Title: Interesting stat.
Post by: mat073 on September 07, 2015, 12:31:06 AM
Despite having such spuds in Chaplin and Bachelor ( and occasionally Morris) running around in the backline  :P - Richmond has conceded the least number of goals in season 2015.

1st Richmond 220
2nd Hawthorn 221
3rd Fremantle 225

Can't remember the last time that happened

Maybe that shows that they aren't spuds ? Certainly not stars but as a group our backline works really well.

This is probably all due to Rance.

Rance superhuman efforts make Chaplin and Houli look better than what they are

It's due to Rance, our midfield and our defensive setup. Batch is still a spud

Our defence has conceded 400 less points than NM. That says something  :shh

Team defence whereby Rance is the rock which holds everything together. Although I don't rate Chaplin highly, when paired with Rance and Grimes he does do his job (more often then not)

Batch is no spud.

Let's put Hampson back there, he can be the worlds first rebounding half back flanker/ruckman/defence adonis

the best spot for Hampson is deep in the goal square, so deep he is standing behind the goal line waving the flags

He would drop them too.

We have a real quality back 6, cudos to all of them - ALL of them!
Rance is the stand out star of the show & deserves all the credit he gets, but that doesn't diminish the roles played by Batch, Houli & Grimes.  They work together as a team to get the job done & the results speak for themselves.
Well done boys!    :clapping
