How did we all rate Caddy's season?
-
Good pickup although i don't think he will get much better than what we have seen.
Gave him an extra point for his excellent goals from a metre out.
-
He frustrates me a bit as a player but credit where it's due, had a pretty good year and played an important role for us
-
Solid contributor during the season didn't fall away in the finals.

Solid body can take a grab and was a useful contributor. Surprised how bad his kicking for goal is given he was talked about as an excellent kick when he was first drafted. I see why gee long got rid of him but if you don't expect the world then he is good enough.
-
Slow as treacle and a unreliable set shot, an occasionally effective weapon, his best work is usually off the ball....

and one meter out from goal out on his own
-
Lifted in finals, solid player. Needs to work on his set shots, can be very wasteful
-
He gives the side flexibility.
-
His back nine was pretty good .
-
People under rating him for me frees up Cotch and Martin with bullocking work in packs winning the footy.Versatile to and stood up in games we needed him to.Only 24 and can get better no doubt.Big body's like him win you finals to.I think he can be 30 plus goal kicker if he improves set shots.

Which course?

Agree.

x2.
Was just about best on in the first half of the Geel final. Strong bodies that crash packs are like offensive linesmen - they win you premierships/super bowls.
-
Yes because as Australians posting on an Australian Football forum we needed an American Gridiron analogy to better understand what you were talking about...
-
We do have American fans on here, I can't remember who it was but it's all good
-
Im chiming in here.
I'm very critical on this bloke game day.
I find him very wasteful in front of goals and at times very slow.
Since the GF I have watched a number of replays of games this year and I have to say I need to stop being so critical, this bloke is one of the most unselfish smartest players.
His work inside is never seen, but the blocks he puts on opposition when there is a contested ball to be won for his mate to win it very easily is 1st rate.
By no means is he a superstar, but he definitely does the job and plays the role he needs too.
KICK THE FREAKIN GOAL THOUGH!!! Many games that were close this year could have been over or won if he kicked straight (he isn't on his own)

Would you say he blocks, kinda like one of those big guys that protects the QB? :shh

Very good analogy.

Yes because no-one here understands the basic concept of "shepherding" that's always been in our game unless it'a translated into Seppo terms for us....
-
Gave him a 7 because his finals series performance was good. He kicks many goals in junk time and sprays the most getable shots when the game is in the balance and we need to apply scoreboard pressure on the opponent. His disposal is waaaaaaaay below Miles but his big body has meant he could stretch the opposition defence. I also agree that he is very unselfish and shepherds for his team and does the physical stuff to keep the ball moving into our f50

Walk a mile in his shoes Dio. Preferably on the sidewalk eating cookies and jello
-
Yeah look these analogies are only confusing me. I don't watch that garbage sport so no idea who does what and why
-
It's worth watching purely because it is the most professionally administered sport in the world. The rules, the umpiring the analysis the TV rights everything. We copy it slavishly because it isn't hide bound like golf or soccer to bizarre traditions and as such evolves constantly. As VFL AFL has since the 80's. Seppo footy is our bigger brother these days for good or ill.
Things we've borrowed or been influenced from Seppo Ball
Multiple umpires
TV replays
Night time footy
Protecting the Head rules
Larger stadium's paid for by the local government
The draft
Free agency
Salary cap
It's a long list and that's 5 minutes of thinking about it.

Caddy was huge for us this year and I'm rapt we have him :gotigers
