Good luck to them.

stuff off cheats
-
Dan Richardson gonski.
-
Is this the guy who got demoted when Balmey came to the club?
-
Interesting that Carlton and now Essendon potentially poaching individuals with intimate knowledge of how our football club is run internally, not sure Dan is over the line but good luck to him if he goes.
-
Not worried one bit Balme is running the show now football department as Richardson wasn't great at all in that department contracts were his specialty.
-
Congrats to him and thank him for his valued contribution. :clapping
-
Hope we now poach Brad Lloyd from Freo for Dan’s role

ESSENDON has poached an integral part of Richmond's premiership staff, hiring Dan Richardson for its vacant position as football manager.
He will start the role on January 8.

Essendon poaches Richmond football manager Dan Richardson
Michael Warner,
Herald Sun
11 December 2017
ESSENDON has poached Richmond talent chief Dan Richardson to fill its vacant football operations post.
Richardson said it was a tough decision to leave the Tigers, and thanked the board, Balme, coach Damien Hardwick and captain Trent Cotchin.
“Career decisions are always difficult to make, and this has certainly been one of those occasions,” he said.
Richmond CEO Brendon Gale said the Tigers had “a number of highly credentialed and experienced administrators” to help cover Richardson’s departure.
“Dan has played an important role at the club over the past five years and can look back with pride on the contribution he has made to our success,” Gale said.

Good riddance. :clapping

It's no surprise we demote dan for Balme and we win flag
He was only ever really good at contracts let's be honest
-
Thanks Dan for being part of the team that gave us a flag, no matter how big or small your role was. :clapping

Seems like at least some of our rivals see us as a successful club these days.
-
Did he have a pretty significant role in keeping our jets on the lest staying for unders (bar Dusty's last big contract). If so, contributed massively to a flag.
Typical Essendon, trying to buy their way to a flag.
-
Was surprised to see he was at the club for 5 years.

I would say more than a few do, its not in any way, shape or form surprising, what was achieved in 2017 from where we were, was monumental, from the board to the boot strapper.
-
Was probably told to look for work elsewhere but if he can't then he's always welcome here ::)

From Prez Peggy O'Neal on the RFC website:
What will the departure of Dan Richardson mean for the football department? He did a good job with contracts.
Firstly, I would like to thank Dan for his service. The Richardson name is synonymous with this Club and I’m sure Dan found the decision to move an extremely difficult one to make. We wish him well in his new role at Essendon.
The football department structure, roles and responsibilities is something that Neil Balme will look at along with Brendon Gale. We have a number of highly-experienced administrators and we are well placed to ensure the pre-season proceeds without a hitch. Neil and Brendon will make any changes they deem necessary and we will share that with members and supporters in due course.

We won't have to worry about Essendon this year. They don't want to copy us ;D.
NEW footy boss Dan Richardson says Essendon will forge its own playing style this year rather than replicate Richmond’s successful premiership template.
http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/teams/essendon/bombers-on-track-for-strong-preseason-despite-injury-issues-for-francis-and-travis-colyer/news-story/80aec24734ce74c4b163e2f086a7f6f2
He also spoke about us:
Richardson says one of the key lessons from Richmond’s premiership success was to play a game plan that utilises the players’ strengths, rather than minimises their deficiencies.
All clubs will attempt to bring more forward pressure this year to win forward-half turnovers but it doesn’t mean they have to slavishly replicate the Tigers.
“You take some learnings from wherever you go and I have learnt a lot from Richmond and the people there,” Richardson told the Herald Sun.
“But that said I don’t believe you can just try to copy what someone else has done. You have to forge your own path.
“One of the things Richmond learnt was that you allow a team and the players in that team to play to their strengths, whatever they may be.
“We particularly learnt that in the past 12 months.”
-
Is Richardson giving Hardwick a backhander with that statement regarding a game plan that plays to the players strengths not minimise their weaknesses.

I don't think so, he is really only saying what our own coaches and the club have been saying.
