AFL cuts fans some slack with freeze on finals ticket prices
Herald-Sun
August 26, 2016
FOOTBALL finals tickets will cost fans no more than last season as the AFL freezes prices for a second consecutive year.
A week after landing a new $2.5 billion TV rights deal, the league will on Wednesday unveil its finals tickets plans with AFL senior executive Travis Auld admitting the broadcast agreement had “made it easier for us to reward fans”.
Four Victorian teams are in the eight — Hawthorn, Richmond, Western Bulldogs and North Melbourne — and Geelong could yet join them for September and October.
For weeks one and two at the MCG, a bottom-level adult seat will be $40 with the top-class set at $85. A children’s ticket — under 15 — will range from $12 to $26.
A base seat at one of the two preliminary finals will cost $68 while the top category is $170.
Seats at the October 3 Grand Final will range from $180 to $399.
Grand Final concession seats range from $153 to $339. There are no children’s tickets.

With Fremantle and West Coast on the top two rungs of the ladder, two of the first four finals appear set to be played in Western Australia.
The two preliminary finals could also be played in the west if the Dockers and Eagles win their first finals.
The MCG is guaranteed to host the Grand Final. Finals tickets go on sale on September 7.

Just as every hoarse throat, every sodden jacket and every long journey home, they're all for the finals too. For 23 rounds, we've all been wanting the same thing - to be there in September - and here we are. There's no atmosphere like it, so get your tickets early...

Why don't you explain yourself instead of insulting me. You're the one that needs to grow up if you just go out and post insults when it you feel a little uncomfortable.

Does everything have to be validated by you? Plenty of people aren't members for their very own unique reasons and I don't think any of them would have to get your tick of approval. If you weren't filled with condescension then this wouldn't be an issue would it?

Not sure that's quite right Jack
Thought priority sale you had to have barcodes for all tickets and then if you needed more you could request extras, they get held but couldn't actually buy them until the non member ones go on sale
I just hope that the "nitwits" at ticketek have got their on line system sorted so it can handle the traffic and it doesn't crash like it usually does
Whatever I am set all taken care of :clapping

Last year you could but an extra 2 tickets
Pretty sure it's the same for next week
Step 7 on RFC site says you can purchase additional tickets as guests

Online: ticketek.com.au
Phone: 132 849
In person: Find an agency near you < http://premier.ticketek.com.au/Content/Outlets/agency.aspx>
Please check the relevant websites for outlet locations and check with their local outlet to confirm operating times.
Note: Members wishing to purchase a family ticket for any finals match are required to do so in person or via the phone (online bookings cannot be facilitated).
Where will our seating be for weeks 1, 2 & 3 of the finals?
The AFL distributes an even number of tickets within each reserved seat category, along with restricted/standing room tickets to both competing clubs for each final.

How are tickets sold?
Tickets will be sold in order of next best available and will be subject to availability.
You will be able to purchase based on your preferred price category for the first three weeks of the finals. However due to the demand for tickets all ticket agents are advised to sell ‘next best available’ to make the allocation process fast and convenient for purchasers.
Please note that payment for all finals tickets is strictly cash or credit card.
During the club members on-sale you must have all your 2015 membership barcodes and you can only purchase a finals ticket equivalent to the type of membership you hold (ie an adult member can only purchase an adult finals ticket).
I am an AFL member with a club support package. Can I purchase tickets from the club allocation for weeks 1, 2 & 3?
AFL full and silver members (excluding absentee members) whose club of support is one of the competing clubs may access the competing club members’ ticket allocation in the public section of the ground in weeks 1-3.
AFL members who choose to purchase tickets from the competing club member allocation, will pay the full public ticket price.

Eligible MCC Members can still upgrade to a reserved seat and scan their card at Gate 2 on the day to gain access to the MCC Reserve, however this is strictly subject to capacity.

Looks like there will be tickets available at the gate!
Good as people who walk up and line up will afford them as they are the cheapest tickets.
If you haven't bought your ticket/s and 50/59 about going, you should go early and buy them!
