Agreed. Those odds are stupid.

Stupid odds 50/50 game
Looking forward to it

A cheeky 10er on them to win would help the potential heartache.

SUMMARY
The Tigers suffered their first loss since round 21 last year when they fell to Adelaide by 36 points last Thursday night. Richmond was smashed in contested ball (192 to 144), with coach Damien Hardwick later declaring the Tigers were "out-hunted and out-worked" as well as being beaten in the air and at ground level, with Alex Rance destroyed by Josh Jenkins in the first half. The Hawks are one of four teams to remain undefeated after two rounds following their heart-stopping one-point win over Geelong on Easter Monday. After the Cats came back from a 25-point deficit in the last quarter to level the scores, a point by Jarryd Roughead broke the deadlock with a minute remaining on the clock. There's no denying the Hawks are on their way back to their scary best after a rare finals absence in 2017.
WHERE AND WHEN: MCG, Sunday, April 8, 1.10pm AEST
LAST FIVE MEETINGS
R20, 2017: Richmond 13.15 (93) d Hawthorn 9.10 (64) at the MCG
R18, 2016: Hawthorn 16.18 (114) d Richmond 5.14 (44) at the MCG
R7, 2016: Hawthorn 21.10 (136) d Richmond 13.12 (90) at the MCG
R18, 2015: Richmond 10.11 (71) d Hawthorn 7.11 (53) at the MCG
R6, 2014: Hawthorn 18.10 (118) d Richmond 7.10 (52) at the MCG
THE SIX POINTS
1. Match-winning midfielder Dustin Martin dominated in the Tigers' round 20 win over the Hawks last year. He had 32 disposals and kicked two goals in their 29-point victory, playing largely as a forward while Jack Riewoldt was out with an eye injury
2. This game should produce a battle between the competition's in-form midfielders. Hawthorn's Tom Mitchell has averaged 47 disposals over two games and leads the AFLCA champion player of the year voting from Martin, who is fourth.
3. Mitchell was no slouch against the Tigers last year, either. He was the Hawks' best with 35 disposals and a whopping 10 clearances – easily the most by an individual on the field – with the Hawks winning that stat 36 to 32.
4. It was the Tigers' midfield that got the job done on the day with Dion Prestia chipping in with 31 touches and Kane Lambert picking up 30 to go with Martin's haul. Richmond won the contested possessions 146 to 137.
5. The Tigers haven't been as strong defensively in their first two games as they were last year, with an average of 106 points conceded compared to 74 in 2017. Meanwhile, the Hawks have been the No.1 team for inside 50s and equal fourth for marks inside the attacking arc.
6. Patrick Dangerfield and Martin might have a monopoly on the top two spots in the Schick AFL Player Ratings, but Mitchell is coming for them. In just the past two weeks, the ball magnet has climbed from 31st overall to 23rd.
IT’S A BIG WEEK FOR …
Richmond coach Damien Hardwick. That's two games and two best on ground performances by Tom Mitchell, who has been awarded the maximum 10 votes by the coaches in the AFLCA award in rounds one and two. The challenge of stopping the 24-year-old now falls to the most recent premiership coach. To initiate a hard tag (Jack Graham?) or go head-to-head with Mitchell in the midfield is Hardwick's million-dollar question.
PREDICTION: Richmond by 12 points.

I hope we win this match and the next 10 over the spawks.
I hate them more than any other team and this hatred goes back to the mid 70's.
No sissyly or burgergroin should steer us in the right direction.
Just have to run over that bloody mitchell with a bulldozer or somethin. Jack Graham should be able to do that I reckon!

Crowd prediction up to 70k.
The previous crowd record for Richmond vs Hawthorn is 66,305, which occurred in Round 18, 2015.

It's good to know that the top 5 biggest crowds that we've had when playing against the spawks have all been wins.

From Barrett's 'sliding doors' column:
If .... we don't normally get too worked up with match-scheduling matters ...
then .... we are this weekend. The Tigers-Hawks game is wasted in the 1.10pm Sunday slot.

The Hawks are going to try to beat us at our own game according to Brereton and Dunstall.
“They [Hawthorn's small forwards C.Rioli, Puopolo, Breust & Impey] were pressing up and having that intense pressure, which is how Richmond won that premiership last year.
“It’s all about winning the territory battle — you’re not going to get opened up down back if the ball doesn’t get there that much.”

Again, not really a fit for the sliding doors theme from Barrett, but I agree with this.

Butler tumbles through a point.
7 - 7

Conca :P
-
Geez we are turning it over going forward :scream.
-
Short across the HB line. Grigg is spoiled. From the throw-in, Hawks get a point.
7 - 8
-
Another kick (Macca) hitting a hawk defender at CHF.
We get it back and finally we take a mark inside F50. Lucky as it fell b/w two Hawks. Edwards 20m out. Goal :gotigers

Ellis to Jack on the wing. Finds Cotch but the handball to Lambert puts us under pressure. Turnover. Hawk rebound and goal.
19 - 15
-
Butler chase down. That was holding the ball but not paid ::).
We get it anyway. Dusty's ping is OOTF.
-
It appears Reece Conca has been given the job on Tom Mitchell this afternoon, but it's not working particularly well so far, as Mitchell leads all players with 11 disposals, four contested possessions and two clearances.

19 - 16
21 mins Q1
-
Lloyd to Edwards to Graham in the pocket. Low % ping and it cut off by a Hawk. We smother the kick and it's a point.
20 - 16
-
Sorry if it was postes earlier but who did Lloyd come in for?
-
Cotch sharks a Hawk's handball. We go forward.
Dusty now hands to Nank who fumbles but luck a fortune it hits his boot and goes through for a goal :lol :gotigers
Rich 4.2-26
Haw 2.4-16
26 mins Q1

Sorry if it was postes earlier but who did Lloyd come in for?
Bolton (omitted).

Dusty marks 45m out. Hits up Butler who is in a better position. Misses :facepalm.
27 - 16
-
Sorry if it was postes earlier but who did Lloyd come in for?
Bolton (omitted).
Sorry I see now. I thought that Prestia had come into the side. Im well behind these days.
-
O'Meara's kick cut off by Edwards. Goes towards Dusty but spoiled for a throw-in. Out of the ruck by Jack and goals :gotigers.
Rich 5.3-33
Haw 2.4-16
28 mins Q1
-
Sorry if it was postes earlier but who did Lloyd come in for?
Bolton (omitted).
Sorry I see now. I thought that Prestia had come into the side. Im well behind these days.
Prestia was meant to over his hammy and come in this week but he has sore buttocks apparently.
-
Quarter time
Richmond 5.3-33
Hawthorn 2.4-16
Goals: Riewoldt, Edwards, Lloyd, Castagna, Nankervis.
-
Conca 5 disposals 3 turnovers. :banghead
-
Sorry if it was postes earlier but who did Lloyd come in for?
Bolton (omitted).
Sorry I see now. I thought that Prestia had come into the side. Im well behind these days.
Prestia was meant to over his hammy and come in this week but he has sore buttocks apparently.
So Glutes as well! Maybe they were right in BF?!
-
Too quick for the Hawks at this stage. Sloppy first 20 mins with our inside F50 kicks being cut off, but we started to get into gear in time-on.
Negs: Losing the clearances (4-9) thanks to Mitchell. Contested possies behind slightly 34- 37.
Pos: Inside 50s: 17 - 9 and tackles 14-7. Hawks have gone tall up forward and they're top heavy so far. Our defence is doing well. Cotch, Edwards and Dusty our leading possession getters.
-
Jack Higgins didn't record a disposal in the first term but he is the equal leader for pressure acts with Kane Lambert, both players recording nine each in the first quarter.
http://www.afl.com.au/match-centre/2018/3/rich-v-haw
-
Great hands in defence by the Tigers turns defence into attack. Sliced through the Hawks.
Nank to Houli to Cotch to Conca. Dinky kick. Castagmna gathers to Macca back to Georgie 60 out who goes back to Macca at 50. Goallllllll :gotigers
Rich 6.3-39
Haw 2.4-16
-
Rance off to Higgins to Grigg to Ellis all by hand. Takes a couple of bounces then kicks. Lloyd and Houli almost creates something out of nothing. Review as it came off a boot. Review says a goal to us when apparently it came off Gunston's boot. They then had a review of the review and it's a point. Too farce :facepalm.
40 - 16
-
Higgins first goal in AFL :clapping
Puopolo replies :scream.
Butler bursts through but misses. 3 behinds to him.
And then another miss (Townsend) :scream.
Rich 7.6-48
Haw 4.4-28
-
Now Dusty misses.
Geez we should be 6-7 goals up :banghead.
49 - 28
-
Edwards to Conca around the corner. Jack knocked it over Townsend. Butler towards Castagna but we stuff it up. Hawks gain possession but a good tackle by Georgie and he is rewarded. Goal :gotigers.
Rich 8.7-55
Haw 4.5-29
27 mins Q2
-
Hawks straight out of the centre to get it back :banghead.
We're getting smashed in the clearances 10- 21. That's what is keeping Hawthorn it in. Missing Prestia big time.
Almost another one but Rioli misses.
55 - 36
-
Half-time
Richmond 5.3 8.7-55
Hawthorn 2.4 5.6-36
Goals: Castagna 2, Riewoldt, Edwards, McIntosh, Nankervis, Lloyd, Higgins.
-
Some of our worst field kicking I have seen in a number of years. Is it really that difficult to nail a pass 20 metres. Has happened first two rounds and inside 50 there is no need, way too unselfish, just put the bloody thing through the big white sticks, very simple.
-
A battle between our speed on the outside and our backline (Rance) vs their inside/clearance work (Mitchell).
Disposals: 203 - 193 (contested: 70 - 82)
Clearances: 10 - 25 (centre: 4 - 10; stoppages 6-15)

Higgins 5
Astbury 5
Grimes 3
Towner 2
http://www.afl.com.au/match-centre/2018/3/rich-v-haw
-
Grimes injured or sunburnt?
-
Alex Rance took four intercept marks in the second quarter to consistently repel the Hawks attacks. This is the second-highest record in this category this season, behind the five intercept marks he took in the third quarter against the Crows last week.
Reece Conca has been critical to the Tigers this quarter, winning eight disposals this term but also ensuring that the Tigers have retained possession from seven of his disposals, clearly the best on ground in this category.
http://www.afl.com.au/match-centre/2018/3/rich-v-haw
Thank gawd for Rance! Had about 5 or 6 marking intercepts in that qtr alone.
We are missing the bigger bodies of Prestia and Caddy in the middle.
-
Grimes injured or sunburnt?
I thought he was alright?
-
Grimes out there.
-
Cotch handball misses at CHF. Turnover. Rebound Hawthorn goal to Roughead.
55 - 42
-
Mitchell is killing us at the centre bounces. Rance saves the day again.
Cotch to Castagna to Lambo back to Cotch. Across the body. Butler to Towner to Jack = goal :gotigers
Our speed on the rebound does it again.
Rich 9.7-61
Haw 6.6-42
-
Grrr! OOTF kick to us. Free to Gunston. Kick forward drops to Rioli for a goal.
61 - 48
-
COnca out of the middle (we actually won a clearance). It;'s a throw-in.
Lambo to Edwards. Gets around Stratton and hits up Higgins. Misses a gettable one.
Jack intercepts the kick-in. Goal :gotigers.
Rich 10.8-68
Haw 7.6-48

Starting to win the centre clearances. 6-3 this qtr.
-
Cotch paddles to grigg to Dusty. Offloads to Jack towards Towner. Tumbles a kick towards goal but it's cut off. Hawks clear.
Macca tumbles a kick toward HF. Jack to Cotch. Shocking kick but Frawley deliberately gets it over the boundary. Not paid ::). Throw-in. Edwards to Townsend over his head for a point.
75 - 49
-
Graham on Mitchell. Limited him to 6 possies this qtr.
Lloyd to Conca towards Jack. Stratton cannons into jack but no free ::). Point.
76 - 49
-
Ellis finds Lambo in the corridor to Nank. Goes long. Rushed off hands.
77 - 49
-
We force the Hawk turnover. Higgins to HF. Castagna out of position but still takes the mark. Waits and nails Jack's lead 50 out on the boundary. To the square and Higgins out of the air = goal :gotigers
Rich 12.11-83
Haw 7.7-49
-
Slack defending. Gunston misses a sitter.
83 - 50
-
3/4 time
Richmond 5.3 8.7 12.11-83
Hawthorn 2.4 5.6 7.8-50
Goals: Riewoldt 3, Castagna 2, Higgins 2, Edwards, Lloyd, Nankervis, McIntosh, Grigg.
-
Need to be clinical in the last, too much lairising so far, probably butchered 3 or 4 goals.
-
The difference was we started winning the clearances and contested footy. Clearances won them 11-5 that qtr after losing the first half 10-25.
-
Floss on D50. Goes long. Conca gathers to Grigg to HF. We can raffle it. Edwards to Castagna = goal :gotigers
Rich 13.11-89
Haw 7.8-50
-
Roughead gets it back.
89 - 56
-
Last 3 goals to the Hawks ::).
95 - 75
17 mins Q4

Jack saves the day. Beats 4 defenders to mark. His 4th :gotigers
Rich 15.11-101
Haw 11.9-75

We haven't been clinical enough in front.of goals.
-
What happen in that patch of 3 goals to hawks.
-
What happen in that patch of 3 goals to hawks.
They were more efficient going forward.
Goal to the Hawks. Back to 20.

Rance was late and it's 50 to Hawthorn. Back to 14.
102 - 88

Gez that's poor honestly game should be done and dusted yet we make hard work of it stupid basic football errors.
-
Some old habits creeping in I notice.
-
Cotch to HF but the Hawks get it. We intercept via Ellis on the wing. To Butler to SHort. Back to Ellis. Back to Rance. To Houli.
Wasting time. 30 mins gone.
-
We go long and the Hawks rebound. Thankfully they miss.
102 - 89
-
Siren. Won by 13.
-
Hope Hardwick takes this team aside and gives them a good old spray. Too much smart arse football in the last especially and it could have cost us the game.
-
Final Score
Richmond 5.3 8.7 12.11 15.12-102
Hawthorn 2.4 5.6 7.8 13.11-89
Goals: Riewoldt 4, Castagna 3, Higgins 2, Butler, Edwards, McIntosh, Nankervis, Grigg, Lloyd.
Crowd: 70k.
-
Win is a win but sorry that's poor for me we were 5 goals up to many guy's making dumb decisions for me like panic merchants.
-
Not a great win. Still getting beaten in contested possession which is a worry.
-
Hope Hardwick takes this team aside and gives them a good old spray. Too much smart arse football in the last especially and it could have cost us the game.
This .
Not happy Dan Butler .
-
Hope Hardwick takes this team aside and gives them a good old spray. Too much smart arse football in the last especially and it could have cost us the game.
Yep. Giving up a 39 point lead down to 13 (could have been closer if they kicked straight) in the last means we collectively switched off mentally.
-
If this were round 17 I'd be concerned.
But it is round 3. We are 2-1 and we won today playing in second gear.
Our guys know what it takes to win a flag.
-
Conca was good
-
Conca was good
Yeah, really good I thought. Showing the same sort of form as early last year.
Hopefully his body can sustain the effort......
-
If anyone needs conclusive proof that you don't need to tag Mitchell, the Tigers provided it today. I must admit though that it helps to have an effective defensive structure for Mitchell to have to play into. Our defence was really good for 3 quarters in shutting down options for Mitchell to move the ball forward to.
Mitchell got plenty of it, but I didn't think he used it well at all. Cotchin had significantly less possessions and was much more damaging.
-
getting the four points is always good but our performance was very average. The good part is that Prestia, Caddy, Rioli and Broad will come into the side at some point and that's when we'll be our strongest, Id suggest we need a 2nd tall up forward who is mobile and can take a mark but for now we are 2 and 1 and going ok.
-
Serious question
What to do with Kane Lambert?
Was poor again today, cost us 3 goals with atrocitious decison making and terrible handballs in our F50
Horrilby out of form and not coping with the extra attention
And Rance is in trouble, like Caddy last week too late
-
Yes he’s horribly out of form but still works hard both ways.
I wouldn’t drop Lambert as yet WP. Once Prestia and Caddy are back he will be more damaging.
-
lambert is still starting 18 for me. still the hardest two way runner in our team.as tigeritis said, he will benefit with caddy and prestia taking the heat off so he can burn opponents off with his tank
-
Lambert will be okay. Conca though.. has to go. Just has to
-
Lambert will be okay. Conca though.. has to go. Just has to
:huh
-
Lambert will be okay. Conca though.. has to go. Just has to
Say what?
-
Thought georgie castagna was excellent today
-
Loved the win but you Tigers nearly gave up the game. GAME FACE BOYS, ALWAYS!
Lambert is probably gone as we have way too many in form players to choose from that aren't playing at the moment including those big names due to come back anyway.
-
Mafia Island & Erin Phillips' Brother-in-law were big outs for them, not to mention a 5 day break v our 9 day break. Really shouldve belted them but instead we were nearly overrun. Still nowhere near where we were last year....missing Prestia, Broad & especially Rioli....Conca & CEllis have been inferior replacements....Lambert out of form, Houli & Grigg ordinary(the latter getting exposed in the ruck now- Nank also getting done by bigger & more agile opponents)BEllis back to his worst(though was ok yesterday).... blokes like Bolton, Lloyd & Short are defensively inferior.....a bit of lairising by certain players....shorter pre-season (though it doesn't seem to be affecting Adelaide but then again as runners-up they're probably a bit more determined than us at this stage)...
-
Watched the game again and must say it was Castagna's best game as he was clean, composed and played like a CHF :bow
-
The thing I like about Castagna is the way he sticks big tackles.
-

The last part of your post is the most relevant. We do not need to be playing at full potential just yet. Just need to win as many games up to the bye weekends and be at worse 8 and 4. Then we can build over the last 10 weeks.
The next 5 weeks can set us up. Brisbane, Melbourne, Collingwood, Freo all at MCG then North at Etihad
