Title: Coburg vs Frankston
Post by: mightytiges on June 12, 2004, 01:43:18 PM
Qtr Time

Coburg  5.2-32  Houlihan 2, Rogers, Tuck, Pagan
Frankston 1.0-6

Coburg had the wind that quarter and it's appears bloddy hard to kick goals at the other end. Frankston had more of the ball but Coburg made the most of their forward forays.

Still don't know how Tuck isn't getting a game! Hilton has being getting plenty of the ball down back.

Half Time

Coburg 5.6-36
Frankston 6.3-39

In terms of Richmond blokes no one standing out that quarter. Marsh is doing alright and Hiton getting some easy ball. Gilmour and Raines look very skillful but not getting enough of the ball. Fletcher, Rogers and Morrison hardly in the game. Zantuck had 3 kicked on him that quarter. We missed two sitters (dragga, houlihan) plus a goal of ours was disallowed because of the umpy.

Morrison - shoulder injury ??
Wasn't much in it.
Hlton used him as a step ladder.

3/4 Time

Coburg 10.8-68  -> Houlihan 5, Hilton, Rogers, Tuck, Pagan, ?
Frankston 7.5-47

Rory went forward in that quarter and took a great grab. Got a bit of the angry pills today.

Morrison's arm is slightly numb so hopefully he only got a knock to a nerve and he'll be ok.

Problem with Houlihan is he won't be playing at FF for Richmond.

True about Hoolihan MT.

Zantucks attitude is total crap!

Cheers Fwoy

Full Time:

Coburg 11.9-75  -> Houlihan 5, Tuck 2, Hilton, Rogers, Foley, Pagan
Frankston 11.8-74

Onya Tucky. Still don't know why you can't score at least one gig in the seniors.

Agree Ox about Zantuck about his attitude. Beaten by two opponents although the second one was a mismatch.

Marsh, Tuck and Hilton were the best Richmond players IMO. Houlihan was too clever at FF for the Frankston backmen but I'll doubt he be on our list next year as that's not where he's ask to play at Richmond.

Rogers, Weller, Morrison (whose ok), fletcher and dragga are not up to it. Foley looks too small for AFL to me. Gilmour's disposal and smarts were excellent although his opponent got more of the pill. Quiet also was Raines (good disposal) and Jackson took a couple of good marks in defence in the last quarter.

I reckon Hilton is gone, how many time did he kick to the opposition?
Thought that Houlihan was good. Zantuck ?
Fletcher NO GOOD.
Thought the chick in the kiosk was very well mannered and did an extremely good job. ;)

Zantucks body language suggests he either cant be stuffed or he's another one of these players that just
seems to be in that zone.
Still didn't impress me today considering at the start of the year he was showing some real promise.
First time i got to see Coburg this year as i was away and must say i was impressed with the young-Tuck.
Seems to be composed and planning on having a real dip at senior footy some time (hopefully) in the near future.
Rainesy looks like his old man although he didnt get much of it.
Agree Fletcher is done.Feel sorry for guys like him who show promise as a junior but cant make the transition
into Agrade.Must be tuff.
Also sad to watch Buck meander the coburg back line like an elderly lion who has been banished from his pride.

Agree with Jackstar regarding Hilton's disposal - woeful at times. Fletcher - tries hard but only good for VFL footy IMO

I have no comment to make regarding Ty Zantuck - the body language said it all - even more so when the ball was not in his area. :-\

The great thing about Nathan Foley is he palys without fear - take note seniors

And I don't know how it came up on the TV - but those orange umpire uniforms were an absolute shocker ;D

Great to see Geoff Raines there watching his son. Though I hope he doesn't think I am stalking him - Club80 dinner on Tuesday now Coburg on Saturday. ;D

I still beleive Foley showed enough that he will be a good player.  Some of his in-tight work with his hands were very impressive.  Not happy with the fact that he spent most of the first half on the bench, and when on the ground was bunkered in the forward line.  Flood must give the richmond kids maximum game time.  Tuck was OK, but he has played much better than that in previous games without the reward of a call up.  Go figure.

Ellsye,it was George who through out the pies, and what I seen ,I will politely say no to the free pies, thanks anyway. ;)

Houlihan was too clever at FF for the Frankston backmen but I'll doubt he be on our list next year as that's not where he's ask to play at Richmond.

Houlihan is one of those players who looks a class above in the VFL, but looks like a fish out of water at AFL level.  He just doesn’t have the commitment and desire to be an AFL player.

Hilton’s attitude is all wrong.

Positives were the young players.  They at least give you some hope for the future.  Daniel Jackson didn’t get much of a run, but took some telling marks in the last quarter.

Roachy did some good things early and set up some opportunities up forward.  He could teach some of his senior teammates a thing or two about decision making.  Also took a knock at one stage and came back.

Can’t understand why Tuck doesn’t get a go.  He couldn’t possibly do any worse than some others.

These young players will take some time to develop, but because you can see they have some ability, it's easy to be patient with them.
