I'll be there. I just don't care about seeing the same guys perform poorly week after week after week.
Then they are rewarded with another Richmond Football Club senior game for their troubles. Would rather see young guys who might be worse but will improve in time.....

:lol :lol Yeah good luck. Between Hawthorns "capacity" to draw a crowd (at the dog park) and our season caput they'll struggle to get 40.

Doesn't this get said EVERY game...many don't really care now. I for one pen in a loss every week now, couldnt give a stuff if we lose and i'm not even fussed if we win.

We dont really need the big comeback this year, we need the early picks.

Not many times over the last 6 years, even when we were in DH first year that I thought we had no hope of winning. But at the moment the way we are playing we have next to no
chance of winning. The style of footy we are playing now is unwatchable. And extremely embarring.

I'll wait to make my mind up if I go when I see the team selections on Thursday night.
I'll happily be first there if Houli, Grigg and Hampson are dropped and replaced with kids...

Vlastuin, Grimes and McIntosh would be a good start. But I'd also like to see Short get another crack at it.

Match preview: Richmond v Hawthorn

AFL.com.au
May 4, 2016

SUMMARY

After five losses in a row, Richmond now has the task of taking on the reigning premiers on the Friday night stage. It's a daunting task for the 1-5 Tigers, but it also gives them a chance to roll the dice in a match few would expect them to win. On the other side, Hawthorn is looking at an easy kill after a humbling 75-point loss to Greater Western Sydney in round six. The Hawks have been off their game, and only sit 4-2 and in eighth spot because of their experience and will to get over the line in tight games. They might consider this Friday night the perfect opportunity to play themselves back into premiership-winning form.

WHERE AND WHEN: MCG, Friday, May 6, 7.50pm AEST

LAST FIVE TIMES
R18, 2015, Richmond 10.11 (71) d Hawthorn 7.11 (53) at the MCG
R6, 2014, Hawthorn 18.10 (118) d Richmond 7.10 (52) at the MCG
R19, 2013, Richmond 16.11 (107) d Hawthorn 9.12 (66) at the MCG
R9, 2012, Richmond 21.11 (137) d Hawthorn 10.15 (75) at the MCG
R3, 2011, Hawthorn 17.13 (115) d Richmond 6.16 (52) at the MCG

THE SIX POINTS

1. Anthony Miles and Dustin Martin were the difference for the Tigers when thy beat the Hawks in the teams' last meeting. Miles was best on ground with 30 disposals, while Martin racked up 27. Ivan Maric dominated the ruck, earning a Brownlow vote with 31 hit-outs.

2. Richmond’s scoring continues to fall compared to last season, with an average of 80 points a game after it was 87 in 2015. Hawthorn is kicking 93 points a game, down from 109 in 2015.

3. The Hawks are one of the best tackling sides so far in 2016, ranked second with an average of 77.2. The Tigers are struggling in this area, ranked 15th with 62.2 per game.

4. Richmond and Hawthorn have met only three times on a Friday night at the MCG and the Tigers are undefeated.

5. Richmond is on track for its worst start to a season since Damien Hardwick’s team lost its first nine games in 2010. Hawthorn hasn’t lost consecutive games since early in 2014.

6. Vice-captain Brett Deledio has taken back the No.1 ranking at Tigerland in the Official AFL Player Ratings, brought to you by Schick.  It took Deledio one match back to unseat suspended teammate Alex Rance.

IT'S A BIG WEEK FOR … Ivan Maric.
The vice-captain gathered just four possessions against Port Adelaide and comes up against ruck duo Ben McEvoy and Jon Ceglar, who shared 30 against GWS. Maric is a leader at Tigerland but the 30-year-old is battered and is being supported by an equally wounded Shaun Hampson. The pair has been found out by mobile ruckmen.

PREDICTION: Hawthorn by 36 points

Half-step to pick a slow, unskilled side then wonder why Hawthorn out ran us, while lamenting our high amount of turnovers before saying he's encouraged by our contested ball numbers....(that Hawthorn have been soundly beaten in all year.)

I know we have been totally poo but geez those are good odds coming up against a side who are decimated by injury and are coming off a flogging and have not really played good footy this year. How can the odds be so far apart i know we are poo  but the Hawks are not travelling too well themselves.

It goes against the grain and i dont think we will win  but i think i will have a little wager on us.

Distinct difference in skill being the difference in the last. Even one metre handballs hitting teammates on the half volley. Inability to win one one one contests and terrible tacking technique allowing opposition players to just waltz through 3 or 4 Tigers regularly. All in all the effort was there for three quarters but in the end we were shown up as a slow unskilled side which has been the theme for the majority of the season.

Why do we continue to pass high hangers when low flat darts are what we need
Because we are an unskilled side and arent capable of nailing a low kick. Saw it time and time again where we miss targets when trying to short pass. Hawks on the other hand are clinical but they also seemed to have so much time in comparison to execute.

Dusty going back to what made everyone so excited in his first year or two. A tough as nails beast who could win his own ball. Looks like the coach had no other choice but let him play more inside, now only if he allows more attacking flair throughout the whole team and he'll start banging them through from 50 again :pray

Another great effort from the boys.  Only lost by 10 goals in the last 35-40 mins of footy to the Hawthorn reserves.  Keep making us proud.  Come second half of the year, when all the bottom clubs are tanking for draft picks, we will kick it up a notch and win a few games.  They will be as meaningful as our home and away win against north at the end of last year.

Hardwick's tigers.  Losing when it matters.

Interesting......
...or we could just play all three in the guts? You know, like they should've been doing from day one. Apart from that, the wings are for pacey gut runners and putting Cotchin there is a good way to completely waste his biggest strengths which are contested possessions and clearances.

Flossy and Dusty really add something to the guts. Any reason Cotchin couldn't move to a wing? This works.

Defining moment?

Grigg gets a free and plays on trying to handball to Dusty while on his hands and knees

After turning it over he flaps arms at the umpire and asks why did you call play on?

Please you moron  :banghead :banghead

And you wonder why Dan said blokes like you cant take us any further  ;D

Yes, and then Dan had to join Grigg and the other top-up moneyball hacks in the Kerford Road early morning drink to apologise if he had hurt anybody's feelings with his comments. FFS, the joint is a brothel and it needs the biggest broom putting through every corner of it.

"Yeah I went in the water with the players. It was simply one in all in," Richardson said.

"I took it upon myself to go in with them after I heard they had organised one themselves not because anyone had done anything especially wrong, but they thought it would be a good thing for them to do and I just thought why not? I'll join them, it was one in all in .... I got a good welcome from the boys."

Richardson said he had discussions with Grigg this week but the decision to join the players in wading into the bay on Wednesday morning was not related to that conversation.

"That was unconnected. I have discussions with players all the time about where they sit so that was fine. I had a chat to Shaun but that as not unusual. He knows that, especially in the form he is in at the moment, he is an important player for us," he said.

This club is heading full steam for a wooden spoon without trying to tank. The continual selection of Grigg regardless of his form is just one of the countless examples of ineptitude the club engages in. This was one of the weakest Hawthorn sides they have put on the park for about 10 years and yet we were comprehensively beaten. Nothing is going to change until there is significant change in personnel at the club.
