Richmond will hold its final open training session this Sunday, before the Tigers open the 2017 AFL season against Carlton at the MCG next Thursday night.
The Tigers will train from 9:30 to 10:30 this Sunday, March 19 at Punt Road Oval, with a sunny top of 32° forecast for Melbourne.
Following the session, an informal jumper presentation will take place in front of the Jack Dyer Stand.
Several 2017 junior members have been selected to present Richmond's 2017 AFL list with their new PUMA guernseys.
There will be face painting, giveaways, mascots and a food van on the day to entertain the Tiger faithful.
The Tigerland Superstore will be open from 8:30am, with new Richmond PUMA guernseys available in-store for purchase.
The Club's membership team will be available out the front of the Superstore from 8:30am, for membership sales and cap/scarf collection.
Gates open at 9am. Fans attending on Sunday are strongly encouraged to travel by public transport, as parking will not be available at the Club or Yarra Park.

I've got no idea .
I'm part of no click. I don't know one employee at the club. My 7yo daughter is a 3121 member so she can sit with me and we were picked. My youngest daughter is 4 and she wasn't picked. We are on our way now and looking forward to it.

Enjoy it Damo, sounds like a random selection which is a great way to make the club inclusive of all supporters and not just those who tip money in or know people. :cheers

Now THAT'S how To run an afl club! :rollin :lol

Was tempted to drop in and have a look but at 32 degrees, lads, its time to hit the beach.
Suns out guns out :clapping

Would suggest Butler just told he was playing on Thursday Night
-
Great morning here
Training is very sharp

How would you run it?
Play poo songs about how good life is on your knees to the kids?

Was announced Butler playing
Interestingly Dimma singled out Townsend for praise. Please no.
Dimma also forgot Nank's name was Toby. Sums him up perfectly

I went. Thought it was low key and unassuming. Unimpressed with training intensity or quality. Dimma pointing out Markov as being extremely talented before just introducing Corey Ellis was a little awkward for Cellis.
Probably means little for Thurs night but I didn't see any sharp training.

Good,
oh god, please no

-
Well that's interesting
My thoughts were training was sharp
Especially the drills in regards to 6 on 5 up stoppages
If you watched closely , the set up in regards to releasing players was excellent
Give you a little tip
One handball then kick down the line
-
well i hope you are right. not sure how much more i can bare of handball to someone in space then handball to someone under pressure

I thought the atmosphere was chirpy, but was surprised at the lack of intensity.
The standouts for me were Mcintosh and Rioli.
Kamdyn looked super fit and his skills were elite by foot

FTR, I couldn't see any face painting, mascots or giveaways at all. If there was these things, it must've been hidden away on the superstore side of Punt Rd which no-one explained when we arrived. Not a big deal but another example of the poor communication from the club. I went thinking that the younger kids could be distracted by having these activities while the older one could watch training. The jumper presentation was great, the clear highlight of a dull morning.

I didn't go
But I just find it really disappointing the Club has flicked the traditional "Family Day" - another example of the "Disconnect" of the last 2 years

There were face painting , mascots and give sways
At the Punt Rd end
Thought it was a great day
Only my opinion but would keep the same concept moving forward

Was definitely face painting
-
It would've been nice for the club to explain where things were located upon arrival. I came to the ground from the other end and there was nothing to indicate where these activities were located.

Did you ask someone?

I'm not sure why it's up to me to ask that question? Some clear signage at the entrance or the ground announcer mentioning it at regular intervals would've been more helpful than me and the couple of hundred people on my side of the ground looking for someone to ask.
Trying to manage 3 small children is hard enough without doing the clubs job for them.

For what it's worth
The announcer did announce that the jumper presentation was to be in front of stand
And toilet, food , membership marquee , food and drinks and face painting were next to the stand
Thus we moved from standing outside the social club to the grandstand

We arrived 15 minutes after training started. No announcement. Which side of the stand was the face painting?
It wasn't on the Punt Rd side and you couldn't get to the other side of the stand unless you went behind it which isn't ideal because there is no access unless you enter next to the merchandise store.
Like I said, no a big deal but just not fan friendly or frankly professional. Make it easy for people Richmond.

There was several marquees next to the stand Punt Rd end
One was Membership
One was Face Painting
They were next to the food van and toilets

Gonna take HRT's word on this. Jackstar was probably to distracted watching Hampson walk water and admiring his form and sacrifice for the team

I was there
That why I posted that Butler had got a game as they were on jumping over him in the middle of the ground
Also Rance was wearing white socks
And was standing next to the guy who kept saying " three cheers for Grigga"
Now who was there ???

Rance wore a jumper with a number 16, not 18. I was there, no tents with face painting next to the "food truck" which charged $3 for a can of coke and $4.50 for a bottle of water.
-
There was face painting tent, cheer squad tent, food truck etc at punt road end.
All that is irrelevant. The fact you were there and didn't know is what I find oretty ordinary and it's a blight on the organising. If you weren't aware, then plenty would have been the same

Can tell you that were tents next to the food van
Club membership marquee was there as well
Girls from the club were giving away freebies , they were standing in front of the tents
Plenty of kids had face painting
Also mascots were walking in front of the grandstand near the stairs
Tiger Stripes etc

Well somebody isnt being honest. Who is it?
I log on here to get basic information and its a shame i cant find out what actually happened on the day.
-
I'm more concerned with the club charging so much for stuffing drinks. Not even kidding, it's a farce
-
I'm just commenting on what I saw, had 3 small children to look out for.
If it doesn't stick out like dogs balls then I'm not going to notice, my responsibilities rest with looking out for the kids, the clubs are to make sure the activities are visible and easy to see (which they weren't).
The kids didn't even bloody notice and they were bored (eldest excepted) so what does that tell you?
