Priority 3 here so not even crossing my fingers, shouldn't have even bothered entering the ballot. However I've been given a couple AFL member barcodes by inlaws but still have to wait until 2pm for non-competing club members to try. Not getting my hopes up yet but at least it's a shot.

I am a cat 1 due to my mrc membership and received a txt today to say ensure money in nominated account as they would be processing today..
I'd love to know when I've got ticket, otherwise Ill have a sleepless night despite being guaranteed.

Looked at price list @ ticketeck they are listed for $294 each.
I have two transactions, one for $294 (presume my dad's P1) and one for $588 (both my brother and my P2's @ $294/each)

I forgot my mate actually put my barcode in for me with another mate. He has had 1 amount for $294 taken from his account which I assume means one of us is going. Bit cruel, really.

5) i cant remember how they used to do it but some guys i met used to do it every year and never missed out
it was through the underground car park from brunton park.
in all honestly if you pay for crap like foxtel, lattes or smashed avo then cut it out for 4 months and pay 700 and get there. Problem solved.

Try ticketek at a local newsagent. The site tells me to do that although I never remember selecting that option.

Just went on to the club website, and you they have a massive list of both successful and unsuccessful ballot numbers. The numbers are Ticketek accounts, so you can check there is you want to.

No choice, to reduce risk of scalping. Only credit card holder can collect.

TICKETS for Richmond’s first Grand Final appearance in 35 years were last night fetching up to $3500 amid a last-minute panic for a seat.
With more than 50,000 Tigers members to miss out on the big day, scalpers were looking to take advantage of demand for tickets.
One seller on CraigsList was asking $14,000 for four Grand Final tickets.

RICHMOND fans who’ve waited 35 years for their team to make a Grand Final face the prospect of being locked out of Saturday’s MCG blockbuster.
But City of Melbourne councillors will enjoy some of the best seats in the house as they lap up corporate hospitality — regardless of whether they barrack for the Tigers.
The councillors have been offered tickets to the premium September Club marquee for the match where they will be wined and dined free of charge, thanks to the AFL.
With tens of thousands of Richmond and Adelaide fans missing out on seats despite shelling out for club memberships, the councillors have been urged to hand their tickets to diehard supporters.
Kevin Passmore, a Richmond member since 1994, scored a standing ticket for $150 in the club’s Grand Final ballot, but is desperately trying to find another for his “long-suffering Richmond wife’’.
He said councillors and corporates taking seats off legitimate fans was “ridiculous’’.
“It’s shocking and there will be a lot of disappointed and upset people out there,’’ he said.
“If I was a Melbourne councillor, I would be looking for a Richmond or Adelaide fan to give my ticket to, someone who deserves to be there.’’
City of Melbourne spokesman Brodie Bott said the tickets were “not gifted to the councillors’’ or logged in the council’s gift register.
“City of Melbourne councillors are often invited to attend functions and events including those held by organisations with formal sponsorship agreements with the City of Melbourne,’’ he said.
“As part of a longstanding sponsorship agreement with the AFL, the City of Melbourne receives an allocation of tickets to the Grand Final.’’

With the AFL allocating just 17,000 seats to a Tiger army boasting more than 70,000 members, the vast majority of Richmond fans are being hit with heartache before the first bounce.
Fans have been warned against buying tickets from scalpers because they could be turned away from the ground despite paying hundreds of dollars above face value.
The Grand Final is the only AFL match deemed a “declared event’’, making it illegal for tickets to be sold above face value. But tickets for Saturday were yesterday advertised for up to $2000 each online.
Richmond will transform its Punt Rd Oval headquarters into a live site for the match from 11am-6pm. Fans have been urged to buy tickets — $20 for adults, $15 for concession and $10 for juniors — before it, too, sells out.

Today was the only day I was free to collect that didn't interrupt my schedule so I was happy to wait.
The feeling I had once the chap handed me the tickets, knowing how long we've waited is just indescribable.
Finding it hard to concentrate at times

Sorry to be flooding this thread; Dad was successful in getting a ticket through the ballot as a Richmond member, however he's overseas at the moment and will likely miss the "big dance". He's hoping to get the ticket to my brother, however it states only the account holder and credit card holder is the one that can collect. He won't be able to grab it until the day. Any ideas as to how we can get it? I've emailed ticketek and the club but no response as yet (also called and didn't even get through to a person). Any advice would be appreciated.

Firstly, the club cannot help you. They are not the ticket agent so they really can't do anything
Secondly, your best option is to either phone Ticketek or go into one of the main collection points and speak to them. Find what if any options you have
Don't bother with emailing them. I have never known anyone to get a response from them
I've just picked up ours. They weren't interested in the credit card side of things. Focus was on photo id and the account number I got when I registered the bar codes.

Will I have any problems getting in do you think? I'm hoping they won't really be checking for concession at the turnstiles.

You'll be right I think. My old man is concession and I checked once when he scanned in from the other side of the gate and nothing special showed up (I wanted to see in case someone else ever had to use his membership).
Join me in being nervous though. I've got my in laws AFL reserve. They've given me their AFL membership cards too just in case I get checked but my anxiety won't stop until my bum is in my seat.

I've gone as a concession a few times when I was a student and it was hit and miss. On reflection it was maybe only the quieter games they checked? But don't trust me on that. Can you swap your ticket with anyone to get in the gate who is a concession then just swap back?

Friends have done it the G this year. hasnt been a problem.
i know as of two years ago the scanners at etihad distinguished between tickets on the screen for the attendent but the mcg didnt. but dunno if mcg has upgraded since.

best advice is to mingle in with the crowd and avoid any dude wearing an afl coat (last year they were wearing red)
