CONS: Both players very inconsistent. Rule of thumb you dont trade talls at Vickerys age.
PROS: The trade addresses list deficiencies for both clubs. Gives us a true quick fwd crumber. Play Griff, McBean or eventually others as a second tall fwd.

I'd rather bag Vickery
-
Not if your life depended on it
We have proved that out club cannot handle aboriginal players. See RR, JON, Tambling
We have no idea how to deal with them and our strike rate is terrible in the last 30 yrs
Besides another clubs reject
Come on

Who started this topic :o
l know its mushroom season & your not to eat the magic ones ;D you can't be serious

2 for the bag Vickery status
-
In a heartbeat
-
I wouldn't, Yarran has his own flaws. Rather trade Vickery for another player if anything.
-
No way, everyone would have to find a new whipping boy.
Plus if we got Yarren and when we started bagging (after about three games) him there would be racism implications
-
yep I'd do it.
That way we can play Griffiths in the senior team to ensure he doesn't seek the greener pastures of Port Adelaide and become All Australian CHF alongside teammates Schulz and White

Kingy would punch him up ;D

& if Griffiths goes down with broken wings then what. put Yarran up there to replace him. Never trade a runner for a flyer ;D

Yarran,
The only man who can run into an open goal and consistently kick points. Its a no from me!
-
Dooks has gone mad.
Where is Gerkin when we need him most? :help

Yes. I agree that our recruiting/development of indigenous players has been terrible.
But I would take anything for Sideshow bob
Maybe someone like Yarran can destroy the bluescheats when we play them next too.
If the offer came if take it in a heartbeat.

we have plenty of whipping boys already....take your pick ;D

Fk yarran.
He's all over the shop.
Will never b any good.

why would we need a new whipping boy? We'd have Yarran.

Oh Yeh good point

people do realise vickery gets games because there are so few tall fwd options.
for sure trade him but target someone like kristian jaksch.
or take the best pick we can get and target a promising tall fwd with it in the nd in the mean time take a short term fill in.

Good option although I would ask for a pick upgrade too with Jaksch.

NO..no more short term fill ins....Lets grow our own

Here bloody Here
Heres a thought let's play Mcbean, Elton, Miles and Brett O and see if we can upgrade on these monkeyball recruits so we can delist them all
Gig I'm starting to realise it's not the players we recruit it's the way we develop them may be the problem. Look what we did to Jack, Maric and Dusty. One we told him to drop weight the other we ran into the ground and dusty to play off a HBF

jaksch is just 19yo. the scenario would be similar to melb getting tyson. jaksch would be neither a short term fill in and we would still have to develop him.if you think our current list of talls is good enough or even enough id say your kidding yourself.

i was only useing jaksch as an example of the type of player we should trade vickery for
jaksch is struggling to get a game in front of boyd, cameron, and patton and they would have no need for vickery unless they thought they could turn him into a ruckman so perhaps gws is not the right place to try and trade vickery to.
maybe vickery to essendon or the dogs and we onload that pick to gws for jaksch.
i still very much like the look of jeremy mcgovern but that isnt possible anymore with the eagles promoting him to their senior list. shane kersten at geelong i was hopeful we would draft hes not getting a game at geelong.
or id be just as happy to trade him out for a decent pick there are some real good talls in the nd and instead of useing one or two good picks on talls we could use 3.

Yarran has been very consistent this year. Not sure if you guys have been watching the same games as me. Carlton are much more vulnerable when he is out of their side.
