written all over him then I'd probably feel the same way about big "side show bob" too. Officially the most frustrating player on our list by a mile. :banghead
Apparently a smart guy but a very, very, very stupid footballer.

He did say 'few' in his response which suggests a plural context....but hey if it wasn't directed specifically at me that's ok...I still think his comment was unsavoury.
-
Nahas was poo. Vickery wasnt far behind.
-
Nahas was poo. Vickery wasnt far behind.
Thought he did fairly well apart from that brain snap 100 metres
-
I thought Ty was brilliant in the first half. That dish off to the runners through the middle, was some of the best footy I have seen this season.
His second half not so good, but that was reflected by the rest of the team also
-
Nahas was poo. Vickery wasnt far behind.

That 100 metres was BS. The ump overreacted twice....and I reckon he did ok as well. I would though like to see him jump for the ball at the centre bounce rather than adopting the Gus style of rucking.
-
that second 50 was a result of the brisbane player jumping in front of the the bloke who was manning the mark as he ran down field to take his position.
Still cant work out how that was another 50, but the umpiring was total crap today, at least we got our share of pox decisions our way.
-
Reiwoldt and Vickery are poles apart when it comes to footy smarts.
Eg 1). Jack fumbles ball in forward pocket and handballs over his head to a running Morris. Result:Goal to us.
Eg 2). Jack outmuscles defender 30metres out directly in front. Ball just about in his hands when out of nowhere Side Show Bob cannons into his teammate & ball spills free, jacks almost injured and the lions get an easy rebound. Result: Goal to Brisbane.
Reiwoldt proves his awareness of what's all around him as he just knew where Morris was.
Vickery doesn't seem to know who his teamates are most of the time.
I truly hope he improves this side of his game but I'm not sure its possible.
-

I think Vickery (from the vision) was in his ear all day complaining about not getting frees. Maybe it was payback time. Overall I reckon we had the best of the umpiring.
