Stick to the topic rather than potting the site and its rules

As mentioned the rules regarding needing to post a link when you source info directly from another site has been in place since this site started back in May 2004, so I am not sure why it's suddenly an issue (even in supposed jest)

But just so everyone is clear as per the site rules:

2.   Plagiarism: will not and cannot be allowed. If you are posting threads that are direct copies from other sites (eg Real Footy, RFC website etc) and this includes other “unofficial” sites you must quote the source/link. Also, we request that if you use information from this site as discussion topics on other forums that you quote OER as the source and post the appropriate link. Due to legal requirements failure to quote the correct source/link will result in the post being either edited if we can locate the source or removed. Before resorting to removing any post we will endeavour to contact the original OER poster to get them to edit their post. If we are unable to do that OER will endeavour to find the source and edit the post.

Haven't you been just deleting them?

No.

I have lost count of how many times people have been asked to post the appropriate link and it doesn't happen

We ask, it doesn't get done, it gets removed. That's what happens

No, suggest you re-read the entire rule . It says we will endeavour to find it, if we can't and the posters doesn't add the link it gets removed.

Yes, I did see that but I feel as though you don't even endeavour to do that.

Without being accused of being rude and disrespectful - How would you honestly know?

You don't, you're making an assumption.

But I will add when the same posters constantly refuse to post the links then the time they get to fix it themselves (as well as the time we take looking) is far less than what others get (quite rightly I would argue). We shouldn't have to make the same request to the same people every week or in some cases every day...

Might be easier to remove the sentence "If we are unable to do that OER will endeavour to find the source and edit the post." from the rule.

One of two things need to happen.

1-Admin relax and stop worrying about being sued.(it ain't gonna happen)

2- Posters abide by admins requests on the grounds that they do a great job overall (even though they are a little intimidated by silly laws that nobody would enforce.  ;D)

I definitely should have posted sometimes, but yes it is just an assumption but it was based on a couple of specific circumstances.
