Just pick all the hacks and go the knuckle.

Reckon they will rest a couple of senior blokes form yesterday and play the majority who sat out yesterday
They have made it clear they will play as close to our round 1 side in our final NAB challenge game against N0rt on the 21st
And very much looking forward to this road trip

Well if that's all we're gonna beat them by then we're in for a long year. No Betts, Waite, Kruezer, Mclean, Walker, Robinson, Gartlett , possibly Murphy and Judd on 1 leg. Combine this with the worst forward/backline in the league and you know what I'm getting at right ?

Smell the barbecue: Chris Knights set to get back to his roots
By Chris Young
Border Mail
March 3, 2015
CHRIS Knights is well on his way to an AFL comeback and says the Tigers’ pre-season match against Port Adelaide in Lavington will be another key milestone in his recovery from an ACL injury.
Knights is competing with emerging talent Sam Lloyd and Nathan Gordon for a spot across half-forward, but he ticked a major box in the Tigers NAB Challenge hitout against the Bulldogs last weekend, kicking two goals.
The 28-year-old said he was looking forward to just getting back on the park after a long couple of years out.
“I’m really looking forward to getting out there against Port, obviously it’s important for us to get out into the community, and an area like this is a real heartland of AFL,” Knights said.
“You look at the quality of the Ovens and Murray league, people really love their footy here so it’ll be good to show some support for grassroots footy.”
Knights said he was looking forward to a more local atmosphere in the match against Port Adelaide.
“It’s exciting to play footy back here, to be able to hear the fans and smell the barbecue from the field will be a real reminder of where footy come from,” he said.
Knights was with team-mates Alex Rance, Jake Batchelor and Ben Lennon in Corowa running football clinics for Corowa Public School as part of the AFL’s Community Camps program.
Lennon said the Tigers were confident they could give the Power a run for their money in Lavington, after a number of key players sat out in the Bulldogs game.
“We took a younger side in against the Dogs on the weekend, and I thought they showed a lot of good signs even if they didn’t pick up the win,” he said.
“Port have been a really strong side over the last couple of seasons, so it’ll be a good test to see where we’re at as a club and where to go from there.
“Obviously Anthony Miles is a local here, but a lot of the other guys on the list come from country areas so they’re keen to get up here and have a run around, and hopefully put in a really good performance.
“Coming to an area like the North East really breaks up the routine, it’s nice to get out of Melbourne and work with the kids a little bit.
“It really reminds you where you’ve come from as a kid, learning how to play the game.”

From groudview, who's the most impressive so far GR?
Ivan s ruckwork is winning plenty of clearances for us.
Ben Lennon, shed and Dusty look impressive.

I left flossy out, he is going good too.

McIntosh marks on the line to prevent Port from scoring. Tigers get it forward to the wing via Jack. Stoppage. Now inside our forward 50 for a throw-in. Siren.

Maric could have goaled then.

McIntosh is a good size.

Houli to Miles to Dusty in space in the centre. Jack then goes towards Ivan then over towards Titch & Lids but we stuff it up fooling around with it.
Batch now on 50 kicks it to McIntosh in the pocket but his shot misses.
Edwards now kicks long towards a vacant goalsquare but misses also.

Breaking forward again. Vickery marks well forward of centre. Off to Dusty who gives the don't argue and Jack marks on a difficult angle. Jack wants to dish it off to Lids and we stuff it up. That's two goals mucked up this quarter.

First time we drop off defensively and Port kick their first.

Shane Edwards has won an equal game high 12 disposals. He has been involved in six of Richmond's scores, the most of any player.

-
Dusty brought his own footy.
-
Rance, Grimes, Chaplin playing well down back.
Ivan killing it in the ruck, Dusty is best on in my opinion.
Ball movement is mainly through the corridor.
Pressure acts are good, its stifling Ports usual running game.
Miles is having a typical Miles game.
Jack well held up forward.
Some silly, indecisive, 8 goals up stuff crept in.
-
Scoreboard isn't a surprise given the teams on the park (Port better hope Schulz & Westhoff don't get injured) but it's good to see we're dominating as we should. Actually as GR said, we should be a couple of more goals in front if we didn't get too cute a couple of times in that second quarter.
The most exciting thing from this game so far is that Lambert has played well. Almost a certainty for promotion to the senior list before round 1.
-
Okay we're experimenting now. Dusty in a back pocket.
-
Richmond Interchange:
Ricky Petterd was changed with Taylor Hunt due to the blood rule.
-
Lloyd!!

McIntosh by hand to Titch (sloppy) to Jack. We still get the goal via Lloyd now on the ground :gotigers.

Edit: Beat me to it Owl.

Points to both Lids and Ellis.
Port run it up the other end for their 2nd.

-
Chaplin to Rance to McIntosh to Gordon on the wing. Off to Lids who goes to Ivan at HF but it's off hands for a throw-in. McIntosh goes long from 60 for a point.
71 - 13
From 15 chains starting in the defensive midfield Richmond has launched 10 inside 50s. Port Adelaide has converted just four of 14 from this zone.
-
HEHEHE LLOYD!!!!
-
Rance marks well but turns the ball over in defence. Luckily the Port player's shot is woeful and OOTF.
Hunt clever kick to Lloyd. Gets 50 for the Port player stepping over the mark. Goal :gotigers

Once we had a Rolls Royce but now we got an Astin Martin

Batch to Maric noice!
-
Rance to HF. Lennon crashes in but gets his own man instead. Pittard tries to run away but is nailed by Flossy :clapping. To Grigg whose kick isn't great to Lloyd and it's a ball-up. Lloyd or Batch get it and kicks long and big Ivan gets his mits around it. Misses though.

Lloyd now well ahead of him for that small forward role based on today's efforts.

Gordon could've gone harder at it a few times today.
Tyrone can't take a mark overhead either today.

Port 1870 on the back of their jumpers lmfao gtfouttahere more like 1995 or whatever it is get a grip another stupid franchise poo club!
Anyway 2015 in the bag lmfao....better than the other way around I suppose
-
From what I saw on TV,
Port obviously depleted without Boak, Hartlett, Gray and Wines in the engine room.
Standouts were:
Dusty, Miles and Houli, Lids & Shed busy, maric very good too. But for these games the only thing I really look for is some signs from fringe players and young players.
Lambert was again very sharp and should be promoted round 1. Lloyd was clinical. Lennon showed some class at times which was good to see. Kamdyn Macintosh showed some real physical development - is a big unit now, went for a few dashes and kicked it long, good to see. Vlas has to tidy up his footskills, turned it over a few times.
-
Mother of God we were sharp :clapping not much would have stopped us out there today, :shh moved the ball like greased lightning and tackled like a threshing machine. :cheers
Hunt
Lennon
Lloyd
Will all press for R1 inclusion and McIntosh coming along quite nicely ty , keep an eye out for him :shh
-
Richmond Interchange: Ricky Petterd was changed with Reece Conca due to an injury.
GR or anyone know about this?
Nothing obvious to be seen. The change was made after a break.
I didn't see anyone go down or limp off.
-
This has more than made up for the final.
We are a genuine premiership shot.
-
Mother of God we were sharp :clapping
Bad news for you Bj ... Carlton wasn't playing today :lol

Those arseholes just got lucky they don't normally ever beat us :shh

Im not gonna start whackin the ol fella too much they were missing the guts of their midfield and key forwards. We were in cruise mode, so bit of a nothing game, just a warm up run but still nice to give em one anyway.

Nup. Would have shitted it in. Should have in the final last year when you think about it.
Get excited no reason why a Top 4 finish isn't probable

Both disappointing for mine
Ty didnt use his body well enough and didn't provide enough contest
Conca did some good things but also a few bad things ie caught with the ball and bad disposal

Griffiths is in front of Vickery.
I watched Tyrone closely tonight and not just to pick poo at him, I actually rate him.
He presented well but couldn't take a grab overhead. He blew up too easily when needed in the ruck when Ivvy was red vested. I have concerns for Tyrone, he looks like a player who is playing without the enjoyment.
I watched mc bean when he came on, didn't do much but ran hard and looked like a bloke who wanted to be out there and be a part of it. The opposite to Ty.

Ty lost me last year but I still hold out hope for Conca, he has a dip and with an injury free season could be a good inside mid

-
yeah agree with chuck, both disappointing. I still hoped concs would come good, but watching him today just had the distinct impression I was watching a battler at best. Got caught a few times, some typical crap kicks. Ty was Ty, lumbering behind his opponent a fair few times, easily pushed off the ball in the contest, dropped marks, just a typical dud performance.
-
The Nab cup is really like dancing with Margot Robbie .....but only if Margot Robbie was your sister.
-
The main thing is we got through the game yesterday without any injuries (touchwood).

You can't just focus on a few bad kicks and getting caught a few times...Conca wins his own ball and given he plays on ball, he will get caught from time to time (like every other player in the comp) but for mine, he provides us grunt, pressure around the ball, lays great tackles, distributes well to outside players with hands, runs both ways very well and hits more targets then given credit for. Like Edwards (Rance) before him, he cops more than he should from some fans but if you focus on what he does, you will realise he is a very good AFL player :thumbsup
-
Conca's second half wasnt too bad, after a disspointing first.
Can I just confirm something about these practice games?
If we field an undermanned side and narrowly loose to a full strength side then it is a crap performance, but if we field a stronger side against and undermanned side and flog them, it is a nothing performance?
-

I'd add that it's more than crap if we lose with a reserves side - sky falls in on us as well
-
Its a cliche but you can only play what's put in front of you and whilst at times PA players assumed the role of witches hats I still thought we looked pretty sharp with our ball movement. Of course match day pressure is where you tell the men from the boys but at least things look positive for this stage of the season.

Im not just focusing on a few bad kicks and errors... I've been giving him the benefit of the doubt due to interrupted preseasons etc, but I reckon I may have been wrong about this guy, don't reckon he'll be anything special.

Went yesterday and also watched replay back at commercial club ( am a tragic)
Think we are in for a big year
Ball move movement and game style was excellent
And we have 2 very good players we have on hand in 2015
Hunt and McIntosh
A lot to like about yesterday
Kicking was excellent
-
Lmao.
Every year youse get sucked into the rubbish vortex.
U can't make strawberry jam out of rocking horse poo.
-
Jack Port bought more or less their seconds ,even Richmond central would have looked Ok against them.
Jack what did you notice that was different to last year,if anything ,even taking into account the second half of last year?.
-
Conca, Vickery. Can anyone report how those 2 went?
Both disappointing for mine
Ty didnt use his body well enough and didn't provide enough contest
Conca did some good things but also a few bad things ie caught with the ball and bad disposal
They're about %50 of the reason we won't be improving this year.
It's impossible to carry and depend on two duds like this , as well as be competitive with anothe 17 teams, some of whom have recruited wiser and therefore improved their lists.
I mean, it's simple logic.

It's like peeing In the wind and hoping it waters the entire garden. Lol
-
This time last year we looked impressive . After looking not interested against Melbourne , we flogged Collingwood and Essendon .
Can't read anything into the Nab Challenge .
I want to see a complete demolition of the Blues in rd 1 ( not one of these "falling over the line" hollow victories) .
-
The Nab cup is really like dancing with Margot Robbie .....but only if Margot Robbie was your sister.
I still would.
-
Its NAB 2. Nice performance against an understrength side that embarrassed us last time we met.
Move on and lets continue fine tuning for round 1.
Let's see if we can beat the Skataboners next week. Waite, Harvey, Petrie and the rest, blokes who always find that little bit extra against us.
Due to their inferiority complex to most things from Tigerland lets see if we can stifle these wannabes.
-
Unacceptable fumble by lids in the square, second quarter.......
-
Did they kick with the wind?
Don't know don't care. I'm an average simple Richmond supporter. I see a 10 goal win and I just know we are a top 4 lock.
Don't pay much attention to fine grain stats
Reckon you'd be balls deep in to us had we lost
I reckon you're right. I also reckon anyone who thinks its ok to lose to that Port side is probably delusional.
-
Conca's second half wasnt too bad, after a disspointing first.
Can I just confirm something about these practice games?
If we field an undermanned side and narrowly loose to a full strength side then it is a crap performance, but if we field a stronger side against and undermanned side and flog them, it is a nothing performance?
That's hiw I saw it too, sec half was solid , doesn't matter who we were playing The style of footy was premiership football , fast and slick ball movement , was bloody unstoppable

Agree. Just happy didn't get any injuries.

My sentiments about these players too. Was eager to see if Conca would perform after his first (almost) full pre season and it didn't take long to make me think he is at best going to be an average soldier

FMD.
The bloke is poo.
Trust your gut (no pun intended)
And here we are still, discussing not only poo choices in the draft but the mentality of the club to offer him 3 years at good coin.
He was supposed to be outback up plan if Martin signed elsewhere.
stuffn idiots in charge down there.
Geez stuffn Geez.

Both boys appear to have issues with applying themselves to the task at hand during the game. The fact that both got rubbed out last year for absolutely silly acts might tell the tale

we will at least beat the blues rd 1, i am very confident of that. I think we have a year like 2013 and fall short once again.
Take Jack out of the forward line and we really have no one. Lose him to injury and we are truly stuffed.
-
Not only do the fail to recognise talent at the draft table but they're unable to recognise a dud once he's been signed.
Good point Gigantuary

Great day up at Albury.
I know the opposition was weak but you can only beat who you face on the park.
Agree with Jack, really enjoyed the style of play. The transitioning of play from one side of the ground to other was actually about quick movement rather than the stopping, propping chipping nonsense.
Helluva a lot of hard work defensively up forward which made a very pleasant change.
I suppose that one of advantageous of having weaker opposition you can really work on the skills needed to nail the game style. Reckon thats what we did yesterday
The other pleasing thing and this will sound strange but facts are we should have won by 10 goals and what was pleasing is we actually did it. Rather doing what we normally do and that struggle to beat average opposition
Big road trip ... But well worth it

Didn't stay over in Tallangatta,WP?

Watson: Tigers v Power a waste of time
Joshua Papanikolaou
SEN
16 Mar 2015
The NAB Challenge game between Richmond and Port Adelaide on the weekend was a complete waste of time, says Tim Watson.
A severely understrength Power side were well beaten by the Tigers in Albury on Saturday by 66 points after only scoring two points in the first three quarters.
“They gave us nothing on the weekend Port Adelaide, it was a waste of time,” said Watson on SEN radio.
“There were 14 of their best players that didn’t play and we got nothing in return.”
A long list of key absentees for the Power included Travis Boak, Robbie Gray, Justin Westhoff, Brad Ebert, Ollie Wines and Matthew Lobbe.
If not for a five-goal last quarter the match would have been an embarrassing situation for the AFL who are yet to find the best format for pre-season play.

What do they mean by that last paragraph, the goals were something like 6/4/4/5 for the game

Tim has a shocking memory. Back before the NAB Cup when we played ................

practice matches, this was the norm.
So giving it a name has changed what clubs do in their pre-season warmups Tim?
Stroker!!!!!!

Just looking for Tim's article that our game against the dogs was a waste of time too.

Where's Claw?
Want to ask him which he rates a better performance; our ressies side in a competitive match vs the Bulldogs best side or our top side vs Ports ressie side in a romping.

Not unless he was suffering from foofalitis! The foofa valve is very strong unless it gets inflamed! ;D
